My first drone
I have wanted a drone for some time and saw this one online advertised at a price that was just too good to pass up. Normally retails for around $1300 - $1400 but I got it for $599 delivered including the Wizard Wand which allows you to fly the drone with a remote control shaped like a TV remote which allows the drone to follow you and or watch you without having the larger base station controller visible in your videos.
So I cannot compare this to a DJI or anything else as I have not owned one so this will be my initial review based on owni...Read more
ng it for around 3 weeks and having it out flying over 2 weekends. Out of the box it includes 2 sets of props, 2 batteries, the Wizard Wand, Q500 4K quadcopter and ST10+ base station controller and battery balancer and charger. The ST10+ comes with the build in 5.5" android based touch screen for displaying live video feed from the drone and also your telemetry. The camera on the drone is a 4K capable of shooting 4K video. I had this up and flying after charging the batteries for a couple of hours. It uses Gps so it very stable in the air. As I am very new to this hobby I have been flying it in a large open sports field with no one else around, no trees or other obstacles to crash into. It's very stable and easy to fly. As a new flyer I guess I could recommend it to someone learning to fly one with no experience. There are settings on the controller to choose your speed, rabbit or turtle. And there are 2 flying modes - angle and smart mode. Angle will fly the drone in the direction the front of the drone is flying from the camera perspective. Smart mode allows the watch me and follow me modes and flies the drone which ever direction you want it to go irrespective of which was the drone is facing. Build quality seems very strong and it is light weight at the same time. I thoroughly read the user manual and quick start guide first, but I assume that an experienced flyer would be competent in flying without having to do that. I will add more updates to this review as time goes on and I become more experienced with it. So far very happy with it. The video footage is amazing, but you'll need a decent Pc or laptop to play the video back or edit it in some video editing software.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
