Gino, the same curled edge occurs on mine.

Hi Gino
You may need to replace the skirt. It wears as it rubs along the pool surface thinning out causing it to curl.

Where to buy on goldcoast qld

This item was not purchased on the Gold Coast indeed the records of my complaints would show. It was purchased at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. This demonstrates the efficiency of Priduct Review and Zodiac you entire system needs an overhaul and made efficient. zodiac by their failure to contact me when I had problems also demonstrate an urgent need for their attention.

I would suggest try another brand. The money now spent on replasing the diaphragm's could have purchased another cleaner. And now 2 the hoses need replacing. They are clever, they put notches on the hose so now they don't spin as much and wear and need replacing. Parts are a small fortune. I have a relatively new unit but are checking reviews, zodiac are just too expensive to keep up maintenance and I am busy keeping every single receipt for warranty. They work well but the consumable costs are killing me!

what is the difference between Zodiac G1, G2 and G3 model pool cleaners

I have no idea of the difference. I would suggest that you look closely at the assistance as given by Zodiac and their call centre if you have problem. I had all sorts of problems and the assistance that I got from the local pool, shop was way ahead of the assistance from Zodiac.

Which is the better cleaner the G2 or the new T3 cleaner ? and why? Appreciate you answer as I need to buy a new one.

Hi Pamela when I needed a new cleaner I looked at both and decided on the G2. Why, as to me it was a proven product. The T 3 is newer cheaper and has less moving parts. However, on balance I stayed with the G2 as it has served me well.

Thanks Peter, I have since spoken to someone from Zodiac and they told me that the G2 is bigger than the T3. I have decided to stay with the G2 model.

Hi There,
Could you please let me know what the difference between the G2 and the G3 is please?

Hi Lynn - I have always had a G2 as I found them to be a good product. When I recently replaced my G2 I asked about the G3 and was advised it was cheaper and still did the same task. Also there are fewer internal parts in the G3. I still chose the G2 as its history was for a reliable product.

Hi
I got a zodiac g2 & I can hook it up and it goes for a 1 or 2 mtrs & stops. Disconnect from vacuum plate & hook up again and does the same thing. Any idea what could be wrong with it ?

You may have something caught in the diaphragm. If that is the case take the zodiac apart or it could be that the diaphragm has a split in it near where it goes on the plastic pipe. If that is the case you will need a new one. If your unit is relatively new the pump pressure maybe to strong for your Zodiac setting. You should have checked this before you inserted the Zodiac. There is a spring tube that allows for the checking of pressure. Also, you may need a flat plate instead of the normal pool plate. This plate allows to to slow or speed up the G2. Finally do you know that you can adjust the valve that the hose is connected too. There are three settings. I did find the customer service team at Zodiac very helpful.

I hope I have assisted you

Hi there I have just bought a zodiac g2 today and when I turned the pool pump on it was suctioning fine and moving by itself but once my pool pump had reduced its pressure down to a steady low hum about another 20 mins and the vacuum stopped moving and had minimal suction. I’m not sure if this is due to a problem with my pool pump (as we have had many problems with it) or a problem with the vacuum/set-up. Thank you for any suggestions and sorry if this is such a long question.
Thanks Mathilda

Hi sorry about the delay in responding. Did you do a pressure test in the skimmer box. It is important that you have the correct setting on the valve that goes into the skimmer box. A test device should have come with the G2. In my case my pump was too powerful so I needed to purchase a flat skimmer plate. If you have completed the pressure test then all should be OK. However, you may have a problem with your pump.

Another consideration is checking to see if you have an obstruction in the diaphragm.

If all this fails contact Zodiac on 1300763021 or visit their website. I found them extremely helpful.

I have a G2, had it for about 15 years, replaced several bits and pieces over the years to keep it going. I'm about to replace the diaphragm again. My issue is: ever since i replaced the ad valve the connecting hose comes off when the pump shuts off. I'm sure i read somewhere about what to buy to stop this but cannot find any info anywhere. Makes it impossible to just 'set and forget' for continual cleaning while the pump is running. Any advice please?

Hi Paul. May I ask if you have checked to see if there is Water inside the Float? Or a missing Hose weight? Thanks.

What is the life expectancy of a G3 diaphragm?
I took the unit apart and did not see ant holes or rips and it feels soft to the touch. The overall unit appears to work but will not move around the pool?

Sorry, I can't comment on a G3 diaphragm unless it's the same as a G2. I had a G2 for 13 years and replaced the diaphragm twice. That makes it a bit over 4 years a piece on average. A real lifetime expectancy should be based on hours of operation but as I don't have the cleaner running in the pool constantly, that's anyone's guess.
My new T5 duo is 5 months old and - so far, so good! Ours is a lap pool and the T5 ignores areas of floor at either end because it prefers to go charging around the wall. I am experimenting with introducing a slight bend in the hose just ahead of the cleaner so that it doesn't "follow the hose". That makes it change direction a lot more often & seems to work! Manufacturer take note.
