Zodiac MX6
Received the MX6 with leaf extractor a couple weeks ago, and with 2 hours of it being in our pool, it was clean. Totally blown away, exceeded my expectations. I'm amazed it doesn't get stuck in tight areas and works its way out, climbs walls, does 360's climbing the wall, bobbing up and down on the water line, it is cleaning every part of our pool. The pool water is noticeable clearer and enjoy swimming in it now and not having to clean it first. We have a 70,000 pebble crete pool. Just not sure about the maintenance to keep it working at its best, nothing in the instructions about this. Otherwise very happy :)

Great First Time Cleaner
After 25 years of manual cleaning I took the plunge with the MX6 or Tracker from Masters. Wow. Should have done this many years ago. What I didn't realise was that keeping the pool bottom and walls clean actually means a sparkling pool overall. No problems after 6 weeks operation. Very quiet. Love it to death! Pool is 45000 L with pebble coating. Tracker makes this old pool look new.

Hi Col, thanks for the great review, happy swimming!
Hi. Just checking in after a year of owning the Tracker. Yes, its still doing a great job and has stopped only twice due to small sticks getting caught up. This is so simple to fix a child could do... Read more
it. I have checked the rubber tracks to look for wear and tear as my pool has pebble finish but no obvious sign of wear yet. Hope this info helps you to make the right decision. BTW it was so sad to see Masters close because this was where I bought the Tracker but I have every confidence in support, if required, from the manufacturer.Similar opinion? Best pool cleaner I have ever had.
Only had my MX6 for 5 days but already I am extremely happy with its action. I hope the quality is just as impressive as I hope to use it a long time. The greatest thing is that it doesn't tip over and lay stranded on its back like skirt type cleaners do. I cant believe it took me so long to find a cleaner that works.

Hi Ando, great to hear that you are happy with your MX6! To get the most life out of your cleaner (or any cleaner for that matter) try to remove from the pool after use. Happy swimming!
Thanks for the tip. To help others in the future maybe that should be put into the instructions for use.

Excellent
I was hesitant to purchase as I had always had other types of cleaners. But after taking the plunge I was thoroughly impressed.
It is fast, so it covers a lot of the pool, where my previous types were very slow and even after hours of cleaning, would still not clean the entire pool.
It climbs the sides of the pool with no effort, which my others struggled to do.
The only downsides, are I could have done with 1 more length of hose, but not critical, it reaches..just.
The adaptor in the skimmer box is quite high, so I have to make sure the pool level is up otherwise it sucks in air.
A great buy and would highly recommend.

Pretty Good, I think.
I have a 47,000L 11.6m x 3m x 1.3m above ground lined pool with a Hurlcon E230 1hp Pump.
Good points: It's great to watch in action! It does 80% of the cleaning saving me hours. The MX6 does pick up gum leaves and I have quite a lot of them which begin generating algae as soon as I put on the cool cover on (and regardless of the hype blankets do not stop leaves getting in the pool). Which is why I needed the MX6.
OK points: It does climb the sides but it's hit and miss. The scalloped-wall-sides caused by the supporting struts you need in a 1...Read more

Hi Mike, great to hear that you are pleased with your MX6. For the hose lengths, this really depends on where the skimmer is located in your pool. If it is at one corner and not in the middle then it ... Read more
may need a couple more hose lengths to climb the walls of the opposite side. These can be purchased from your nearest Zodiac retailer. In addition to using an automatic pool cleaner to remove physical debris, it is also important to conduct regular water chemistry tests. If there is algae in your pool, try using an algecide such as Zodiac Pool Long Life Algaecide. For more information, please contact our After Sales team on 1300 763 021 or email [email protected]Thanks, the MX6 in conjunction with the chemical treatment is working. And now that I have the extra hoses I get full coverage. Very pleased with the MX6.

Didn't work but not the fault of the unit
I purchased one of these after a lot of research, I actually bought it from Masters and they have it labelled as the Barracuda Tracker. Unfortunately due to the number of ledges and steps and the sharpness of them in the pool it kept getting stuck and was unable to remove itself. It would hang vertically with one of the tracks stuck firmly on the ledge and would go back and forth but was unable to dislodge itself. The pools is a Narellan Pools Symphony. There is a flotation device on the first length of pipe and I experimented with moving this ...Read more
up and down the pipe to see if I could solve the problem to no avail. I don’t deem any of this to be a fault with the unit, after watching the way it worked if you had a pool with a much cleaner and simpler internal design I believe this unit would work exceptionally well and YouTube videos I watched demonstrated this was the case. Also if you have a pool with trees dropping all sorts of rubbish into the pool I would not recommend using one of these and if you do you need to get all of the rubbish out first, unless you purchase their inline rubbish filter which I am sure would fix the problem. Anyway, I returned the unit to Masters fully boxed up nicely in the original packaging and they gladly exchanged it for the Barracuda Manta (Kreepy Crawley Design) and it works 100% perfectly. I am very happy with the purchase for around $325.00 including hoses and everything.1 comment

Should have got this sooner
We have a large (60000 litre) above ground pool that I was constantly in mortal combat with in order to keep it swimmable. Vacuuming it manually used to take about 2 hours, and this still wouldn't move some of the grime from the liner. This pool would go green just to spite me, and to say that I hated our pool would be an understatement.
This summer, I gave in, and bought an automatic pool cleaner, finally deciding on the MX6 based on price and marketing hype.
I've been using it for about 6 weeks now, the pool has been crystal clear, and is ...Read more

MX6
Cannot handle sand well or sinuous leaves. Need to clean sand out of pool before using the MX6 as rotating vanes will jam on sand particles. Long leaves can also jam the rotor requiring MX6 to be removed from pool and the leaf removed from the mechanism. Without leaves and sand works reasonably well and keeps the walls clean.

Awesome suction pool cleaner
MX6 is fantastic. Never gets stuck and the hoses never kink. We used to have issues with our last cleaner but the MX6 is whisper quiet and operates without issue even when the pool becomes low in water from evaporation. We love how it can climb to the upmost heights of the pools water which makes us feel relaxed knowing that our entire pool gets cleaned.

Good start with this compact pool cleaner.
Easy to set up, one day old and doing a great job so far. Climbing walls, sweeping entire floor of pool and even tackling the steps. So far so good! I've read mixed reviews about this cleaner and I think a lot of problems could be down to slower pump speeds and flow rate. I had to kick my pump up a notch to get the desired flow rate for the cleaner, but once I did, it really worked well. Just make sure your pump has the prescribed flow rate to operate the mx6 before purchase.

Competent product, better than Kreepy Krauly Marathon
Jumped from KreepyKrauly which requires frequent human intervention to its operation so that it doesn't get stuck on corners or by its own hose. I have been trying to adjust the KK, by fixing floating foam to one end and bag of stone to the other end. It is simply too difficult to get it work on itself.
Then I think enough is enough. After research, Zodiac robotic cleaner V3 and this MX6 are shortlisted(MX8 is more complex, more prone to break and too big for my 8*3m pool). I just think MX6 is the biggest bang for $.

he MX6 without too much hassle. And it runs beautifully. No more annoying hammering noise like the KK does, no more worrying it getting stuck. Now I have full confidence that I don't have to spend extra time to monitor how it goes in the pool. Questions & Answers
Jennifer G.asked
My MX-6 isn't allowing enough water to flow through the system. When I have just the hose in the pool, the returns are fine. But when I add the robot to the end of the house, the waterfalls trickle down the wall instead of flowing freely. If I open the skimmer any more, it sucks air. If I open the floor drain at all, the robot gets stuck on the drain. Is there a different product that would allow for a greater flow through the cleaner?

Hello, I just installed the mx6, drain is closed, the yellow wheel does the proper 10 rotations in the 20-25 seconds. When the unit climbs the pool wall the unit goes above the water line and then sucks in air. What can I do to correct this? Sammy Ray Morris

Mine does that too, has since I got it but the higher the water level in my pool the less often it happens.
Hello Brooke, I raised the water level in the pool with the same results. I am at a loss as what to to do. I'm going to give Zodiac a call for some advice. Thanks for responding.
