I was looking for a new bike to replace my 6 year old carbon-framed Orbea with 105 setup. At a price range of around $3000 I was looking at picking up a similarly specced bike with a carbon frame. Basically what I was hoping was that I would get something a little bit lighter with a little more snap than my tired old warhorse.
Living in Manly I had seen the showroom for Bicycles Online and had also visited the website, so after plucking up some courage I stepped in and took the 900 for a short test ride. It was immediately obvious this bike ...Read more
had the required pep and was very light. The spec is ridiculous for the money in comparison to what is available in other local bike stores, with the wheels / drive train being worth the price on their own. I was sold then and there. The frame appears really well made with internal cable routing and a sweet color scheme. I love the hexagonal shape of the top tube and the whole bike is SUPER light coming in at 7kgs, although it feels robust enough to handle my bulk (88kgs). Wheelset is the top of the line Fulcrum zeros, which are very fast rolling and the Dura-ace drive train operates noticeably better than the 105 gear on my Orbea. On the flat the bike rolls along very smoothly and encourages a high pace / high cadence. Power is transmitted very quickly from pedal to wheel giving you a feeling of direct acceleration. However it also feels really comfy over longer 100km plus rides and feels like it doesn't burn your energy too quickly. Going up hills the bike offers plenty and is equally happy if you sit in or rise up out of the saddle. It is way quicker than my old bike and really encourages you to push yourself hard.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Gamble that paid!
I was in the market for a new training bike as my old Trek Madone was seriously road weary. The spec's on the Polygon 900 caught my attention and after a few calculations I realised that just the components alone were well worth the price. Decided to take the plunge and, at worst, might have to dump the frame if it was not up to standard.
In excess of 3000km later I'm as happy as Larry with the bike. In summary it is a pleasure to ride. Very comfortable on long rides. Stiff enough to climb hills comfortably, without rattling you teeth on bumpy roads. It compares very favourable with my other bikes, which are at least double the price!
Being a Sydney Swan supporter I must say the colour scheme. Overall riding comfort. Top quality spec's

Great Ride
Only had the 900 a couple of weeks but more than happy with the bike as well as the great advise and service given over the phone from Bicyclesonline 10/10. To be honest the spec got me over the line. Looked for any bad review on this bike I could find on the net, but came up blank. All good!!! After only 2 x 50 km rides (Brisbane very wet) the Helios 900 is light and fast. Climbs well and with the Dura-ace/Fulcrum 0 wheel combination you can feel the transition with every pedal stoke. The frame looks good and feels nice and stiff.

n riding a Gaint Alliance 0 for the past 2 years and the difference is day and night. Bike arrived in Brisbane within a few days of ordering. I did not test ride or see the bike before ordering but was impressed as soon as it arrived. 30 minutes later and it was ready to hit the road. Pitty it rained for the next 4 days. I was looking for a full carbon bike at a reasonable price and could not go pass the value for dollars this bike offered. Brilliant ride and I highly recommend any Polygon road bike. Hope to see more Polygon Bikes round Brisbane soon. Looks good, good frame, great spec

Terrific bike. WOW factor
Bike arrived in a few days, had it ready to ride in 15 - 20 minutes. Even the tyres were inflated. The frame looks as good as any I looked at and the running gear better. Great for climbing real solid on the down hill. The bike was everything and a bit more the store said it would be.
Frame better than expected, great specs

Wish these were around 5 years ago!
I bought my last bike - a Colnago Arte (Ultegra) - five or six years ago the traditional way: I went to a bike shop, looked at what they had, tried a few of the bikes, then bought it. I managed to get the price down to $3,000 at the time. A lot has changed in 5 years and when I decided to get a new bike a few months ago it seemed like there were a lot more options and that good bikes had become a bit cheaper. I don't race, but I do try to ride 4 or 5 times a week in Sydney, anywhere from 30kms to 100kms per ride. Sydney's roads are pretty unpre...Read more
dictable, and a bit hilly, so I needed something comfortable, sturdy, and responsive. And light, of course! I looked at, and tried, a lot of bikes under $4000. And a few over $4000... But I ended up going with the Helios 900 after I rode one at the Bicycles Online shop. Good frame, Dura-Ace, nice wheels, all for much less than the others I was looking at (not naming names...). Plus 12 months return policy! Had it for a few weeks now and it's going really well. Everything I need it to be - frame is comfy but responsive and Dura Ace is definitely a lot better than 5-year-old Ultegra (with a few replacements...). Jumped on the old bike a week ago to compare - it's like chalk and cheese. The old one feels sluggish now. Just wish I'd been able to pick one of these up 5 years ago! Good value for money; good ride; good componentsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

How does the bike compare to such as a giant tcr sl ride quality ?

I have a Gaint TCR Allance 0 with the same GEO as the SL. The 900 is miles in front of that bike but still enjoy riding. The polygon 900 is very slick. Have gone 90 kpm on a decent and was solid (meaning I felt confident with bike). It just wants to pick up the pace. It is light and the Fulcrum Zero wheels are awesome. The TCR GEO may be a little more comfortable to ride but if it is speed you want the 900 will get you there at a good price point. Hence the reason I brought the 900. Highly recommend the 900 and if I was not happy with the frame I could change it. NOT REQUIRED!!
