A Gift not Worth Giving
Extremely disappointed in the Gift, had ordered specifically a Bottle of Red wine and was delivered White! Then tried to contact business but was closed for Christmas break. The Wine was consequently opened by my mother whom shared it with her neighbour... My mother doesn't drink white, and I know this but she didn't want to tell me. Beware. Please do not waste your money. Worst service
I looked at many reviews and testimonials about how prompt the service was. I decided to go with 'a gift worth giving' as i liked their next day delivery policy and needed my item delivered the next day. Sadly I have been left disappointed. I ordered a gift at 10pm Tuesday. It's now Thursday & the item hasn't arrived. I spoke to [name removed] who ended our call by hanging up on me. I was then called back by [name removed] the owner of the business. to me the "next day Australia wide delivery" means next business day. My argument was it should clearly state 'next business day delivery' not 'next day'!! I asked for a refund so I could buy another gift. Her response was we will refund only once I receive the item. Why would I pay $15 for an item to be delivered then another $15 to post it back. Mind you my recipient hasn't received it. I was told to read the terms and conditions very carefully next time when ordering. Is this customer service?? This situation is A perfect example of why I will not be purchasing from an Australian website. Asos would have delivered at a faster rate from the UK! sincerely sorry but, i think you need new staff who can handle a customer looking for a resolution & who dont hang up on their clients. At no point did I swear at you or your staff. Yes I did apologise: but it was for talking over you & for being upset that my sister almost drowned & I wanted the gift delivered. Not for being rude to you. Im sorry that's what you interpreted. Also I did not want the product returned as I simply didn't receive it so how could I therefore return it. I wanted a refund so I could purchase something else and have it delivered in a timely manner. This is not in my nature especially as I had my baby with me. In fact It was me who asked you to lower your voice. At no point did you offer to accept the product back at your cost. Thank you for the least pleasant experience. We would certainly suggest that when you are after a timely delivery that you review the Delivery Information on the website you are ordering from. Line 3 on the Delivery Information page explains clearly that for next day delivery you must place your order by 3:30pm AEST. The banner you refer to advertising Next Day Delivery clearly has a large button that says "More Information" and if you click it takes you directlyto this page. Again we apologize you did not take the time to read this. I suppose you were so upset and frustrated which again was never our intention that you are recalling a very different set of events. Like we said we wish you the best and accept that when a customer has unreasonable expectations we unfortunately cannot meet them. We used A Gift Worth Giving for the first time year and were so happy with the service we received and the beautiful hampers we ordered. Our hampers contents were handpicked and I really liked this attention to detail. At the last minute I had to order another 14 hampers. I was not disappointed, the hampers were delivered within 48 hours without a hitch. A Gift Worth Giving offers exceptional customer service and fresh product. I contacted you moments later to try and work out what the issue was you had and how we could resolve it. You yelled, screamed and swore and proceeded to hang up on me personally not the other way around. You even apologised mid-conversation for being so rude explaining you had a baby and your sister almost drowned. We are sincerely sorry you did not read the very clearly stated delivery guidelines on our website that says the cut off time for next day delivery is 3:30pm AEST. Your order was placed after 10:00pm AEST and therefore was delivered on-time in-line with our guidelines at 3:00pm AEST on Thursday. I advised you on the telephone that if you did not want to continue with the order you were more than welcome to arrange for the gift to be returned to us at no cost to yourself and you refused to accept this. You wanted a full refund without having to send the gift back which was unreasonable. Just like any retail outlet if you would like a refund you must return the goods in order to receive a refund. Once again we do apologize you did not read the clearly stated cut off timings on our website for next day delivery and will stress that your gift was delivered on time. We pride ourselves on customer service at A Gift Worth Giving which is why management telephoned you immediately upon finding out you were unhappy. We wish you all the best, however accept that when a customer has unreasonable expectations we unfortunately cannot always meet them.
