Useful, but not as much as i expected
It initially had a issues with listening which eventually sorted. But this is not as flexible as google home. When i ask to play songs, i need to specify in a particular format. For example - when i need to play song abc from Album 'xyz' if i mention 'Alexa, play song abc from album xyz' it just plays some song from xyz, need not be abc. I am getting used to it.
but. i am very much impressed with the option to add new skills to it as we like. And speakers are good to (Y).

Alexa struggles in Australia with hearing, cannot search the net
Amazon’s Alexa is a great idea but it is not as functional in Australia as I hear it is in the USA. Alexa repeatedly misheard me and produced podcasts I didn’t ask for. Alexa has no access to Google, so you can ask a simple question (can I freeze bread?) but not more complex questions (can I freeze macarons?). This becomes frustrating at times. Listening to the news was super annoying because instead of saying “WA” or “Western Australia” Alexa said “waaa” (yes, literally like a baby sound). I had to listen to the news twice to figure it out.

Australian? Forget it!
Offers nothing for Australians. Has no idea about any Australian history, facts, figures or lifestyle. Ask Alexa about Aussie sport, get some 4th division team news from the US. Ask Alexa to play music, get pushed to sign up for some paid Amazon service. Really a useless appliance to consume power and waste space.

Absolutely useless for any real use in Australia. Needs a lot more work for Australian use as the skill apps are very low. Arlo camera app not in Australia as yet if at all.
