Is the basket Teflon?Can is chip.Is it safe?

I've only had it a couple of weeks. Yes the basket is non stick. Don't know if it's Teflon as that's a brand. So far I've done onion rings, chips & chicken tenders. Still need to jiggle cooking times but mostly it's been 8 minutes, check and flip the contents and decide on 3 to 8 minutes more. Oh, we also did home made spring rolls (very good) and frozen pastizi (acceptable but not optimal).
I'd go 4/5 for value, easy of use and yum factor.

We have an Ambiano Digital Air Fryer. When we plug it in and turn it on the display shows "E1" and it beeps at a one second rate. It doesn't respond to any of the buttons. It appears to be an error message. What does it mean and does it need to be reset? The date on the bottom label is 10/2017.
