Time to buy a new one, it is cheaper than a repair. Excellent printer but fragile.

Hi Margaret, No. Tried several ideas for copying 35mm slides and none worked. If you have a slide projector, I suggest you project the slide onto a flat white surface and photograph it with your smartphone.

Hi, no matter what I do I can't get my MX926 to print correctly on to photo paper - the ink won't take to the paper. I have tried all the options of glossy paper etc. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi,
Can you please help. My Canon MX926 printer has blurry, fuzzy and double black lines. The colours are fine. Thanks very much.

I am answering this only because no one else has answered so far and I am only guessing.
If there was a leak from the black cartridge it would have stained the drum and even after replacing the cartridge what you had described would happen. So you need to change the black cartridge and also clean the drum. Best action would be to contact canon support.

What is the replacement printer for Pixma MX 926

1 answer

Probably Canon - TS6260 but I have no experience with it. When my MX 926 died, I ditched the inkjet and moved to laser multi function from Brother. My requirements were very low volume and the inkjet was using a lot of ink just to keep the print head from drying. Laser does not do that.

I am currently having problems printing wirelessly from my Canon MC926 printer. I have done wireless LAN check, uninstalled & reinstalled printer & unplugged printer but still nothing. When I press ‘print’ from my device the message “communicating” appears on the printer screen but nothing prints. Or it shows the printer is ‘offline’.
Can you please help?

I'm assuming that what you are tying to copy is in colour? The only other thing I can think of is the colour section of the printhead is blocked. Can you do a test print in colour?

I hope that someone will help you with this. If not, call Canon support on 131383 for help. The printer is unreliable, software is not great, it consumes a lot of ink etc but from my experience canon support is quite good. You mention copying, before you call the support print any document that you have in colour (as Peter has suggested) or scan just one page that you are trying to copy and print that file in colour. That should help the support team to isolate your problem.

My Canon Pixma MX926 is about 3 years old and when trying to print a document on standard setting, the text is printing blurry. I am using Word Starter in Windows 10. A trick I have been doing is set the printing options to Photo Paper / Matte and put it on "high standard", which used to do the trick. Unfortunately today, when I do this, it doesn't recognise the text as either automatic or black, and prints it in cyan! If I change it back to standard or business document, it prints blurry black. I have deep cleaned, aligned heads, updated and reinstalled drivers, restarted computer & printer and nothing is working. I am so frustrated, I have been trying to print one simple document all day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Sounds like a Typical Windows 10 Problem. As Much as I disliked the MX926 I HATE 10 MORE. I am confident the printer it is not your problem. Depending how you have the printer connected to the computer actions will vary. If you have a standard USB connection just unplug the USB cable wait a while and plug it back in with the printer on, windows should detect it and all should be fine. If you have allowed windows to update drivers you will need to reinstall the drivers that came with the printer CD and take control of windows, auto updates are a scam!. When you set up the printer from the CD if you set it up as a network printer you must share it on your computer to allow any users to log on also those users must have an account on your computer. You must first log on to the network before the printer is avalable. A network setup is complicated and not for the faint harted. This is one of those situations where I would normally need to be on site to repair the issue. The fact that you mentioned the NBN makes me think more and more that it's a network issue so your best plain of attack might be to use a simple USB connection, either that or fast track an education in network configeration.. Sory I can't help more.

Thank you for your answer Len. I have unplugged the usb cable etc but that didn't fix the problem. I have found the disc and will, with help, reinstall the drivers.
Everything is working except the scanner. Re the network set up. I am not confident enough to take that on so will get outside help.
At least I now feel that I have some ideas, this definitely has helped.

The MX926 Printer is one of the worst printers I have purchased in this decade however your problen sounds like a feed issue or paper jam.
Turn off the power and UNPLUG the printer! Check there is nothing jamed in the paper feed both top and bottom.
Make sure the top paper feeder is clean and clear, especially the glass where the scanner scans!
Leave the printer OFF & UNPLUGED for at least twenty minuts or so then plug it in and try again.
Just pushing the power button to off is not powering off the printer make sure you actually unplug it!
If all else fails contact Cannon if its under warrinty if not Bin it and buy an Epson, just saying it worked for me I am very happy with My XP-820.
Ten or so years ago Cannon was great and you could actually get some helpful service but nowadays ringing them for me at least was a total
waste of time and the newer products do not stack up anywhere as good as the old ones. It seems we both bought some extra land fill with this one!

Are they newly install cartridges? Has the orange tab been removed? Cable fitted from computer to printer?

Kristin D
Kristin D

Yes cartridges are installed correctly and printer runs through Wifi. We have had no problems for the past 3 years then half way through printing a large document the pages became blank. I have been through all the cleaning process a few times but not one bit of ink is on any page. Can't do anymore with the cleaning etc.

Julian G.
Julian G.

Exactly the same has just happened to me. Had to replace two cartridges that were reported empty, and put new cartridges in, with the orange tabs removed!!! Now nothing prints, from the computer, or even copying something....just blank pages, and yes the scanner is working. Printer appears to be printing, with paper pickup, head movement, as though it was printing, but just nothing on the page. I've tried multiple nozzle cleans.

Is there a way with MX 926 to get it to print 2 or 4 pages on the SAME page? My MP640 which just died used to do this brilliantly

it is a bit tricky as depends on which application you are printing from, e.g. within Word you select File --> Print --> Copies & Pages and then you will see a Layout option (number of pages to 1 page). You can select double sided and B&W there too.

Why wont my MX926 Canon Printer print onto my cd labels?

I went through the same heart arch tried for 4 hours then after 5 emails to Canon I got someone with some knowledge and was able to print to DVD but you have to bring your existing labels in and save them in canon format EL8, the old program CD label print was easy but apparently they don't have the license anymore, here is how it is done it is a pain.
Please download and install Easy-PhotoPrint EX on your computer, and then follow the steps outlined below to create blank template and use it in printing CDs and DVDs.

Easy-PhotoPrint EX Ver.4.7.0 (Windows)
http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/9/0200004929/01/eppx-win-4_7_0-en.exe

- Once the software is installed, open Easy-Photo Print EX.
- Select any template.
- Skip 'Select Image' and go directly to 'Edit'.
- Delete any text boxes or grey boxes.
- Click on the symbol on the right for 'Change Background'. THIS INSTANCE ONLY, click on No Background and click OK.
- This should leave you with a blank CD template.
- Click File, and then click Save As. I recommend creating a folder in My documents for CD Printing, and perhaps save it as 'Blank CD'.
- Close Easy-Photo Print EX.

Not an answer, so my apologies. I am trying to give away some ink cartridges.
My MX926 just died and I had recently stocked up on unbranded ink cartridges from inkwarehouse.com.au (expiry date 2022). 5xblack and 1each yellow/magenta/cyan.
I'll happily post to you if in NSW as I can't stand the thought of the wastage.

If you lift the top cover as if you a going to copy from the flat bed, you will see a strip af glass running from top to bottom on the left hand side. [about 1.5 cm wide]. Clean this glass strip to remove any dirt or marks. You can use a solvent like metho. This should solve your problems.
