Not an answer, so my apologies. I am trying to give away some ink cartridges.
My MX926 just died and I had recently stocked up on unbranded ink cartridges from inkwarehouse.com.au (expiry date 2022). 5xblack and 1each yellow/magenta/cyan.
I'll happily post to you if in NSW as I can't stand the thought of the wastage.

I installed my MX926 the other day & it printed just fine (Wireless) but today it won't print (Wireless) at all. What do I have to do to get it to print again?

does the printer have a ribbon? when it prints there are parts missing that don't print. I have replaced all the inks, so they are full

Gary

The printer does not have a ribbon. It has a print head assly that is made up of many very tiny tubes that contain the ink. Arround each of these hundreds of micro tubes is a heating element that when activated causes o bubble to form in the tube that ejects ink onto the paper. [BubbleJet printer]. If any of these get blocked due to use of incorrect formula ink [some poor quality NON CANON inks can do this] poor prints are the result. Print quality may be restored by performing a couple of head cleans via maintenance icon on the printer.

I have a brand new just out of the box MX926 printer and set up has only got as far as aligning the printer heads, which, after 16 + tries, it cannot do. Error 2500. I can't get past this. Does this mean the printer heads are faulty. Is there any way to get past this error.

If it's brand new, maybe try contacting Canon under warranty. Sounds faulty. Ask for a refund. ;-)

If you can do a photocopy on your printer then the printer is not the problem. I would suggest downloading from the canon web site the latest software for your operating system including Image Garden if you are using windows.

Don't worry It is the problem of printer software. Please update the printer software and restart your printer and PC. wait for 10 min. Then start printing and scanning it will start working. It happens some time so nothing to panic. If you need to ask more question canon printer support call at Toll free number 1-800-243-1403

I can only get up to 600 DPI on the scan settings for this but I bought it because it advertises 2400 dpi. Can someone explain why this is the case?

I had the same issue but found that you need to use the ScanGear software. The higher resolution is only available with platin scans and not using ADF.
When the Select Source is Platin, the Output Resolution has a selection up to 1200 dpi, but it allows you to type in a value from 25 dpi to 19200 dpi.

I purchased a canon MX 926 printer for the express purpose of printing my photos and text onto a printable disc.
Since having windows 10 put on I don't seem to be able to access anywhere where I can do this however I had done this many times before. Would you please advise an answer to this problem?

I would suggest downloading the latest compete MP driver for win 10. Turn off the printer And delete the old driver. Run the downloaded EXE file and re-install yor printer. If this does not work see if you can copy an existing CD using the printer only [not from PC] If this doesnt work then the problem is with the printer. If it is still under warranty then you will need to take it to an authorised warranty centre. CanCalc in Victoria Park WA is the one for Perth.

You should update the printer driver according the computer OS for Canon Official website. After updating try to printer or scan something if your still facing the same problem then call at Toll Free Number 1-800-243-1403 or Visit at http://www.canonprintersupport.us/

how can i scan using the canon mx926? It used to work through Image Garden on my old computer but it wasn't copied to my new windows 10 computer. There is a button the copier that says :Scan: but it doesn't do anything. Please help

Hi Lainey, are you using a PC or a Mac? The Canon software for PC is very ordinary at the moment but maybe I can help.

OZSYD
OZSYD

I use it on a Win 10. Open all APPs on the start menu - Under canon utilities, open IJ scan utility. Select settings, enter the options you want such as sending the output to image garden, then close it. You will go back to IJ Scan utility. Now you can select Auto, document, etc. If this software is not yet installed, go to

Thanks. I wish things would stay the same. I hate changing computers because they change things on me all the time.
Image Garden took a long time to work out this looks much easier. I don't play with pictures just scan the odd document to send somewhere. thank you again.

Does this model give you a "Vivid Photo" option in the settings?

1 answer
Chris May
Chris May

First, my apologies for not being able to answer your question directly as I cannot recall any settings named "Vivid" from the printer's control panel and really couldn't be bothered to check it out.

These days, you camera or mobile phone would probably be able to do fair a bit "vivid" effects on your photos. If not, almost any image editing software either on your phone or on your computer - e.g. Image Garden which comes with the printer - will do the magic. It is probably the worst to have the printer to perform such tasks as it has limited computing power, a tiny (barely) colour screen, and awkward controls.

Out of the box, with genuine ink and some decent photo pager (I use Epson Glossy), this printer does a good job, by which I mean the interpretation of the colour is authentic. The picture may be slightly grainy compared to professional grade printers but it is acceptable for a All-in-One unit like this.

So hope the above text in some way answered your question. All the best.

Greetings from far-away Canada!
Unable to find a page for the Canon 1025if Printer so here goes:
Canon 1025iF & Mac Driver (El Capitan).
Cannot figure out how to print from the Stack Bypass (Envelopes, Fine Paper, Pre-printed checks) without having to manually change the machine settings.
Is there a way to control this acton from the Mac Pro (as with HP Products)?
Many thanks for any suggestions!!

Hi, I also have this printer and cannot fathom how to print envelopes especially DL the commonly used size for all industry. Can someone tell me how to print envelopes - DL that is.

JMB
JMB

Figured it out!
Had to fiddle with the Settings under the Print Menu in Word
Create your envelope template -->Print
Go through the Paper Handling & Paper Feed options in the drop-down menu
Once you place your envelope/Cheques/Fine Paper in the Stack Bypass tray, the printer will pick from that tray rather than the built-in paper tray(s).
Good luck from Canada!

Can I use my pixma mp620 ink containers in This newer model ? I have a very good not so old mp620 that just died with the print head bug

No - the MX926 uses 651 / 650 ink cartridges, and by doing a quick google search to get the details of the MP620 it uses 521 / 520 cartridges - they are not the same
(https://www.canon.com.au/en-AU/Personal/Products/Home-and-Office-Printing/Printers/PIXMA-InkJet-Printers/MP620).

What is the print quality like for text and slso for photos a5 up to a4?

1 answer
FarmBoy
FarmBoy

I've only really printed 6x4 photos so far, nothing as large as A4 so can't really comment on that. 6x4 photos (taken from a high res camera) look fine, though they will start to get a banding effect when your ink levels are close to empty for one or more cartridges (which I guess is to be expected).

How do you print double sided?

1 answer
Shenanigans
Shenanigans

If you're using Windows, easiest way is to tick "double sided" printing from the print dialogue pop up box at the time of printing.

You can also go in through Control Panel > Printers > Printer preferences to make double sided printing the default.

If using on an CrApple computer - I have no idea. I won't touch 'em.
