Worst Experience In My Life
This is the worst store that I seen in my life. Really I don't understand how they are still opened. I was awaiting my item for 56 days when I discovered that they did not have my item in stock in no refund at all. Please don't buy anything in this store if you don't want to have trouble in your life. Trust me I am in shock what is happening.

Dishonest business practices
Ordered on the first - payment failed
ReOrdered same day - payment accepted, receipt issued.
Update on the Second - order accepted, parts out of stock 2-3 day delay
On the 4th my bank confirmed payment
Update on the eighth - we only just received the money from 'payway' but now price change, you have to pay more....

Disgusting Customer Service - boycott this horrible business so they go bankrupt
Terrible communication, bad customer service. I'm pretty forgiving generally but I cannot accept this disgraceful business' customer service. Received email saying my order is delayed, can pick up on Monday (instead of Friday). Went in on Tuesday and was advised my order was cancelled and item sold to someone else because I did not pick it up immediately on the Monday. No email, no communication of any kind...so bad luck to me. They have lost another customer forever. I urge everyone else to do the same. There's plenty of other fantastic businesses out there that deserve your custom.

Integrity? What integrity?
I had specifications for a router and discussed them with the man at the desk. I was told that the router I had originally intended to buy would not work and I was guided toward a more expensive one I was told would work. It did not. I returned and asked for an exchange and this was refused. A number of excuses were given as the man proceeded to try to win an argument rather than address why I had been given incorrect information. No apology was given for the mis-selling. In front of another customer, the man proceeded to encourage me to lie to...Read more
the manufacturer so that the product would be declared defective. Then, he said, I would be able to return the product. I'm used to dealing with people who have integrity and who stand by the advice they give. I found him reprehensible, pathetic and a conman. Please don't make the same mistake I did and shop elsewhere

Customer service is dead at this place
The Notting Hill store wanted to charge me $50 to update the BIOS on a motherboard they sell so it could support AMDs new Gen 3 Ryzen CPUs (older boards wont boot at all with the new CPUs otherwise). They are entitled to charge for BIOS updates of course since they can't just offer the service for free to everyone but they wanted to charge me this fee even if I purchased all the parts from them myself. As I was about drop ~$900 in parts for a new build this rubbed me the wrong way. The job would have taken a skilled technician about 5-10 minute...Read more
s and it's the kind of thing that a decent computer store with technicians onsite wouldn't have hesitated to do to make a sale and generate some good faith which could have translated to future business and free word-of-mouth advertising. That's too much to ask of some outfits I guess so I took my business to another retailer 5 minutes away. Same parts, same prices, same request, and I was greeted with customer service excellence instead. In every respect. The CPL store had a cold, clinical sort of vibe that seemed to be reflected in their corporate attitude towards customers whereas there are other places that are warm, friendly, and all too willing to do a customer a good turn. While this wasn't exactly a bad experience, it was nonetheless a negative one.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Monitor went bad in 6 months, refused refund or replacement after several failed attempts at repair
Purchased a Dell U2718Q which broke within 6 months. Was advised to seek support from manufacturer directly, which I did but ended up being a giant waste of time as Dell have replaced my monitor with defective refurb units twice now.
After the 2nd failed attempt at repair, CPL laughed me off the phone when I asked for refund or replacement, telling me that my only recourse is with the manufacturer. This is not right for a (now) 8 month old monitor, especially one this expensive.
Don't be tempted by their cheap prices, it's not worth it for the terrible after-sales support they provide.

Sold me a Defective Monitor, wont exchange or refund
As the title says, they sold me a defective monitor with dead pixels running through the screen but refused to let me exchange for another one. When I bought the item I've noticed the dead pixels straightaway so I returned to the store the next day to ask for an exchange but they basically told me to take it up to the manufacture and go through them. With me driving back and forth to the store trying to get an exchange I just gave up with them and I had to get my money back through the bank.
Will never buy from this company ever again

Had no problems
I've only ever used this store for on the spot, emergency purchases of power supplies or hard disk drives.
Been to both Nottinghill and West Melbourne stores.
Never had a problem.

Absolutely Poor Service - Avoid Them
I took my desktop to the Notting Hill stores to fix up a few issues with Windows 10 and install Office 2016 and additional hard disk space. The person who is supposed to carry out these jobs looked uninterested, did not pay any attention when I explained the issues. When I went to pick up my desktop, I wanted to check a few things. This person hurriedly switched off the computer without letting me check the computer. He was so arrogant in his approach. He showed no concern to my repeated requests. When I reached home, I noticed the address b...Read more
ook in outlook was missing, all the documents in Office were in "read only" format. When I took this issue with their Manager, he checked with his "expert" and told me these issues cannot be fixed. I then requested another computer expert who fixed up these issues in no time. Please avoid this place at any cost. You will be wasting your money.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great range of computer peripherals at excellent prices!
The website is the main way of browsing stock. For the most part, the website was able to handle lots of searching, occasionally slowing down or not displaying pages at all, but when it finally did work, I managed to shop around for my graphics card. Great range, and prices were very good! I selected pick-up from Preston store. I had the GPU for about a week before it had issues, so I took it back. Within a few weeks of having it sent away to be tested, they replaced it for me with a brand new one. Customer service was good, although when it gets busy, there's only 2 guys on during the weekend, so I feel sorry for them. Having no issue with the GPU now. Would recommend this company to anyone.

Great service
I went in looking for a charger in a total panic (going away 2 days later and really need the equipment before I leave) and although they didn't have the item they were really quick and found a supplier. Item was in the next day and there was no hassle and the price was reasonable. Really happy with the speed and kindness of the service! Thanks guys :)

Good until something is DOA or faulty
Bought multiple items, UPS was faulty, organised a video of the fault, get told replacement waiting in store when I brought it back for DOA replacement was refused, even though they say 7 day DOA policy and faulty product after 3 days, they make MSY and centrecom look awesome in comparison

Didn't supply and refunded after 10 days
CPL was unable to supply the laptop that was advertised but failed to tell me. After 2 days, I discovered they were awaiting my instructions as the line was discontinued... but they didn't email or text me about this. Having paid money in the absence of credit card facilities, it has taken almost 2 weeks after paying them to receive a refund ... I should get that on Monday. Like reviews below, they repeatedly told me it was 1-3 days before I'd receive it, but we now have same-day bank transactions and they would not provide a copy of the bank remittance to confirm payment. They have had the use of my money for almost 2 weeks. They will not receive our business in the future.

Failed to 'deliver'.
Decided to buy a new PC gaming chair; would have normally gone to PC Case Gear, but they didn't have the colour and type I wanted, so turned to CPL. Order went through great, I paid via direct transfer and payment went through.
Got a text a couple days later saying my order was ready for pick up. Drove there after work only to find out 'we only have 1 'in stock', and it's the display model'. My order had not been prepared to pick up whatsoever. Ensue another 20-30mins standing around waiting for them to organise it -said 'screw it' in my mind....Read more

Nonexistant service obligation.
Woeful.
And I found out the hard way. Bought a $600 computer from them which after 18 months suddenly failed to boot and should have been covered by warranty. After ringing their service department I got told that the repair was none of their responsibility and that I should contact Gigabyte for any support.
I then contacted Gigabyte in Taiwan and after several days received their response. What they effectively told me was that they do not handle warranties in this manner and that I needed to pursue the matter through the store that I had purchased it from.
I then contacted CPL again via email but this time was completely ignored.
The salient lesson: Take your custom elsewhere.

all good until when there is faulty part
I'm a computer technician or reseller you can say. I've been buying mostly from MSY or occasionally from Centrecom up until last year i started buying from CPL (from their new preston store). All good until when there is faulty part, they refuse to change it or refund. First time was graphic card, ok. That one i stock it for 3 months before i got to sell it and found it was faulty so they said 3 months from the date of purchase they have to do warranty. Fair enough! So bought another graphic card as i needed it for the customer while the other ...Read more
one goes to warranty ( 3+ weeks now still waiting). Next i bought a hdd docking station for myself as work tool. Put a 3.5" harddrive in and couldn't detect it. Then try again with a brand new 3.5" hdd, still couldn't detect my harddrive. So return it and ask for a swap/refund. Again, they couldn't do that, they said have to send it over to their HQ, test and verify first. Basically have to wait another 1.5 month or longer?? So thinking what happens if everytime part is faulty i have to buy another one again and do warranty on other one? Unless it's urgent, if possible i try not to buy from them.Similar opinion? They sell stock they don't have
I made two purchases from these guys. In both cases their website showed stock and they took payment yet days later would inform me that they don't have stock. After accepting similar items offered by CPL as an exchange I was then later informed that they didn't check and don't actually have the replacement stock they offered me, after already processing payment and partially refunding the original order. So now I have a tangle of partially filled and refunded orders and no apologies or make goods from CPL. To make it even worse, the last refun...Read more
d that they have to provide me now said it would be processed in 1 - 3 days. It is 5 days later and I don't have a refund. Definitely one of the worst customer buying experiences. I purchase regularly off various computer parts outlets and this is definitely on the bottom of the list now. Maybe they have some good staff but I dealt with a guy called [name removed] and he was dry and unapologetic, and I'd suggest perhaps some customer service training because one 'we're really sorry' can go a long way when you mess someone around.Similar opinion? No warranty from CPL, liars! Stay away from CPL!
Stay away from this company, because if your item will become faulty they will not replace it straight away, but instead they will send it to their supplier first to verify if its faulty and it will take 1.5 months before you can get a refund or a replacement. So in fact they simply resell product from other companies and have no their own warranty on what they sold. In best case you will wait 2 months before you will get any result.
