Fantastic outdoor kitchen, Customer service second to none!
4B Outdoor Kitchen TC4K-10The BBQ gets hot nice and quick and cooks a great steak, chops, pizza or sausages. I've been experimenting with the rotisserie and that has given some delicious results. There were some small issues with the kitchen but they were handled quickly and professionally by Crossray which made the whole experience a pleasure and didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. The self-cleaning feature is great! I have this setup as an island, I think the back could look a bit better but I might get something made up, or just live with it. I've included a picture of the back prior to the kitchen being put in place, the pipes are now inside the cabinets and you can't see them.

Poor Customer Service
4-Burner TrolleyPurchased through Bunnings (special order) as this was/is the only local supplier. Waited 4 Weeks but no word of anything. Rang for a follow-up and was told they (crossray) had dispatched the BBQ to Armidale NSW instead of Armadale WA.
Oven though an error on their behalf, they refused to release another until they recieved the one they incorrectly sent to NSW was sent back, asking me to wait until this happened. I had steak needing grilling! Cancelled the order!

4-Burner TrolleyThe 4 burner Crossray bbq is as good as it’s advertised performance suggests. The brochures giving recommended heating levels as well as menu options make the whole cooking experience a breeze.

Amazing cooking experience - Magnificent Customer Service
4-Burner TrolleyAfter many years using Weber I decided to try the infra red style. Well, results were quite sensational! Quick to heat, incredibly high temperatures if required and results on a thick rib eye were restaurant quality! Some experimenting to do on other meats and veg which I’m looking forward to. So far four of my mates are each considering purchasing a CrossRay unit.
Support from my retailer GC Fireplace & BBQs and customer service from CrossRay team has been first class. Highly recommended.

Misrepresented
InfraredThe electric infrared version looks good but has no heat control. It is either very hot and burns the item being cooked or it is off. No regulater to control the temperature. Impossible to use as a BBQ. Very disappointing. When I bought it this was not pointed out to me and the two settings for heat refers to the front and rear plate infrared heaters. Only having one on and then using the plate without the burner still burns the item being cooked as the temperature is close to 300 degrees.

Love the BBQ, love the customer support
4-Burner TrolleyI am new to BBQs and had a fantastic experience with Crossray's customer service, with them looking after me and helping me fix my mistakes. If you want a BBQ with local backing, Crossray is perfect.
I also love the flavour and the rôtisserie. The food tastes as if it was done over a charcoal grill. The person who put it together said it was great quality. For once we are better off in Australia than in the rest of the world for a product.

... Read more for 10 minutes with the hood down and you have a pyrolitic effect. I cook lamb, fish, and vegetables. They all work out well. The BBQ worked well in quite a bit of wind. I am a beginner with BBQ but good at researching and this is the best BBQ I could find under $10,000.
Great cooking, pain to clean
4-Burner TrolleyFirst to the cooking (5/5). We use the BBQ at least three times a week and it does an excellent job. It is quick to reach cooking temperature and maintains a good even heat over the whole cooking area. We eat a lot of meat and getting a good sear on a steak is no problem at all. It doesn't seem to use much gas compared to other BBQs that I have used.
The only negative is cleaning (3/5). Compared to my other BBQ (a stainless steel Jumbuck) it is a pain to clean. There a lots of difficult to clean places where fat accumulates and needs to be removed. The design would also be helped if the v-shaped drip tray was a little further from the burners. This would reduce flare ups that occur when cooking fatty meats.

Awesome BBQ
4-Burner Built-InI concur with pretty much everyone on here, that this bbq is the bees-knees. It does take a little getting used to as others have mentioned. It burns way hotter than conventional gas flame grills. The low setting is still very hot, so I moved to using the dial at about 11pm on a clock face, and experimenting with that.. It still gives you a lot of heat, but far more manageable with hotplate, and grill. Love the bbq!
The spread of heat is what sets this bbq apart from the rest. You dont get any hot/cold spots. I had an Everdure Furnance refunded (eventually), it was that bad, and replaced it with this bad boy - no regrets whatsoever.
Still a bit of a pain to clean, but what BBQ isn't!
Beyond my expectations
4B Outdoor Kitchen TC4K-04The only bbq I've ever owned that heats and cooks evenly across the whole grill. The temperature is easily and quickly controlled and is amazingly quick to heat up (and gets super hot if you want it to!).
Very little flare ups from fat dripping and relatively easy to clean.
Super easy to use and looks great. Just bought the additional natural gas conversion kit, flat plate and rotisserie too.
I was sceptical when I first bought it and they aren't cheap but now I know it's worth every cent.
I'm super impressed and won't go back to a 'traditional' bbq!

It is as good as the reviews say
4-Burner Built-InI had high expectation on this BBQ given the great reviews and honestly, it is better than I had hoped.
I ordered through Bunnings and the first one had been dropped (a number of times possibly) off the back of a truck. I contacted crossray direct and they shipped out replacement very quickly. Great service.

The outside did discoulour a bit after testing our the self cleaning feature, so I wouldnt necessarily recommend that. I use it so regularly anyway that it is getting cleaned every few days with an easy wipe down inside. It wasnt the cheapest BBQ out there, but it was not the most exxy either. Can anyone comment on the quality of the fridge? Will it keep things cool on a hot summer day? I can’t see any specs anywhere.
Hi recently purchased for burner barbecue and built into outdoor kitchen.
Had it converted to natural gas by a licensed plumber.
The knobs now only work in reverse… So when you turn it to what is indicated as a cooler temperature on the knob, it actually turns the temperature up.
Has anyone else had this issue? I contacted crossray and they told me that’s the way it’s meant to be… Strange!
And the other issue, is when you try turn the temperature down (which is indicated as up on the burner!) it ends up turning the gas off all together… It is very sensitive and there is no limiter on the knob when turning clockwise.
I have not been able to find any information or reviews on using a wok with this BBQ, other than the statement on the website which just says you don’t need one. There is no reference to it at all in the brochure and nothing on all the YouTube videos. Can anyone help please?
You can't use a wok with this BBQ. I purchased the flat plate accessory which is excellent and it roasts well but the wok option is not available. If I was redoing the review I would give it a lower score for cleaning (it really is a pain) but it cooks brilliantly. People who design household equipment should be forced to clean them!
Thanks for answering. Have you actually tried using the wok on the grill as they say you can? I was on the verge of buying this yesterday, now I am not so sure. We don’t cook a lot of meat and am also worried it may be too hot for us cooking fish anyway.
Fish on the hotplate is fine.. as long as you have the burners on the lowest settings. As people have mentioned on here, this thing burns hot, as it's designed to do, but can cater for any types of meat, fish included. You just have to experience it. It's a great BBQ. Never done any wok cooking on it to be honest - cant be of help there. There is no wok burner, and not sure why you'd put a wok on the grill section, or hot plate?
