Avoid
I have a Dell Inspiron 13" i7 purchased in late 2017. It is my second Dell and will be my last. There are several issues which can be managed, but together make this a frustrating machine to be avoided. 1. The SD Card slot doesn't fully insert making easy to be dislodged and become corrupted when accidentally ejected. 2. The graphics card drives are insufficient for the job. If I leave an app open on the 2nd screen and then shut down and power up without the 2nd screen, the machine still thinks it is attached and the app is still open on that ...Read more
screen. 3. If open a video on the laptop screen and slide it to the 2nd screen, it cut the video in half and repeats the two halves. 4. Support in Oz is woeful. It seems the support team are poorly trained and have trouble getting their systems to work to log in and look at the issues. After some frustrating time, I have given up. 5. The graphics drivers have difficultly maintaining a picture for the 2nd screen and often resets. 6. Boot Up. whilst being an i7 with heaps of memory, the system is still painfully slow and has difficulty multitasking. 7. The keyboard has issues with the ""Quotes"" regardless of the application, as I have to enter them twice before they show, as exampled. Is is an old issue that appeared early in 2000 and the fault was the keyboard driver. It appears that Dell are still using old drivers to make the Laptop work. As an IT engineer, I was looking for a good machine and the specs appears more than adequate, but in practice, this machine is only for very small operations and doesn't have the grunt do to much of anything. In my professional ICT engineering opinion, Dell is only sufficient for very light or Home use despite the specifications and not for SOHO use as it will disappoint. My 1st Dell was an over spec'd unit but still exhibited similar issues. As time went by, the problems grew to become too much to work around forcing me to dump it well before its time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ordering online – Warning !!! Delivery times are way wrong
Be careful when ordering anything online – delivery times are way wrong (4 weeks, direct from china)
1. Ordered a replacement part for my Dell online.
Checked delivery times before placing order (see attached inages)
Once ordered an email came saying delivery is in 4 weeks (ordered 4/9 planned delivery 05/10)
I rang them and had an online chat. Noone could tell me why the website is wrong. (Said this was standard practice.)

Perfect AIO Dell Desk Top, never missed a beat!!
Purchased on line, touch screen, AIO 7777 from Dell, without any issues or faults on delivery or the machine. Set up and software installed was first class and it has continued to excel in all areas. The screen is first class sharp clear and the touch element is sensitive and responsive. The hardware itself is excellent without having any issues with startup speed being excellent and all software displayed below the tool bar without issues. Dell's inbuilt camera works seamlessly and has integrated with skype, messenger and others to give grea...Read more
t quality visuals across Australia and overseas. The sound system built in is also of a high quality and works with all aspects of film and audio. Speed of the disk is good although any issues I find are with the internet connection rather than the PC having lagging effects. Although not cheap the performance has been worth the money and would not hesitate to buy Dell again. ( Which I did with a lap top )Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Had to cancel my order - still haven’t received a refund
I bought a laptop from the Dell website. I freely admit I made the mistake of buying the laptop from the small business section of the site, it was a complete accident. I explained the situation and asked for the order to be cancelled and a refund.
At that point they cancelled my order and said the refund would be 5-7 working days. That time past without the receiving a refund.
I contacted them again. This time they need 24-48 business hrs to look into and get back to me. When they get back to me, they’re apologetic and say it will be anothe...Read more
r 3-5 working days. OK, fine. So, I wait a bit longer. Currently, it is the 6th working day (from the 3-5 day promise)without any further response or money. Overall, it is the 17th working day after then cancellation and they still need to return ~$1,250.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good and cheap wireless keyboard and mouse combo
Purchased the 580-AEWP Dell Keyboard and Mouse Combo-KM636-Black, it's the perfect size keyboard I hate these new ones that are really slim and don't have a keypad or the ones that are just too damn big and bulky, this is a normal size keyboard and mouse without the bells and whistles and for under 50 bucks! I think it is an absolute bargain! Does the job! It was delivered to my front door in 3 business days

Technical support is horrible
Bought a laptop and the mousepad failed after attempts to fix via steps online called suppport and they tried to connect remotely, it didn’t work. Then after one hour on the phone he said he’d call back never did. Tried to call again and they couldn’t help said they’d call back, they never did they closed the log and I’m left hanging. Will never buy a Dell again because of this.

Dell employ scammers
Dell corporation are scammers. Stole $2100 from my account for a $65 service call to repair laptop and customer service will do nothing to rectify this issue, except to charge another $500+ for another service call to repair laptop. Now over $3000 out of pocket and still have a broken laptop

XPS 15 - Great all around laptop
A review from my friend about the Dell XPS 15 (9570):
I purchased the Dell XPS 15 (9570) about 9 months ago from a local retailer and have loved it so far. Great specifications for my needs and presumably for most people’s needs as it has plenty of power and features. Battery life is great, as long as you're not doing heavy workloads on battery power, but lasts a full 10 hour day at uni for me perfectly. The screen (I have the 4K version) is amazing. It looks great, colour accuracy is great and it gives a great picture. Unfortunately, the camer...Read more

3 Dell laptops. All major problems, no support
Purchased 3 Dall laptops. All have major problems. Customer support wastes my time, no refund, no replacement, no repair. They have loads of irrelevant excuses and never take responsibility. Please please please do not buy Dell.

Absolute rubbish and customer service is a joke
I bought this laptop in June, and when it turned up one of the USB ports did not work - no worries there is another 2 that work fine. A few months later the battery died and I got the black screen of death telling my it was an incorrect battery and can no longer be charged. I logged a call with dell in October for a refund and it has been 2 months and I keep getting transferred between departments and people. I have not had a satisfactory explanation or an offer of help. The customer service of Dell is unfortunately an off shore call center and it seems it is impossible to speak to someone in Australia. Unfortunately this has lowered my expectation of Dell to the bottom of the pile. Faulty products and terrible customer service
