16 years and still going strong
It came with the business I bought and has done hundreds of hours of work. I have recently upgraded to makita battery hedger but still keep this one for big and woody hard jobs. Love it still powers on!

Frustratingly difficult machine.
I have an Echo HCR 1500, the wretched thing being nothing more than a very expensive piece of junk, the problem being that it won’t start if it’s been idle for a few weeks. There are plenty of other brands out there for which I encourage anyone to consider any other brand than Echo.

I've owned mine for about 6 years; agree with most of what you say, they're a good little unit. However, they aren't strong enough to tackle the heavier branches that the Stihl HS45 will. Having said ... Read more
that, they do a far better job on fine hedges than the Stihl does. Horses for courses!
