I've been trimming my hedges for quite some time, 12 years to be exact. I've used other brands, and even used the old fashioned manual type. Unfortunately the other brands didn't cut the hedges fine enough the way I'd like, and using the manual tools was tiring. Two weeks ago I purchased the HSA 56 with an extra battery (AK20). inished the job in half the time. I've used this on my fine box hedges and Italian cypress. The blades are strong enough to cut through a branch 1.5 centimetres thick. The battery (AK20) lasts for ever. I used it today for over an hour, and the battery level was still showing 3 out of 4 bars left. To sum up, buy this trimmer. Stihl products are built to last.Purchased in August 2021 at Plenty Mowers for A$468.50.

Great product
Tossed up between a petrol or rechargeable
Ended up with the 56, great trimmer plenty of cutting power makes trimming a breeze, especially the creeper covering the concrete water tank that has quite thick branches.
Purchased in July 2021 for A$379.00.

Wife loves it.
Very easy to use, not to heavy and does a good job. My wife really enjoys using it. Trimmed a lot of her small trees and shrubs without a problem and still had two bars on the battery.

Great device
Never used a hedge trimmer before, only a chainsaw or secateurs.
I already had the Stihl HTA 85 pole saw so I had the expensive battery & charger, so it made it not so expensive.
This cut all my small hedge area much better than I expected and very quickly.
Should have bought one a long time ago.
