Fair Trading contacted me after I lodged a claim and they basically said there's nothing they can do for me. Cooling off periods only apply to contracts in Australia under certain circumstances like ...
Read moredoor to door sales, shopping centres sales etc. They don't apply to dating agencies. Please stop taking money from my Credit Card I und a permanent partner. I have tried in the past but you still continue.
I think you need to email eharmony for that to happen. That isn't something I can assist with.
Only things I can suggest are:...
Read more(If your subscription has ended) *Email them. *Login via website, cancel future payments *Call your bank, prevent Eharmony from billing you. If your subscription is still going, unfortunately eharmony will continue to charge you. Their structure is set up for greed, not customer satisfaction. There is no such thing as cancellation of subscription with a small fee option. All the best.I have put any emails from collection agencies straight junk folder, lets see if they can prove who i am...
What will be the description on my bank statement for my eharmony payment?
My friend who wishes to remain anonymous is confused about payment methods as when she checks out it only say full 6 month, 12 month or 24 month payment in full, but no sign of paying only in monthly installments hence why she's reluctant to pay premium as its too much to pay in one go. Can anyone help or explain please?
You pay monthly but its a contract either for 6 months, 12 months or 24 months. If you dont pay the monthly payment, they can send debt collections after you. Because its a contract, you are oblig...
Read moreated to pay every month for the term of the contract. They give you a 50% discount on the first month, but every month after that you pay the full monthly instalment. Tell her not to do it.I've blocked everything from them and refuse to pay another cent. Even cancelled my cards and got new ones issued. They are disgusting. Stand your ground against these hideous thieves!!!!!!!!
I am starting a class action lawsuit against Eharmony - they recently lost a 2.2 million dollar case in America and will lose here too. To start a class action there needs to be seven people who suffered a loss of the same - I want my money back from their dishonest auto renewal practices!
Get in touch if you want to get involved with the class action against these rip off merchants
They are harassing me also. I told them I joined on the belief there was a cooling off period. I used it less than a week! I'm all for fighting these con-artists.
I want to. They keep email me about the fee. After i joined this scam. My bankcard ..email ..phone got scam!! I will not pay for them! Fuxk eharmony
I’ll happily join! Just like many others they deducted $430.80 from my account. I lodged a dispute and had the money refunded. Then eHarmony sent email after email harassing me to pay $215.40. They re...
Read morefuse to issue me an account summary. Today, they’ve sent Collection House International debt collectors after me. Their case does not meet the burden of proof for a collection agency so I’m fighting them.Attention all eHarmony users please do not expect a real answer when you cancel your subscription and you do this by the correct protocol They are nothing but fraudsters. Signed by a former user in Australia

I am starting a class action lawsuit - if you are interested in joining (it costs us nothing but will cost them a lot!) then please get in touch.
A match and myself were both online and I was in the process of responding to a message when I received a goodbye message from her and a request to delete the match. Fortunately, I already had her phone number. The match says when she tried to review my profile she found it missing and assumed I had deleted it. My profile is still active (I hope). How could this happen?
I cancelled my subscription the same day more than 6 months ago after stupidly signing up. I also cancelled my card. I’ve had 2 emails from Collection house to pay $370. Anyone have them come knocking? I want to ignore and block the email. What should I do?
I can only suggests you read the Australian consumer law guide for unfair business practices and see if you find anything that can be applied to your case. It looks like there is no transparency in t...
Read morehe provided information considering there are so many complaints about their website and so many people confused about their memberships.I highly doubt anything more than threatening letters would get sent, hoping it would scare you enough to pay. Unsure about credit rating. I would block and ignore.
So do i need to pay the debt collectors that eharmony sent out? Can they persue any type of legal action against me, and can this affect my credit score?
i was unsure about this so i paid to avoid this effecting my credit score etc. Felt Very scummy. I would never ever do business with them again
I’m not sure what to do. Cancelled my account after 30 minutes of signing up. Now they’re chasing me for $760 AU. I’ve cancelled the membership, changed credit cards and reported them to the ACCC. It’...
Read mores been about 3 months now, emails keep coming. Do I just ignore their emails? At some point debt collectors will come. Do I ignore them too? $760AU is ridiculous for 30 minutes of a crap service. What will happen if I ignore debt collectors over this?
I’ve contacted their customer support and told them I can’t pay because I’ve lost wages due to covid and having them constantly contact me begging for money is causing me problems with my mental healt...
Read moreh. They’ve waived all the left over fees (over $200) Maybe try this. It’s true in my situationIf I signed up on the 19th Jan (monthly) and asked to cancel on the 23rd Jan, does a cooling off period apply? I'm in Victoria.
If not, cancelling my card is easy if they can't pursue debt collection.
I did exactly that too. I signed up on a Friday, it wasn't for me so I sent them a email on the Saturday. I cancelled my card, and now I have the collections onto me, stiff, I'm not paying. I'm in Victoria too
Rebecca sadly we in Australia don’t have any privileges of cancelling, cooling off etc.. I cancelled within 12 hours they said sorry you are locked in for 12 months ..I am going to block my card and see what happens
Hi all. I'm in Australia. I have been able to get them to cancel my account and I have cancelled my credit card so they can't keep charging me. I am still getting emails from them demanding payment. I cancelled my account 30 minutes after subscribing when I realised how much they are actually going to charge Me. If I just ignore the emails and don't pay will I get into trouble?
Hi Luke
eHarmony used to be very good, but IMHO they are now dreadful and not to be trusted.
Legally you have done nothing wrong - but I suggest you take these precautions:...
I have already cancelled my card. I am worried about debt collectors comming after me as I am a sole trader and can loose everything.
I too cancelled very soon after signing up. I cancelled my card and blocked them on emails. Maybe ring legal aid for some free advice.

Read moreet go and they make it impossible so that they can then fleece you of hundreds of dollars by tricking customers and making it so difficult to find them, call them and contact them. BUYER BEWARE this company is not reputable and need to be held to task by authorities. Stand up for yourself against these BULLIES!!! What they are doing is ILLEGAL.Does eharmony have a customer service number in Australia? I'm at my wits' end and am hoping that speaking to a real person over the phone might help.
I am unable to establish an Australian phone number, only US number so forced to communicate via email which takes 24 to 48 hours for each response : (
That's so frustrating! I'm having the same issue at the moment where the only mode of contact is email and I keep getting these generic pro forma customer service responses that aren't helpful.
eHarmony is certainly a rip off. I cancelled my subscription less than 24 hours after I [stupidly] signed up, only to be told they'd continue to deduct charges for 12 months. Now they are sending debt collectors after me. I cancelled subscription within 24 hrs and never contacted anyone online. Does anyone have any recommendations about stopping this???
Thank you. I contacted the Office of Fair Trading in Qld 24 hrs after I tried to cancel.and got a standard response...which said "....Where a consumer makes a purchase from an online business based ou...

Read morethey are not honouring that! They are liars and cheats.Update
I blocked eharmony from my gmail.
I called them multiple times and were getting aggressive with me.
My account was made without my consent. (Saying they done a full investigation) even though the account is a under a different name. Wouldn't the investigation had to be 100 true? Well i guess not! They didn't do a proper investigation
I called debt collectors (Australia) and legally they cannot take me to collections because they would waste their time for 135 dollars and Australia doesn't have its own set of terms and conditions.
And they cannot sue, or given court hearings or take someone to debt collectors.
Even if i do receive a phone call. I simply deny because the name is wrong and the account was made with my bank details stolen.
And on top of that its in a different country laws work differently between countries.
Their terms and conditions is terrible they do not even follow through without. It makes me angry how they state to read the terms and conditions yet Australia doesn't have terms and conditions and i cannot follow them. Sooo i ask myself (what can i follow"
They failed to respond.
They treated me today with email as follow I am in Australia
