Omg I love I love I love
I’m so satisfied with my Kate hair straightener it only takes like 30 ish seconds to get hot. I have very thick hair and it takes me 15 minutes to do all my hair. It’s very easy to use I originally bought the ghd and it broke on me twice after one use so then I got the ghd from hair house warehouse and it was the best decision ever.. it gives u a nice shine to ur hair and not make it dry cause if they plate on the flat iron.

No bad only
It’s not easy to use as the hair straightener is so heavy! The store manager kept promoting this one to me when i was in store that I didn’t even notice the weight of it, the hair straighter is just okay cuz the outcome of my hair after using that is not really good, it’s just normal, so please do not listen to what they recommend in store

Excellent hair straightener
I love my halo hair straightener, heats up quick, adjustable heat temperatures and it slides easily through my hair. After years of using ghds I can honestly say I 100% prefer the halo.

Perfect to heavy hair
Very happy with the product. I love to straighten my hair almost everyday and having this straightener has made my life heaps easier. its easier and quicker to get warmed up. My hair being too heavy, the results are beyond my expectations.

These reviews are FAKE! Worst straightener ever.
This is my first review and I’m joining because I hope no one else makes my mistake. About a year ago I went to buy a GHD or Cloud Nine based on their reputation but unfortunately I strayed into Hairhouse Warehouse where the sales assistant worked hard to sell me the Halo Kate. Unbelievably, I fell for it. Even in the shop I was second-guessing myself because it was very expensive (only slightly cheaper than a GHD), had no storage bag and the plates looked like they only touched at one end.
I have bleached blond hair, so I liked the feature of...Read more

Does a super job!
I only straighten my hair occasionally as it is very fine and doesn't like too much heat. I can get a great sleek look with this and feel that it stays within safe heat limits. It heats up very quickly and also gives very good control. I like it!

Recommended!
I got this on a friends recommendation. I have fine hair and have trouble with some overly hot hair straighteners. I got lovely results with this and can dial in the temperature just so. It heats up very quickly and has a super handy feature of shutting itself off if you forget and leave it on .

Thick wavy hair
I was looking for something that heated up fast and worked quickly with my thick, wavy hair and this has performed well for me for a few years now and still looks like new.
I mostly use it to run over my hair if its looking a bit frizzy or if a few of my waves are needing a tidy up. Don't often straighten my hair with it, use it for making nice waves

Effortlessly able to get sleek hair
This was the first “high end straightener” I’ve purchased previously using a VS Sassoon appliance. This is very much worth the investment.
The heat up time is honestly so quick, I usually wait about 10 seconds and start straightening, secondly at its highest setting it gives a very sleek finish to the hair that I haven’t been able to achieve from other straighteners I’ve had. For reference I have thick wavy to curly hair.
The curls with this straightener is also fanatastic and hold well. One useful feature of this straightener is that is wi...Read more
ll automatically cool itself if it thinks you’ve forgotten to turn it off and will beep multiple times to remind you to turn it off, I think this is so useful and perfect for someone who forgets to turn appliances off. Overall this is such a great product I think it’s worth the investment!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Switched from GHD
After having constant problems with GHD’s I decided to stray from what I had always used, and switch over to the Halo Kate after personal research and recommendations from hairdressers.
What can I say? It works like a dream. I have very thick and curly hair - and I can honestly say I have never had my hair end up as dead straight as what I can get it with this product. It’s smooth, effortless and the heat up time is quite fast.
With GHD I have to go over my hair every day for it to stay straight. However, with the Halo Kate, I can strai...Read more
ghten my hair once and leave it for several days until I wash it, with my hair remaining just as straight as the day I did it. (Less damage ✅ Less time consuming✅) It is also great when doing curls! I was very nervous and hesitant to go with this brand, but after trying it out - I can’t fault it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Had to cut all my hair off
I have super thick and wavy hair. Had a GHD before the halo which i loved but it was getting old. Was recommended the halo at the store. After a couple of months usage I noticed my hair was brittle and wirey to which my hairdresser said my hair straightener had totally destroyed my hair. I have had to have it cut off because nothing would repair it. Unfortunately it’s been to long for me to take it back to the store to get a refund. I’m devastated.

Happy Customer
I have had my Halo straightener for over a year now and I am pretty happy with it. I did however have it on the highest temp when I first started using it without knowing and snapped all my hair off so beware!! I now use it on approx 170-180 degrees and it works perfectly. My hair is overly curly and thick and I manage to straighten it all in about 15-20 mins. I would recommended giving it a try. I went through a GHD at least every two years and my halo is still going strong in less than that time but I believe it will last me a few more years

Great product
I went from a 10yr old GHD to this. GHD was still going strong, just felt I deserved an upgrade.
I have long thick bleached hair. I procrastinated and tried a couple in store. It destroyed my old GHD (as expected) and felt lovely on my hair. It is quick to heat up and easily glides through the hair. I have had it for 12months now and it hasn’t missed a beat. I am glad I didn’t bother with the more expensive types and this does the job perfectly.

Great but has drawbacks
It does tend to straighten your hair pretty unevenly due to the heating plates not meeting, I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. Besides from this, the straightener does an okay job and does leave your hair sleek.

Heating plates don’t meet and give uneven finish
The heating plates only meet at one end and so the end result is uneven. Very disappointed. I wish I had bought a different brand. Will be taking it back to the store of purchase to find out if it is a manufacturing fault or if it meant to be like this.

Great price great products
This straighter heats up fast and cools down really quickly. Good for thicker hair types but does not snag on hair.
Really good value for money and great warranty in place.

Returned the next day
Needed to replace my 10+ year old GHD that has served me well, and was so unsure about what to choose. Figured out that so many online reviews for OzHead etc weren't real, so decided to ask hairdresser friends. All three said GHD or Cloud Nine. Apparently Cloud Nine is the guy who started GHD... Cloud Nine sounds appealing, but expensive, and an unknown. Hard to purchase apart from online, and I like to look / touch before I buy.
Went to Hairhouse Warehouse to get a GHD. The lady there rubbished GHD and said she liked Halo Kate straightener (...Read more

Worst hair straightener and not worth the money
A couple of years ago I got The Kate hair straightener by Halo. My hair is a medium length and has a normal texture. My hair is naturally wavy and has a tiny bit of frizz. As ive had it for a couple of years now, I’ve realised the negative sides to this straightener and why there are so many better straighteners out there. First of all it never keeps my hair straight. Before every straighten I spray my hair with heat protector to help maintain straightness, I use straightening shampoo and conditioner and I also use argon oil at the roots of my...Read more
hair after every straighten. Even with these techniques its very hard to my hair to stay straight for atleast 2 hours let alone a full day. This is leading me to straighten my hair everyday which I shouldn’t be doing and which defeats the purpose of even buying this tool. The second reason why it’s not worth your money is because at the end of EVERY straighten around the edge of the plates you can see some with crispy stuff which is disgusting and having to clean it every day. I have been to hair shops and they have told me to turn up the heat which I have and still nothing has improved. It’s now on the highest heat which is ridiculous. I would definitely take this straightener back to the shop but the warranty has expired since it’s not long at all. Do not recommend this product at all under any circumstances, very disappointedSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Questions & Answers
Corey A.asked
I am very disappointed in the Hair straightener after 18 months one of the plates stopped working. I returned the straightener to Hairhouse Warehouse to have them replaced. The sales woman was so rude and was not interested. My daughter saved for a year to purchase the "best product" at the time. They were merticulously treated by my daughter and were never dropped. Up until the warranty issue they were fantastic, but with poor post sales service, I will be purchasing something else, not a halo and certainly not from Hairhouse Warehouse.

I just bought a Kate and the instructions say that you can use it in any country as has this specific feature built into it.
Corrie Hasked
Does anyone have the instructions around still? What do I need to chance to use it in a different country? (voltage-wise, since it’s dual-voltage)

Which straightener is better a ghd or a halo

I still use my old ghd that I have had for years. I am also now too scared to buy a new ghd because I have read so many bad reviews of them now too. apparently, they now make them in China and that's why they aren't as good anymore. I would still like a new ghd but scared of wasting my money yet again.
My hair is very thick and curly and with my old ghd my hair stays nice until the next time I wash it. When I used the Kate my hair was only nice for an hour or so then it was boofy and the next day my hair was all over the place.
The girls at hairhouse warehouse now say to use a titanium plates straightener but I still think I would stay away from the halo brand and try something else now.
GHD are now crap. Dont waste your money. My 10 year old plus GHD is way better than the new ones.
I just purhased one last week and used it yesterday. I had to get my old one out to finish my hair as the new one
just struggled to smooth it.
