Nice
I personally think that the car I chose to buy was a far more superior drive to even the newer ones I looked at. Performance is on tap, handling a little heavy, but I like that in a car. Hardly know it’s a diesel until you clock 900ks and still have room to move. Interior is hands on, easy to reach and navigate. Only dislike in this model/ year is where the window switches are located. Behind/ underneath door armrest. A little ‘ out of the way’ but 1st world problem. Being 6’2”, legroom is fantastic front and rear.

Great car. Best Ford ever!
The Mondeo is a great car. It has virtually all the same fittings and accessories as our Mercedes and cost significantly less. The only fault I can find with this car is that it is extremely difficult to get the ignition key in. It's tucked away behind the steering wheel and you really need to open the front door to find the keyhole!
Other than that it does everything really well, without fuss, and once a year servicing is economical

Fantastic family car!
Wow, what a great car our Zetec diesel has been. In 5 years we clicked just over 160,000 on the clock, without a single problem. The handling is great, the space is fantastic and the economy (genuine 6.3l per 100), for a car just a smidge smaller than a falcon, is off the planet! The only downside for us has to be the resale, I guess the popular vote goes to the SUV category, but as any of the other Mondeo owners will attest, you will regret getting a bigger car with less space.

Great car for a great price.
Without doubt the best car I've ever owned. I have a pretty loyal history with Ford, well with Ford falcons that's is. Have owned quite a few from a 78 xb falcon to an xr6 and xr8, sedan and station wagon, but the mondeo is by far the most superior. I can't believe the resale value on these cars, we got ours for a song. Had it for a year now, we bought a 2012 titanium for its beautiful, smooth, super fast driving experience and HUGE hatch size.... Aaaand for the seat warmers! down, and we have a golden retriever that sits comfortably in the back. It's very responsive, has without doubt the best breaks I've ever experienced. We have the petrol model and get up to 800kms a tank on open road even when packed full, less around the city, on average 600kms a tank I reckon. Great stereo, parking sensors everywhere makes it bliss to park, and oh those toasty heated seats!! Has brilliant cruise control, and this thing has major guts when you hit the excelerator yet hugs corners even in the wet seemingly effortlessly. I feel really really safe in this car. Which says something as the car we owned before this was a Land Rover Discovery, nice car but cost us a fortune in constant repairs. Had the mondeo almost a year and haven't spent a cent on it. It should be noted though, some early mondeos had problems with the transmission and when we first purchased ours there was a strange gear change shudder type sensation when taking off from stand still. Took it back to Ford to update it's software and it's been fine since. Great modern car for a great price, it has so many luxury features, great seats with automatic adjusting, automatic lights and wipers, Bluetooth etc, in fact the Audi dealer said this mondeo had more features than some of his top end Audi's. 95% Great car, very happy owner.
The driving dynamics of the Mondeo are fantastic. I drive a 2011 Titanium Diesel with the Powershift. Currently on around 112,000km after purchasing the car with 107,000km. One of the things I love is the hydraulic assisted steering which gives you a proper drive feel compared to most electric assisted steering systems. Diesel engine is a gem of a motor. t with a little bit of urban driving. Fuel light came on when i arrived in Torquay at 1059km and filled up with 11L remaining which could easily get an extra 150km. Car is jam packed with features such as radar cruise control, voice control, follow me home, cornering headlamps which are a big plus. Overall very impressed with the car. Only cons are a few creaks in the cabin when driving, powershift hesitation at takeoff, especially when pulling out of a driveway whilst turning left or right. Would recommend!2 comments
Update 2: Managed to trade car in with a PowerShift on its last legs. Now I drive an FGX Falcon. Back to a slush box transmission so good!

Great car - Bad Air con
Overall I've been very happy with my 2011 Zetec Mondeo Hatch. Fuel economy is good in the diesel and handles very well with a large boot. The only let down is the Aircon. It's blowing hot air and fuses. Taken it to Ford three times and they can't fix it? Asked another Ford dealership in Adelaide and they advised me the cost would be too high and they would need to get it to an air conditioner specialist. He diagnosed it as It could be the compressor or bad earthing? as the gas was good.

Beware of the DSG
Well built car, ecoboost paired with power shift DSG was quick, smooth and responsive although slow to respond when pulling away from stopped. Equipment is a little dated now no screen for radio but it sounds great. I owned the Zetec and the seats were plain. Handling was good on fast sweeping bends but suspension was a little too soft for my liking. My owner experience didn't end well however as my service center didn't change the oil and filter in the DSG gearbox at 60000 kms resulting in the gearbox destroying itself at 90000 Kms. It is an $11000 fix! I traded it as it was and got less than $3000 for it.

3 Years On - Love the car - but cant get over the problems!
Alright folks I've had the car now for 3 years and 6 months - correction 3 years and 4 months, as it has spent almost 2 months at the dealership and the manufacturer.
This is over a cruise control issue that started in May 2014 and has not yet been resolved. Simply put either the cruise control refuses to disengage or it completely shuts off by itself, and there have been so many parts thrown at it over the last 22 months its not funny. Melbourne have it resolved (if they have, they sure haven't told us about it). Long story short, my car is being replaced with a new one, with contribution from us! Nevertheless I am here to review the car after 3 years of ownership and that is what I will do! From a performance perspective, very little has changed the long term fuel consumption average is 6.1L/100 nowhere close to the 5.3L/100KM that they claim, but still impressive as the car is also idled a fair bit both in winter and summer. There are no body squeaks or rattles for the 3 years and 95,000 kms that the vehicle has traveled and therefore would score the build quality 5/5. What I have noticed is that my vehicle has an issue with the wheels staying aligned, particularly excessive negative camber. The vehicle has wheel alignment corrected every 10,000 kms over the last 40,000kms. Resulting in uneven tyre wear and tyre life of approximately 45000kms. Would give this aspect a 2/5. I have to add that the vehicle has not been in any incident to compromise suspension/steering components. Perhaps just mine, or more common, yet to be determined.Similar opinion? I love my Ford Mondeo LX
I bought my mondeo with 24000 km on it. I nave put another 25000 kms and it hasn"t missed a beat. The 2.3 litre engine needs more power but, no complaints. A lovely car to drive with good safety and comfort. The handling is sure and stable and I like how itsits on the road. ld use a usb port and a reversing camera as they should be standard on any car these days. The bluetooth works well but the voice control was hard to learn. I am averaging about 9 litres per 100 kms and I think this is acceptable for this size of car. I like my mondeo and would recommend a mondeo to anyone wanting a family car with class, safety and poise. Just invest a few more dollars and buy the turbo petrol. The Almost Perfect Car
I am the proud owner of a diesel titanium hatchback and having owned many cars in my day this is the best by far. First the build quality is fantastic as it's built in Belgium and the engine is amazing. I get 1000kms from the 70l tank for the city cycle, it's got amazing tourqe for towing and still very zippy.
Very comfortable to drive, very solid (I was t-boned by a drunk driver doing 70kmh and the damage was surprisingly contained. Still written off so I went and got another mondeo).

Great Car
I bought a new Mondeo Titanium Ecoboost in 2011 after looking at numerous medium/large cars (Aurion/Camry, Liberty, Passat). I made the decision based on it's driving characteristics and value for money. After 4 years I am happy to say it's been a fantastic car! The Ecosboost engine is torquey and the transmission is smooth (once warmed up). The suspension and steering are much better than a Camry and it is a sporty drive. faultless and a pleasure to own. Where this car really wins me over is the technology that was fitted STANDARD to this vehicle - Radar cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, dual zone climate control, turning headlights, parking sensors, keyless entry/start, rain sensing wipers, auto high beam, heated seats etc etc. That combined with alloys, sunroof, leather trim for a $44K car new make it a winner. (The only thing that was missing in 2011 was GPS). This car was built in Belgium. Most of the European "luxury" brands still in 2015 have most of this equipment as optional extras and will cost you more than double a Mondeo either new or second hand. The only draw back to this car has been depreciation. I can probably only get $12-$15K for it now. In my opinion this has been a great car and very under rated in Australia. 2012 Diesel Mondeo
purchased as a 3 year old vehicle with 63,000kms on the clock, only had for 2 weeks, but put 2,000kms on it,
fuel appears to be tracking to the 1100 kms per tank, ride good, quiet, responsive . Has a solid feel, have given my partner a good drive too both in Sydney traffic and on the hwy. All good . Mondeo ecoboost
This vehicle is very good, excellent ride and trim quality. The power shift gear is still a bit notchy but if you drive like a pensioner then its fine if you want to go use the sport shift which is great.
Fuel consumption is not as good as the figures claim but still good for the size of car and performance.
The Zetec is the better spec to pick unless you can justify the Titanium but is not worth the extra cost.
Built in Belgium so build quality is up there with the German manufacturers so should last long.
Only draw back is the value it will loose with it being a mondeo.
Prefers to run on 95 Ron Fuel so keep that in mind when filling up.
The Hatch version has a big storage space so go for this over the sedan, no point.

I drove a MA TDCi and a MC Ecoboost for a few weeks. A size above to any other mid-size rivals (inc. Camry), feels smaller when driving (unlike falcadores which definitely feel their sizes). Good equipment list with competitive price. Diesel engine is refined and has good grunt in mid range but a bit sluggish in take off. Feels a bit nose heavy than the petrol models. The only let down is a little horizontal body movement in mid-corner bump, which I suspect it could just be the narrower and higher profile tyres used in the latest updated models (215/50R17 instead of 235/45R17). I have to say Ford has the world's best chassis engineer! Reliability is the best of any Ford models, never heard of any big issue, which is unusual for a Ford badged car. If all Ford models can be made as reliable I believe Ford will be at least 2 places higher on the sales chart. However as all Ford made cars there are few things that will ultimately stop people buying it. Interior design may not be exactly ugly but it's wrapped with cheap fake metal vinyl, which I saw it started having bubbles after a few years time. Trims at the window opening can start peeling in some older cars. And the image of Ford's marketing and dealer service... If Ford has the world's best chassis and driveline engineering they also have the world's worst management and marketing people. They have no idea how to promote their products nor how to integrate and build a car that the majority of people will prefer. Ford's dealer service is kicking buyers away of the brand I have to say. I've seen so many Ford buyers complaint about the dealer deny any problem and never trying to be helpful. Lucky I had no problem with this Mondeo, but I am worried if I am buying another Ford in the future, what kind of service or build quality will I get? Update: I change a set of premium road tyres in 235/45R17 (as of all MA/MB models) replace the 215/50R17, improved grips immediately, better manageable torque steer, settles better on bumps (still a bit of body floats, where it should be only up/down movement on this kind of bumps). Another small issue (a bit of annoying but not a deal breaker to me) I notice is whatever adjustable in this car -- stereo volume and aircon etc, one click up is too much, one click down is to little -- come on Ford, have you ever tested the interior features when you design a car?Similar opinion? Pretty Good for a Ford
Drove one of these around for about a week up in Sydney. Actually seemed like a pretty good car with good driving dynamics, nice interior trim, solid doors and not bad to look at. It is getting towards the end of its model life so some things like the centre console are a bit dated. Here are my gripes:
- the car was a bit underpowered or the automatic gearbox wasn't optimally ratioed. One of the two. Wife said the same thing when she drove it. Not totally gutless though.

Great Gorgeous Car!
I own the 2013 Zetec TDCi. Sips very little fuel. I average 6.5L/100kms and still haven't gone on a long enough trip. The trim inside is soft and feels premium. Capped price servicing and a free RACV membership when serviced at Ford Dealers. Even Brake pad changes are capped. The boot is massive. Overall a fantastic car and I absolutely love it.

Every gadget you would ever want in a road car
The cooling is not good enough for the size of the engine. It's a very comfortable car but not the pick up you would expect. A diesel 4x4 accelerates faster.

This car gets better as it gets older!
I must confess, I wasn't really happy with this car first off. I heard so many good reviews about it and as a result didn't think of taking for a test drive. Anyway took a while to get used to and now I love it. Beware... I had issues with power steering pump. This is a common fault. Get it checked out before your warranty runs out. You'll hear it, it's just like a whining at low speeds. You don't have to be turning the steering neither. Petrol consumption wise, I am now averaging 7.4 per 100kms. I am currently on 39000kms. Like I said this car gets better as it gets older.
A good looking practical car.
Noisy power steering pump. Ford tech guys not used to european car and a bit clueless I think.

I spent over 12 months considering what car I wanted for my new car back in 2008. I didn't want something 'common', wanted something with good pick up and go and wanted all the features without paying a fortune!
In 2009 I purchased a 12 month old 2008 Ford Mondeo Zetec under a lease arrangement through salary packaging. I love love loved it! My 3 year lease just expired a couple of months ago and I was hesitant to get rid of it. I ended up trading in for a new 2013 Mondeo Zetec which has all the features of my old car plus more!

lute best thing about the Mondeo hatch is the massive boot! You could seriously sleep in the boot with a double bed! Even through a hatch it looks like a sedan (I wouldn't even consider buying a sedan version). I have moved many items and when I turn up people look at me 'like seriously?' until I open the boot and voila! Everyone is wowed by the size! It is a great mid size car. It has front sensors, rear sensors, seat sensors, auto lights, auto wipers, multiple airbags from all directions, electric height adjust drivers seat, driver passenger lumbar support, a good sound system, great space in the back seat, fantastic fuel economy, power boost, good pickup and go, quiet, dual zone air-con, fog lights, cruise control, Bluetooth, USB input, power outlet for the back seat (I don't have kids but I think this would be great so they can charge their games, iPod etc)... The only one thing that I don't like is the turn knobs to raise and lower the back rest of the front seats. A pain when you are in the passenger seat on a long drive and want to lay back for a rest. oh and the brake dust which means your tires keep getting dirty. But in the scheme of things that is a pretty minor thing to not like! I don't understand why Ford don't market it more as I never see it advertised. Everything! MASSIVE boot, great fuel economy with good pick up and go, all the features - auto lights, auto wipers, elec windows, lumbar adjust, good sound system, rear sensors, front sensors. Hi All. I was looking to buy 2012 Ford Mondeo zetec TDCI automatic (diesel) with 175,000 km on the clock. An older gentlemen is selling it cheap (around 6000$) in my suburb. I was looking to drive it for Uber (at least one year) due to its spacious interior / boot, and fuel economy. I have heard some bad reviews about its dual clutch transmission. Just asking folks out there, will it be a good buy. should i do pre-purchase inspection and how to do transmission check. what to look for ? etc. Thanks you.

The gear box MUST be serviced every 60,000km. If your transmission hasn't been serviced to 175,000 I'd keep well clear. I've got a 2011 taxi mondeo with a transmission that's done 380,000km and still strong, but I've strictly serviced it every 60,000.
