We have used the product for some years and are religious in following directions and in timely application. I came very close to losing my baby Westie last night and she's not yet out of the woods after getting a paralysis tick. I feel so let down by this product. I thought my little girl was safe and it was just not the case. I will credit them it has worked for fleas with my guys but fleas don't kill - ticks do. I would strongly advise talking to your vet about a different option.

Absolute rip off
What a totally useless product and it should be banned. Purchased as tick season has started again and local pet shop recommended and I used as per instructions. Took my small Sheltie for a walk 6 days after applying FRONTLINE and that night had to rush her to an emergency vet as she had started having problem with her back legs. Her lovely coat had to be shaved/clipped and now 5 days later with a VET bill for THOUSANDS of DOLLARS she now has to wear a coat to ensure she does not get cold and I maybe able to bring her home tomorrow. How can these people state that this product is for "the prevention and control of ticks including paralysis ticks" on the front of the box when clearly it does neither and so puts the lives of dogs at risk

Absolutely useless .
Applied it to my 6 week old pups according to the directions. 7 days later I found a paralysis tick on my girl. I had to rush her to the vet. Luckily she survived but this should of never happened.

Didn't work
I tried this product for several months and it had no impact on the flea population on my dog. Definitely would not recommend it.

Gave this product a go and found that it didn't do as it claimed. Pets still riddled with fleas. Won't be using this product again.

Used for 5 years with top results
I have a German Shepherd. She is a rescue dog and came to us as a 4 year old with signs of neglect and a healthy number of fleas. We shampooed her on arrival and treated her with frontline plus. I have not found a flea on her since then. It probably helped that she had all new bedding and a new flea-free environment when she arrived. We live on the south coast of NSW so ticks are also a big problem especially through the summer months. Our vet advised us to increase the frequency to fortnightly during the prime tick period which we have done. ...Read more
Our dog has daily walks in some of the worst tick areas and I have yet to find one on her. She is also a regular short stay visitor at a local kennel but again has remained flea and tick free for the past 5 years. I have owned Shepherds previously both here and in Queensland where ticks are also a real threat. My experience with Frontline Plus is all positive. I will stick with it - it works for my dog.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent
I bought Frontline Plus from BudgetPetCare after reading an extended review at buyfleatickmedicine and I tried it for 6 months on my dog. To be honest, my experience with Frontline Plus has been quite positive throughout this time. Initially I felt that it was not working but in first two months it vanished almost all my dog's fleas and ticks. I still continued applying it for next four months and I am really glad that after that I had never needed to apply the Frontline Plus.

Simply Useless
I don't think there is a lot to add after reading the other neg reviews!! Exact same here. Our Staffy reacts terribly to fleas and Frontline is an extremly disappointing product!!
Thought I would try it again after a couple of years, just to see... and our poor boy is just an itchy mess! All that money and no result!
Shame on you, Frontline... I will not purchase again!

Again Like The Cats
There is something wrong with their formula. Take notice Frontline we all can't be wrong !! You have lost a lot of customers !
I have been a long standing customer and used this product for many years but I have wasted so much money and my dogs and cats still had fleas I would have to put more frontline on before the next treatment was due. That's treating four pets at the same time. Nice and expensive!! As well as spraying bathing and new bedding. I have given up and I am now trying a new product from the vet.

Frontline does cause reaction in some dogs.
We had a Shi Tzu daxy cross. Tri-colour, nine years and about 9kg. We used Frontline regularly and with not so positive results. We noticed she was scratching a lot, and then started to bite herself resulting in large red welts and a loss of hair. We sought vet. advice and was given meds. Some improvement but not permanent. Then almost a total loss of hair and the skin became crusty and thin. Her tummy became enlarged. All other functions appeared normal. We went to new vet and was diagnosed with 'Cushings' disease which has complete loss of h...Read more
air, enlarged organs, thin skin. She was given three months to live. We had her put down. We now have a new puppy and again used the product. She is white; after a few days we noticed she was scratching a lot and biting herself. The skin under her tail changed colour to be almost black. We did not continue with the treatment, and we have noticed a reduction in scratching and biting and the colour under her tail is fading. I am convinced that 'Frontline' has been responsible for both events.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I really love Frontline Plus
My dog a two cats are really prone to fleas and react quite horrible to then, they get rashes they are constantly scratching sometimes causing them to bleed. I tried everything from tablet flea treatments, sprays, powders including Diatomaceous Earth (DE), multiple brands of liquid pipettes and none worked effectively enough. My last resort was to try Frontline Plus and I am so glad I did for my poor pets sake, it worked great, the fleas were dying and the scratching had stopped within a week. I continued to comb the dead fleas out, vacuumed th...Read more
e house a couple of times a week for a couple of weeks just to rid the house of any remaining fleas. My pets are now clear of any fleas their sores have healed thank goodness, due to them not scratching anymore and they are all back to their happy selves. I reapply every month and so far I have used it for 5 months and no fleas.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I may as well have used a pipette of water. One week later both dogs still scratching like crazy, still have fleas. I've washed and sprayed all bedding. I thought I was going crazy until I saw these reviews. Glad to know it's not just me. Frontline used to work a few years back but Frontline Plus is useless.

Didn't work at all...
Noticed my dog had fleas about two weeks ago. Was recommended frontline plus by the lady in pet stock. The infestation is now worse I would say. It's questionable whether this even made the slightest difference.

does not work
Our 12 year old poodle has never had fleas until the last two years - I tried Comfortis and thought he was going to die from a reaction, Advantix which did not work, and now Frontline Plus which also does not work. Both Advantix and Frontline are a waste of money. The lady who cuts our dogs hair says only the tablets like Comfortis work, but that proved toxic for our dog. I am now using Fidos rinse concentrate, spraying it on and removing the fleas with tweezers - it takes ages and doesn't keep the fleas off for long, but seems the only solution to me. The first time I used it I removed hundreds of fleas, and yet they are not obvious in our home.

I loved this flea treatment not anymore?
I have always used this flea product and could only buy it from our local vets in the uk. It worked really well on my 3 cats and 3 dogs. Now living in Australia I bought some for our little rescued dog pip, but it does not work. Ummmm so does it mean the product is not as strong as in the Uk or is the Australian flea harder buggers to kill?

I have been applying this every 2 weeks as per the instructions and it has made absolutely no difference at all. No reduction, in fact, they're growing and multiplying and look like they're doubling in size! The fleas are literally having a field day, parading around happily on my dog. Our friend's dog uses the same (in the same house), also with the same dire results.
I am definitely trying another brand and trying Fido's dog wash as I've heard a lot of people have had luck with this in conjunction with drops.

Changed!
I used this product for years but will never buy it again. My dogs were covered in fleas and even using the next pack a week early did absolutely nothing. I now use Comfortis. The fleas fell off within hours. They need to fix it up if they want people to buy it sgain.

Frontline plus
I have been using frontline plus on my dog for 10 years and up until a few weeks ago have not experienced any problems. But in the past few weeks My dog has a huge flea problem. And despite 3 applications in the past few weeks, frontline is not making any difference. This has also been accompanied by following the frontline instructions on how to get rid of fleas including washing with all bedding and surrounding areas washed, my dog washed almost dAily, daily vacuuming of all areas. the problem is still there.

Dear Frontline, Can I please get a refund? My local pet shop recommended this and it's day 5-6 after application of Frontline Plus for small dogs. He's 6kg and I got the one up to 10kg and no change to fleas. I flea-combed 5 off him tonight alone! I read above that fleas are now largely immune to your product. I just got bitten as I'm typing this. After reading all these reviews I will do the obvious and seek veterinarian's advice next time and not a person spruiking targeted products presumably with the most profit margin in a pet shop

Try a teaspoon of Apple cider vinegar & water in a spray bottle & spray it on once a month then brush their coat & watch the fleas fall to ground. Kills fleas & tick as soon as its sprayed on. i have been using it on my blue heeler for the past 18 months & no sign of fleas or ticks
Thanks I will try this but back to my question. Here's the ANSWER TO HOW TO GET A REFUND FOR THIS SUBSTANDARD PRODUCT - for people with the same question as me I will now help you from what I have learnt. I have received a refund. How? I went back to the pet supply company who sold me the product. I told them it does not work and that this is from my experience and all of the negative reviews online. They fobbed me off onto the distributor of Frontline Plus. I then rang the Frontline Plus distributor who originally said that they would not give me a refund. My response was that I would give the pet shop I bought the Frontline Plus from one star on product review and would put in my review that their service was friendly but that they recommended and sold me a lemon of a product, that is, Frontline Plus. (see my review I will later post about it having no effect whatsoever on the fleas on my dog). After 3 days the distributor sent me a letter to say that they do not accept responsibility (that their product does not work etc) but that they would do me a refund. (If you only approach the pet shop you will probably have no luck. If you only speak to the distributor you will probably have no luck) - but if you discuss that you will post a review about the Frontline Plus supplier selling a substandard / ineffective product you are likely to get a refund like I did. This product does not work - if you read the reviews even vets questioned do not believe it works.

What is the best flea and tick control medicine for dogs?

Frontline Plus worked great for about 5 years with both of our dogs..... but something happened.... maybe the fleas became immune to it? Excellent product to start with.
