    shockingly long lasting

    published

These came as factory on my Ram outdoorsman. I put 115000 km on them before I had to change the front tires. They have superb snow traction (Ontario winters) but mediocre mud handling. I would recommend them as a long lasting quiet riding tire with no need to switch to snows.

    Silent Armor good tires

    published

Bought a spare set of rims and these came on them. So far good solid tires, had one puncture on a 4wd trip, an existing plug let go when climbing over a log, bummer. Otherwise they have handled rocks, gravel, sand, bitumen, mud easily. No other complaints they are quiet on the road and seem to have almost no wear on them after 6 months and 8,000km. Was actually aiming for the Adventure ones but these are good so far.
+ve= quiet on road, tough off-road, lots out there
-ve= new tire price for Goodyear Brand

Very unhappy with these tyres (Tire if you're in the USA)

    published

I've had a set on for 27,000 klms (17 miles) and they now need replacing. I've done approximately 95% highway driving and 5% off road. They haven't been rotated but are near illegal now. They are quiet and good in the wet but don't last. They do puncture too so forget the kevlar hype.

    Excellent wear

Currently have travelled 83,000 km on one set without rotations / wheel alignment on my Colorado, and believe that I will get another 7,000km before renewal. I have the USA manufactured version, and travel majority of work on bitumen. I expect that I will purchase another set - just trying to wait for a sale.

Made in America is far better than the Asia

    published

My first set of tyres were made in Asia and I only got 30,000km wear out of them, I had a bit of a groan and requested American made next time round. I have now done 80,000km / 3 years and only now thinking of replacing them withing the next 10,000km. Best wearing tyres I have ever had.

Fantastic tyres - quiet, long lasting and good even in the wet.

    published

Just fantastic. Smooth as silk on the blacktop and remarkably competent in the wet off road.
The shoulders are very square and the sidewalls are stiff so they are not real suited to airing down in sand. We had ours down to 12psi to try and get out of some dunes.
80k's on and they should still have about 20k left.

check where they are made Asia America

    published

first time I only got about 30,000 + made in Asia. After a "BIT" of a moan to the distributor he replaced them with the same tire tread, same pattern, exactly the same in every respect, but made in America, the compounds are harder over there apparently. 50 odd thou now and they look better than the first lot I bought.
    hope this helps. Keep rollin'

I'm running the 285/75/16 on my GU patrol and covered around 10000k's of some serious bush touring over the last 12 months. originally I was going to run a set of offroad tyres as a second set but these have not let me down anywhere, no missing lugs or chips and no punctures, I highly recommend these as a great all-terrain that performs on the street!! I will buy again !!
Quiet on the street, really good in the wet, Great on dry dusty dirt roads, and good in sand, puncture resistant sidewalls in the LT version
none - these have performed way above my expectations!

    Very disappointing

    published

I bought these tyres after much deliberation as you do when making such a purchase and was initially very pleased with their performance. I made 2 trips to the Gulf from mid NSW coast towing an off road van with no problems at all.
They are quiet on road and strong in the walls for rocky gravel roads.
After only 30,000km they have worn down incredibly fast and tramline something terrible. These ones made in Indonesia.

Got 1st set when they were first released and got almost double the milage of the Coopers I was running before that. Bought second set for other vehicle and replaced first set on first vehicle VERY DISSAPOINTED as these subsequent tyres only lasted 30,000 & 35000km. Not worth the extra money for that sort of milage. My rating of tyres is solely based on tyre wear compared to cost as have no complaints about other qualities.
Great handling tyre,I live on gravel roads and good all round performer. had 1 puncture out of all 12 tyres worn out.
Whilst 1st set of tyres were excellent wearers later tyres fast wearing.

Tread life is exceptional, noise is ok, traction is great.Have had these on a previous vehicle and happy to see Goodyear make them in 285R70-17 which corrected my speedometer to 100% accurate.
Very positive traction in all conditions, when fitted to my Landcruiser 200 series, happy driving
The square edge design, (same as all other LT's) seem to be very direct. I will also add that my vehicle has been lifted 5omm and has no caster adjustment available to correct this trait.

I have used a set of these tyres on my Landcruiser for over 40,000km so far and they are only 1/2 worn. We use this car as a tow vehicle for our rally car and as a course car on many rally's. We have crossed the Simpson desert and the Plenty highway fully laden and at speed without any punctures.
Super strong tyre that can withstand a lot of high speed abuse. Good traction on gravel roads.

got it oversize for my nissan navara true 32' wheel 255/75 R17 at risk.
It prooved itself to be a true allround tire, fast but not noisy, steady at high speed and also sticky on mad. Cannot comment on wear as i've run them for only 5000Km yet and still look new.
dry grip, noise or rather silence on tar, traction on mad

Like most 08 Pajero drivers i was dismayed that Mitsubishi opted for the 18 inch rims on the 08 model, shod with Grandtreks, which were great on the road, but shocking on Sand/Mud - I opted for the Goodies SA P265/60R18 109T, what a difference! I got 4 for 3 from Goodyear and have done 20,000km with no sign of tracking or obvious wear. Like most urban cowboys I do most of my km on road and I have been suprised by the low levels of noise at high speed coupled with S/T like performance on sand. Give em a go!
H/T level road noise, great on sand and mud - aggressive pattern is a real alternative to S/T's.

    From Asia or America? Colin.

the American made tires are of a harder compound than the ones made in Asia, therefore will last longer. My first lot from Asia were worn to hell at only 30,000, whereas the American ones that I have on now look great at 50, 000 plus.

I have a 2010 NT pajero and have just put a set of silent armours on. I have noticed that the car is now chewing more desiel. I am wondering what the correct running pressure (psi) is? The tyre shop has them at 32psi? is this correct for a standard pajero unladen?

the distributor that I bought mine from put my pressure at 40 psi, seems a bit high to me but he assures me that it's correct. I'm still in the dark about this, each distributor gives you a different story

What are they like on hyway condions when it is wet?

    Hi Laurie,
They were quite okay in wet conditions on the highway. The only problem with them was that they wore incredibly quickly, even though they were rotated at each service and correct pressure in them always.
