Simple easy to use and just Awesome for home pizza
Awesome little oven for pizza and stuff.
Cheap easy to use and the timer off function is the best thing ever..
Some times the simple things are the best.
And small oven less power.

Sunbeam Pizza Bake Bake and Grill Oven BT 5350 .
Same experience as Elle T. Harvey Norman happily replaced My Sunbeam Pizza Bake and Grill Oven BT5350 . Same problem again . Customer Care at Sunbeam happily and very promptly replaced but problem has not been rectified. Disappointing. I have had 2 of these ovens lasting about 3 years each .

Trips safety switch constantly.
I have bought Sunbeam products for most of my life and so did my Mum but I will think twice before doing that again. Have read a lot of reviews here and I concur with the uneven cooking of this oven but the clincher is that it keeps tripping my safety switch and the dials and door get very hot. I've had this oven for 2.5 years and it really started playing up after the warranty ran out and now I can't use it because it clearly is shorting out. Not happy and looking for a different oven to replace it with.
Purchased in July 2021 at The Good Guys for $69.00.

Doesn't toast properly
We go through one every one to three years. But the latest one we have has these metal bars on the bottom elements as pictured, so only the top of the toast gets toasted and we have to turn the toast the around to toast the other side. We tried both the toast and bake settings to no avail. Please help! If the toasting issue is resolved, I would give a 5 star. Generally its a great product.

Hello Elle T,
To toast:... Read more
The top two and bottom two elements will heat when the TOAST setting has been selected. 1. Place the wire rack into the middle rack support guide, in the sunken position. 2. Arrange bread on the wire rack. 3. Turn the oven setting to TOAST. 4. Set the temperature control to the maximum 240C. 5. To set the time first turn the dial fully clockwise to 60 minutes, then turn it ant-clockwise to the toast icons to start the timer. This ensures accurate timing. Light Toast represents the lightest toast shade and Black Toast represents the darkest shade. 6. A bell will sound when the selected toast cycle has ended. Note: Toasting times will vary depending on the type of bread used. Sweet and fruit breads generally take less time than white or wholemeal breads. If this is not the case with your bake and grill then please return for a replacement because both the top and bottom heating elements should be working at the same time.Similar opinion? Great oven, small caveat (though arguably, proper use and youd be fine)
Used the previous model of this from 6 years ago (that's also how long it lasted) and this newer model I notice has a chrome/metallic covering on the heat bars, which I assume protects them more. Old ones heat bars warped out of shape, touching the roof of the oven in its last month.
On grill with tray, like the older one in its first months, lid must be open or food burns within precious minutes- heat sensor seems to be at the bottom and keeps heating even though temperature has been reached 40 degrees ago (tested with oven thermometer-bread...Read more
at 90 degrees will burn in under 4 minutes excluding preheating). Other than that slight issue, it's worked fine so far, heats food evenly, lid is light, removable tray at bottom makes oven easier to clean.1 comment

Very good compact mini oven
This little oven really surprised me because it has no fan. My last one did and cooked really well.
I have had the Sunbeam oven for 2 months now and I have to say it is better than my old one with the fan. Very surprised. I use the bake function all the time when I'm cooking food and I quite often have toasted cheese sandwiches. The grill function is super quick. Over all this oven has been fantastic and is fairly quick in all the cooking I have done in it. I paid just under $100 so very much value for money. Even if it only lasts me a year or two I'm really happy and I would buy another one. So far so good.
Purchased in April 2021 at Harvey Norman for $99.00.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
I have had Sunbeam products all my life and Im 65 now. I usually buy secondhand toaster ovens, but always Sunbeam because I do all my baking in it. I have a gas oven but hate it. The new one BT5350 is terrible and burns my cakes, pizzas and everything at the back. I am devistated as I love to bake and cant believe I have a negative review, but there you go, they dont make em like they used to.
Purchased in February 2021 for $95.00.

Rubbish.
In attempting to make toast, and correctly following the directions to place the shelf in the centre slot and the sunken position, setting the heat control to the highest temperature, and selecting halfway between light and dark, the top is burnt at the back and underdone at the front, and the underside is untoasted apart from a couple of spots, again to the rear, that are just slightly coloured.
I bought it in the latter half of last year, 2018, I selected August, as the system insists on having a date, but I am not entirely certain which mon...Read more
th I bought it as the receipt has been mislaid. It has not been damaged in any way, and it has only had a small amount of use, but it was this bad right from the start. Everything that I have used it for, on various settings, has burnt at the back and been underdone at the front. It is going out with the rest of the garbage. The photos show the result of toasting a fresh slice of fruit bread on the lightest setting, showing the top overdone, and the bottom just starting to take on colour. It was so slow, that the bread had dried out inside, too. As for grilling, when the rack, in the sunken position, is placed in the top slot, with the drip tray and pan on it, it almost touches the cover of the top elements, making it impossible to put any food thicker than a slice of bacon on it for grilling. Sausages, even thin BBQ sausages, or items such as shaslicks are too thick, and it jams when trying to slide them in under the top elements. It would be impossible to produce a grilled meal of steak, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages, and the like, as none of these would fit under the top element. The design of this oven is abysmal. It also needs a spring on the door to stop it dropping open hard onto the bench with the risk of the glass breaking when the door is opened.Purchased in August 2021 at Harvey Norman, Mount Barker for $119.00.

Hi Barry,
Thank you for you feed back and sorry to hear about your experience with your oven. Please be assured your comments will be forwarded on to our development and technology teams.
I forget to mention that a lack of a spring on the door means that, when opening it, there is a chance of it dropping down hard onto the bench and breaking the glass door.

Poorly Designed
I got the idea to buy this from using my landlord's mini-oven, which is some no-name brand, it was brilliant in every regard.
This model however is not so brilliant. It doesn't cook evenly, pizzas burn towards the back and not cooked up front. It's also incredibly inefficient, in that there are two big gaps between the door and the contact points so heat is always oozing out of it.
Update:
Several months later and both bottom elements stopped working and the two top elements have uneven heat outputs. For an oven that's rarely used, this is quite disappointing.
Purchased in May 2021 at Appliances Online for $119.00.

Handy little Oven
This oven is handy to use when your just cooking a small amount. It cooks a pizza well at a high temperature. You can use the top, bottom or both elements. Great for grilling, has a variety of settings which are a little hard to read but when you get used to them its simple to use. Lightweight and easily moved about. Would recommend this small oven.

Perfect little pizza oven
I mostly use it to reheat pizza or take away meals. Perfect little oven as heats up very quickly and is economical to run.
I got it on special around the $100 mark.
So glad with the purchase as it was based mostly on all the reviews here. I bought another two for presents.

RIP after just over 2 years
A little bit disappointed in this oven, especially for the amount that we paid. Bought this oven via Myer, and while it was great initially and quick to heat, it has slowly been dying on us.. and finally I noticed that the fuse jumped every time we turned it on and realised the upper heating elements had warped and were now touching the top of the unit causing the short.
I would've expected something this price, and from Sunbeam to last a lot longer.

Great little unit (so far).
The reviews here convinced me to give this little oven a go (A$99 + postage from Harvey Norman online). It's terrific for what I've cooked so far: pizzas, roasts, fish and chips, cake (1) etc. I have not used the grill or re-heat functions yet as I've only had it a couple of weeks but it sure is fast compared to my normal oven so I have to be careful till I get the hang of it. Contrary to another review here I found the round perforated pizza dish is fine if you lightly oil and flour it before placing your pizza base on it; it is definitely not non-stick. So far so good.

mostly good
this is the 2nd one I've had. The first one lasted nearly 8 years and it was pretty darn good; but I replaced it because the handle came off and sunbeam seemed very unhelpful with a replacement handle. Also the toasting function was extra slow. So I bought a new one hoping to get an appliance that can at least toast properly. Disappointed. The under side of the bread doesn't toast. I can't believe how hard it is for manufacturers to come up with an appliance that can toast evenly whether it be a toaster or a toaster oven

Buy this with a timeline in mind
Ok, this fantastic machine will save you a lot of money. The reason being that it will heat up faster than your conventional oven and use less energy to do it. If you roast foods in it, the sidewalls will blacken out and forget cleaning them, its too hard. Regardless of that, the unit is still good. As far as pizza's go, the peforated circular plate that comes with with the oven is an issue for sticking, thats due to the material they made it out of. However, I have had one of these for 5 years and only replaced it due to wear. At less than ...Read more
$120 dollars, who cares. The things that are going for this little oven is that they use infra red solid core elements, Not the infra ray glass tubes which shatter easily and cant be handled very well. Why waste your money heating up foods for lunches with kids in your conventional oven when this one will save time and expense. You must be prepared to buy another in years to come, They are not foverever. So far i have bought two for $100 on specials. Even bought one before the other failed when it was cheap. And yet with all the power you will save Who cares about that...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Compact, heats up fast and simple to use
Bought one of these earlier in 2016, however after a while the top heating elements began to warp and buckle due to oil / food debris splashing up during the cooking process. Since it no longer cooks as quickly so I decided to buy a replacement unit from The Good Guys for $85 online
This BT5350 seems to feature some new changes and upgrades (version 2 of the original product), as it now has stainless steel guards that surround the heating elements which now protects them from debris / oils that might otherwise land on the elements.
It's a good oven for the price; it starts up and heats up quickly to the target temperature, and seems to outperform my built in oven when it comes to cooking smaller dishes or single meals.

efficient and easy to clean
We have had this trusty little toaster for a couple of months and we use it multiple times a day. It's super efficient and heats things up way faster than an oven. It also has a tray at the bottom that you can use to easily clean crumbs out of the toaster.

A great oven - does the job everytime!
It's been very reliable and heats, bakes, toasts and grills small quantities of food efficiently and quickly. I like it's small footprint. As my kitchen is not large it is a perfect fit. I have baked pizzas, sausage rolls, grilled veggies and all my food have turned out well. It's energy efficient and is value for money for its performance. I would recommend it anytime.

Hi there, purchased the oven today and I'm just trying it out on Bake... the heat light is flickering on and off every 10 seconds and it has been doing for twenty minutes now, seems odd? Also, should the bottom elements on Bake be glowing like the top, as there is currently no orange glow at the bottom of the oven? Thanks.

Both top and bottom elements should be orange for bake. My top 2 elements stopped working after just 12 months use. Very disappointed in this product.

Hi Bridget P,
Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. The light should only come on and off when the thermostat drops temperature and reaches it again. Not usually every 10 seconds. Best to return this unit to the store of purchase for a replacement. Kind Regards, Sunbeam
