Abbsolute crap
I've been an electronics technician for about 45 years, yes I have seen some poor products in that time, this particular unit is the worst I have seen. Don't worry about releasing a software up grade for this useless piece of equipment KOGAN, its the forst and last thing I will purchase from you !

One word.. Rubbish
I should have known better as this is the second Kogan Smart TV I've had and its actually even worse than the first one from 2012.. I actually have a Samsung smart TV and recently brought a LG smart TV so I know what the term smart is all about and the Agora isn't it.. Its just a TV with a terrible built in android dongle.. With the last Kogan smart TV I had which was actually just for the bedroom (so no big deal) I ended up buying a android 4.4 kitkat dongle off ebay which worked a treat, so much quicker than the un-upgradeable android 4.2. bu...Read more
ilt into the tv. Now this new Kogan Agora 4.4 kitkat is even slower than the 4.2.. It doesn't Stream anything except youtube and I'm using a NBN network, so I took it back to the Kogan pop up shop where I got it from and we tried it there also.. we upgraded the firmware and used their wifi and youtube was the only thing that worked.. No 7plus, 9Jumpin or Ten play app or the website streaming, was just left there waiting and the assistant said the memory is not up the standard for using these services.. So I said this is the reason I brought your smart TV and if it cant be smart then I'd like a refund as its a kogan product and within 14 days as stated.. But was only told by the assistant that they don't accept returns from the shop and have to book it online to get it back to Kogan.. Ok, thats fair enough I guess, but when it came to returning it back online I was told I'm the one that has to cough up the $28 return postage.. and the return address is in St Albans, Melbourne which isn't too far from me so I thought I could drop it off.. and then I'm told 'no public drop off's'.... has to be done by courier.. which they can arrange and take the $28 out my refund.. So thats a cool $28 wasted for nothing.. So Better think about all this when buying a smart TV from Kogan, even the weather app doesn't work on the home screen which looks pretty cool on their screen shots. Plus the standby light is so bright it lights up half the room in a bedroom.. But I'll be going to the accc with this one.. Stay tuned for the results...Similar opinion? Garbage- I threw it out - literally
This is the only device I have that does not stream Netflix in my house. Netflix works great on my children's cheapo tablets and on my phone and laptop, etc. I purchased it only for Netflix and it is next to useless. Power-cycling and clearing the memory cache don't help and neither did the latest firmware upgrade. Occasionally it is watchable but usually it either freezes or I get audio with no video. Tech support is less than helpful with repeated suggestions of power-cycling. This is just as irritating as this damn TV. No wonder the price ha...Read more
s been dropping so quickly. Unfortunately for me I paid top dollar as a pre-order and shipping. I will not purchase from Kogan again. Ever. Update, this is now sitting near the garbage bin but it does not fit. Not only is this garbage but it does not fit in the bin and now I will have to make other arrangements. Maybe the help desk has some ideas how I can fit in my bin? Is there a Kogan skip bin service? That would be the first helpful suggestion for a use of this product. If my review will help even ONE hard working Australian to save their money and buy something different, then it is worthwhile. Customer support/ help desk are hopeless and their products are worthless. Buyer beware.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't be fooled..
I bought this TV as for a Smart TV, it is well priced. But that's where the positives end.
From the initial setting up of this product, through to the endless resetting in an attempt to revive some kind of functionality in the 'Smart TV', this product is beyond frustrating. The android system does not seem to cope with the functions you want in a smart tv rendering it absolutely useless. It is not a firmware issue as Kogan might suggest, it is the general functionality of the TV itself.
Here's a few issues I experienced...
The cursor for t...Read more
he remote seems to disappear frequently so you don't know what you are highlighting, this is when it's not locked or frozen. When this happens I have to switch the TV off at the power. The TV guide function only previews one channel at a time, and you have to change channels to view the program times. Rather than a full guide of all channels. A TV guide's purpose is to avoid frequently changing channels. Utterly stupid. When connecting a USB device, it does not recognise folders, and instead previews all the content as icons rather than lists. This can be frustrating to scroll through. When viewing a video the rewind/fast forward function seems to jump way further, rather than slowly skipping through so you can stop at the scene you want to view. The remote itself isn't great - no alpha keys. Shouldn't a Smart TV requiring endless entering of passwords, searching net, etc. be provided with a remote you can actually use the alphabet with rather then a slow loading soft keyboard or having to purchase an additional wireless keyboard?! When streaming from Netflix, there was a lot of pixelation. I did another test streaming through Apple TV, and there was no pixelation which suggests to me it's not an ISP connection issue, rather how the TV itself streams the data. Given you want a Smart TV to stream from the internet. This product is so offensively terrible, you really need to heed these warnings and not bother. I recommend getting a regular HD TV and pairing that with a much more efficient user friendly Apple TV. The older models are now quite affordable.

SO NOT Smart TV
I read the reviews and guess what I have EXACTLY same problems.
Kogan should be absolutely embarrassed with such an UNSMART TV.
My reception is now cutting in and out, I have NEVER had a reception problem with any TV in my house.
Nothing short of a money back solution would be the responsible customer service response to this disaster.
If this review stops someone from buying this TV, that would be a fair outcome.

Heap of Rubbish ... Do Not Buy !!!!
I bought this product a few months ago. 43' Kogan Smart TV. The setup instructions (particularly for the Smart TV are utter crap and the Help Desk is even worse). After struggling through and finally setting up, the Weather Widget on the home page does not sync with the locality. Moving around the screens is also very "clumsy". I would send it back except for the cost and don't expect any help from Kogan. Worst product ever purchased.

Great picture, horrible 'Smart' TV
The 55 inch LED Smart TV from Kogan has a great picture but the Android computer is under powered and struggles to allow you to perform basic tasks like switching channels. The TV takes about 60 seconds to boot up before it will even recognise any input from the remote.
The remote is very clunky and has to have direct line of site to TV for any response.
The TV randomly locks up and randomly reboots.
The TV loses the date and time settings when you switch off at the power point and cannot always pickup the correct date and time from the WiFi/Internet connection which plays havoc with the electronic program guide. The inbuilt video recorder works sometimes and sometimes only records half the program.
A very frustrating device.

I Am Very Happy With My First Smart Tv!
Model: KALED43SMTZA
I struggled setting up internet and netflix to start but once I figured out that pressing enter brought up the virtual keyboard, the ball was rolling. I had to update google play to be able to play the netflix app I downloaded but it is all working great now. I have watched youtube, netflix, and abc iview so far. I am so relieved after seeing these reviews when I was yet to update google play. Happy to let others know a happier tale. Maybe Kogan were listening.
Follow up: While still happy with the value for the price th...Read more
is TV has had many hiccups and bugs. Often when trying to use netflix, abc iview or even youtube a dialogue box says service is unavailable right now but most times when I click "ok" it works anyway. Netflix often won't load properly but I have found that if I play a youtube clip first then open Netflix it seems to work. I also ended up upgrading the software which has improved things. I hope Kogan continue to try and work out the bugs, as there is much room for improvement. For someone lacking patience, this TV is not for you.1 comment

Please do not buy this TV!!
I purchased the KOGAN smart TV five months ago (March 2015) and it has now stopped working. The TV powers up but then doesn't move from a white screen with the Kogan logo.
I raised the issue with KOGAN and was advised that a firmware update would rectify the problem. It didn't.
I was then advised that I needed to powercycle the TV before attempting the firmware update. I did that and surprise, surprise the TV is still not working.
I have now advised KOGAN that I want a FULL refund!
If it's a SMART TV you're after, don't make the same mistake I made, look elsewhere!

NOT a Smart TV - just a slow tablet with a big screen
Main problem? It's not actually a smart tv at all.
It's a tv running an old version of android and thinks it's a tablet. And when running android functions it's painfully slow. I can't believe it really has the processor specs it says it does, given how slow and clunky it is. It freezes, apps run so slow they're constantly offering to kill them if you don't want to wait, it's just painful.
The youtube app is the tablet version, so it does not give you a pairing code (it asks you to find the code from your tv... Even though it is your tv) w...Read more
