Kogan not so smart tv
Either these tv's are useless as far as smart tv's go or I am not savvy enough to work it. Have spent countless hours either trying to get netflix working on this tv and researching other posts with the same problem. Would have been better off buying another brand and a chromecast. Anyone got any idea how to get netflix working as I have had no luck downloading the app.

Worst TV with extremely slow and poor support with no real solution
Not sure how smart but this TV is only good for watching live TV. Any other function such as pause live TV works very poorly. eg: If I pause longer than 30 mins then when I resume it starts from 15 mins lapsed. YES, my USB is large enough to record enough live TV or pause live TV. Also my TV does not update or able to check for latest software updates. Kogan rep has been going back and forth with email (5 days with slow reply) for days now and the best they came up with is my USB drive could be faulty. Which cannot be true as I have tested the issue on more than 2 USB drives. Also avoiding the other issue of software fails to check for updates completely. Is it too hard to ask for a functional TV or should we just expect it to be crap cos it's cheap? Picture is almost 3 dimentional
The picture quality is as good as I have seen on tvs that cost many times more. Speakers are not surround but the quality is good and can be altered tone wise to suit.It has 4 HDMI ports and other ports for older accessories. The remote is well marked and easy to use. I have it connected to the internet by bluetooth. If I bought another one I would not look anywhere else. Gordon

More than I expected
I bought this Smart TV on the recommendation of a friend. I expected to pay more than double for it as I had seen them in other catalogues. Many of my friends have other makes but all say it is better than theirs even when they have paid more than double the price. It is very easy to use with no hiccups, It has 3 HDMI ports, enough for everything I need. Sometimes the picture is like 3D depending on the program we are watching. I got a 5 year warranty for $99. The item was received 2 days after ordering and is still in as new condition. I am very happy with the Company and the TV.

What a terrible TV. Never buy it or go near it
I bought this smart TV buy it is terrible. Changing the channels freeze, so called smart TV is not really smart. Navigating through the setting and apps is a nightmare. I finally found the Netflix but do not bother with it. Never buy this TV just because it is cheaper than some of the main stream models.

Crap! Just Crap!
1.For its quality its really crap! Quality is conparable to a tube tv, who watches non-HD this days?
2. I used a wall mount for this... with just 2 months used, the "supposed" strong wall mount screw holes bent.... i have pictures.
If given the chance... stay off their brands.

Bad operating system
Operating system is really bad. Remote control is not fully compatible. I am not able to cast videos from mobile and from you tube or from any other app like stan, netflix. There is regular error on youtube ( unfortunately youtube stopped working.

I bought this smart tv to be able to do the very thing it can no longer do after many emails and phone calls now find out it is a fault with the previous update that has caused the issue kogan can not get their software right. Only had it a couple of days so here are my initial impressions. It works well enough as a TV. I think the picture is very good and sound quite acceptable. Priced well. I'm not interested in cable services so I have nothing to add about its function in this area.

If you want to use it more as a computer you should definitely buy a keypad. As I only have wireless services with a limited data download I have concerns as to whether I can turn off updates and if this thing will want to suddenly download a new operating system and give me billshock. No obvious information on this included. My last TV was an LG and though not SMART, had many connection points including optical digital, rca and hdmi. Kogan has not included rca or optical digital so some adapters are required. Headphone connection is not good.Possibly defective, Mini plug hole is the only option which seems to work ok with my mobile phone earphones. The supplied mini into 3 rca female adapter (audio and video) didn't give a clear signal. My wife works early and if I want to use the tv at night I need headphones, so this is annoying not to have a simple solution. Problem of buying online is you don't see these details easily. I want to connect it to wireless headphones which have RCA connections. No RCA connector points in or out. This means my DVD player is now also extinct without finding some kind of adapter rca to hdmi which may or may not work?? Thinking I could connect some external speakers. No optical out or rca cable out. There is digital coaxial out. I have to buy a cable to see if that works. I was keen to see if I can get my mobile phone to share its screen. Downloaded the software into my phone and haven't got it to work. Hoping it would be something like Google Chromecast usb plug in device but without having to buy the peripheral device. If I can screen share with my phone I can use the tv efficiently in my music tuition business. Doesn't seem like it is going to work. I don't have a router as I just have wireless services which are mobile hotspots. Maybe I need a router but at this point I'm just confused. So I am in the market for another tv for my office music tution business but I am not certain if this will be another Kogan at this point. WORST SERVICE AND PRODUCT BEWARE!!!!!!
I had my TV for 2 months and kept getting an error that said launcer failed.. After googling the issue i came across a thread where Kogan admited to the issue and that they were "Working on a firmware update" solution
A few days later instructions were given to update. i followed these to the mark and it did not work... i contacted chat and they advised the exact same thing! i did it again and the update worked but the screen then became distored and make a funny noise..

Foxtel GO will not work on jailbroken device

We can confirm that none of our smart TVs are 'rooted' or 'jailbroken'. Some third party apps may suggest this by displaying an error message as they are coded in a way to do so for all non-compatible devices. With regards to the particular app in question, "Foxtel Go", we have contacted the technical department of the app i.e. Foxtel for this issue. They have advised that the app is designed to work only on mobile devices ie. phones and tablets. It doesn't work on any smart TVs and they have no plans to change it at this time. Most Dissappointing Thing I Have Ever Bought
I am devastated that this TV purchased as a birthday present for my husband is such a failure. Despite resets, power cycling, reloading firmware etc - the problems persist! The Launcher message remains. At one point was actually able to watch TV and change channels. Next evening we were back to square one. I will be demanding a refund today.

"Unfortunately, the launcher has stopped" error that wont go away and cannot work on anything
I purchased a TV from you on 24th January and have had continuous issues - now I have this error that wont go away. I have done a factory reset and about 4 power cycles, your CS cannot help and instead keep sending me emails saying we are working on a fix. There is no response to social media posts and I get pre-drafted email responses when I contact your customer service team. Absolutely unacceptable. I cannot use the television for the purpose I bought it for! Where is the update on the situation seeing as obviously this is an ongoing issue with a number of people that has been flagged for almost a week now? Not happy at all.

Buyer beware! Faulty TV: Launcher has Stopped
Same issues as others however I have done a full factory reset, turned off Internet and I can't even use mine as a dumb tv. It's stuck on black screen "unfortunately, launcher has stopped". Can't access anything else! Including the DTV. Last night I could watch DTV, this morning, nothing. This TV is 100% useless. I will be having my bank issue a chargeback reason code 53 (faulty merchandise) I suggest everyone does the same.
The company is unwilling to offer I quick solution or a refund.

I purchased this TV before reading the reviews and was expecting a real lemon, however we got this for Xmas mainly for Netflix and Youtube. The set up was simple and we have watched countless Netflix Movies and Youtube clips. Quite happy. Navigation is challenging though! However the kids have mastered that part much better then me.

AFL app is asking to turn on location services when it is already on. Crap. Also doesn't work with any of the free to air TV app. There is no scroll bar on either the side or bottom. Absolutely terrible. Logan is crap crap crap!

Having received this Kogan Smart TV at Christmas, I was keen to join Netflix and enjoy the ride.
I was disappointed to be informed by Kogan support (politely) that:
"The TV has compatibility issues with the following applications, ABC iView, TenPlay, 7Plus, Stan.com, Presto, Spotify or Netflix, aside from these mentioned you are able to play other programs."

If you have mentioned the correct model (KALED43SMTZA), the unit will be compatible. Some of the older models of our Smart TV's that were manufactured before the release of Netflix in Australia may not be compatible. Garbage- I threw it out - literally
This is the only device I have that does not stream Netflix in my house. Netflix works great on my children's cheapo tablets and on my phone and laptop, etc. I purchased it only for Netflix and it is next to useless. Power-cycling and clearing the memory cache don't help and neither did the latest firmware upgrade. Occasionally it is watchable but usually it either freezes or I get audio with no video. s been dropping so quickly. Unfortunately for me I paid top dollar as a pre-order and shipping. I will not purchase from Kogan again. Ever. Update, this is now sitting near the garbage bin but it does not fit. Not only is this garbage but it does not fit in the bin and now I will have to make other arrangements. Maybe the help desk has some ideas how I can fit in my bin? Is there a Kogan skip bin service? That would be the first helpful suggestion for a use of this product. Don't be fooled..
I bought this TV as for a Smart TV, it is well priced. But that's where the positives end.
From the initial setting up of this product, through to the endless resetting in an attempt to revive some kind of functionality in the 'Smart TV', this product is beyond frustrating. The android system does not seem to cope with the functions you want in a smart tv rendering it absolutely useless. It is not a firmware issue as Kogan might suggest, it is the general functionality of the TV itself.

SO NOT Smart TV
I read the reviews and guess what I have EXACTLY same problems.
Kogan should be absolutely embarrassed with such an UNSMART TV.
My reception is now cutting in and out, I have NEVER had a reception problem with any TV in my house.
Nothing short of a money back solution would be the responsible customer service response to this disaster.
If this review stops someone from buying this TV, that would be a fair outcome.

Hi Billy, that's a bit unusual. Please ensure the TV is connected to the internet, then give it a power cycle by turning it off at the wall for a few minutes. If the Netflix app still doesn't load up properly, please try uninstalling it by going into Settings > Apps. Hi, we seem to have very limited abilities when trying to connect anything physical. The HDMI ports only seem to register our Blu ray player and nothing else. The sound bar can't be connected nor can the wii. Does anyone else have these issues? This is such a disappointing purchase. I won't be buying anything from Kogan again.

Hello. I have hd foxtel and an Xbox connected as well and they seem to work. I don't have any external speakers so I wouldn't know about that sorry. But I am very disappointed that I wasted my money on that piece of junk and as soon as I can afford it I will throw it in the rubbish and buy a real tv. I too have vowed never to buy anything from kogan again!
