Dog much better on this
I've treid other dry dog foods including Advance (gave my dog Diarrhea) Eukanuba (not good for teeth or stomach).
Since being on Hills Science Diet for large breeds, she's much healthier, the ideal weight, no more loose stools and her teeth are in much better condition.
The only negative is the price which is at the high end.
Purchased in May 2021 at Budget Pet Products for $95.00.

Rip off, over priced, buy Australian dog food
Rip off, over priced, buy Australian dog food. Optimum or supercoat is much better, you are paying for the name. Ingredients and nutrition are the same, optimum works better with all dogs.
Purchased in January 2021.

We swapped to Ivory coat
We used this for years as our vet highly recommended it. Our English bulldog had bad skin allergies and we decided to change to Ivory coat which isn’t natural/grain free and within a week his skin is healing, after a month it’s all healed up. Won’t go back to Hills

Terrible Quality Dog Food
Buy your companion a quality pet food like Artemis or at least Canidae. Hills ''Science'' Diet is likely to cause your dog to become sick and develop allergies. Stay away from this product it's just corn and grain filler they need proper protein.

Will never buy again.
After reading the ingredients I realised this is full of artificial foods and flavours. I had to have my puppy put down due to her inability to process her food. I feel that hills science diet is partiality at fault, as well as other factors but I'm definitely not impressed with hills and will hopefully never have to purchase it again.

Shocking
Please make sure you read the ingredients carefully before feeding this to your dog. It is way overpriced considering the main ingredient is corn, which is definatly not a good quality ingredient. If you must feed your dog dry food do your research well . Go for grain free, high in protein brands, and you must mix it with raw food to prevent dehydration . Most companies dont care about your pet and Science Diet is the perfect example.
Paying for vet schools ?! Well played Science Diet .

Has anyone read the ingredients list?
Finding a good food is actually Really hard! Hills science diet is actually really BAD! the first freaking ingredient is CORN!!!! for an omnivore whom is predominately a carnivore this doesn't make much sense to me. Then after that it doesn't get any better. Chicken-by product meal... right chicken is the worst meat ingredient because its mostly water, heard something today about meal meaning its been dried but still unimpressive. Then theres corn... again! then Beet pulp...and pork fat after that then oh god I hadn't read this far before... po...Read more
rk fat flavour... I'm sorry but a flavour ingredient... well for one I'd hope it wasn't even in it but if it was not to be the 5th FREAKING INGREDIENT! I always thought it must be pretty good if vets have it... no that was just blind ignorance. I actually feel bad for feeding this to my dog but I honestly can't afford to not use something this expensive. I adopted my puppy and he was already eating it. I would have bought something else instead. I got a free bucket... for the new brand of food I'll buy best time! Full of fillers! there wasn't a purely meat product in the first five ingredients.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad choice...
This food was highly recommended to me by our local veterinarian. I was told that it was a balanced food but honestly I can not see how it is any better than supermarket dog chow. It contains quite a few fillers in such as corn and brewers rice which for an expensive food is just plain cheap!
A lot of people are defending this product because of its AAFCO status but people need to be reminded that the AAFCO still approve the use of diseased meat for dog food, too... YUM!
For LESS money you can get high brand food such as Canidae which i...Read more
n my eyes is far superior in quality. I am encouraging everybody here to look at labels and check out the facts before being mislead by advertising. The picture of the dogs on the package. The lack of nutritional and whole ingredients, the price, the misleading advertising.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Terrible food.
This is just a terrible brand of food. The ingredients are just about the same as 'Ol Roy, which you can get at your local Walmart for about $10 for a 50lb bag. Look at the first ingredients. Corn, by-products, and animal fat. It has insufficient met content, use of low quality grains and other controversial filler, soy, and fat of unidentifiable origin. The only reason Hill's gets Veterinary approved is because they give tons of scholarships to Veterinary schools. Stop buying this crap.
Expensive, low quality ingredients

Excellent
Both of my last two dogs died of cancer within months of each other aged 7 and 10 years old. I can't help thinking it had something to do with me skimping on all that crappy, cheap supermarket dog food I fed them their whole lives. Poor little buggers.
This time round, I'm not taking any chances, its only the best for my big blokes. Giving them Science Diet is not a matter of spoiling them. Its just one part of being a responsible pet owner. Not everyone can afford the added expense. Those who can't cop the cost of feeding their pets respon...Read more
sibly should avoid owning them at all. Give up the expense of smoking, gambling or drinking and give your dogs Science Diet. My two bitsers have been reared from puppies on this range of tucker. Both refugees from the Council Pound, they were skinny and had mangy coats. The Science Diet has given them everything they need nutritionally. Their coats are glossy, eyes bright, breath fresh, teeth white and strong, poops small and firm with energy to spare. Everyone in the house is happy. I can't fault the product in any way. Some folks complain about the price, but you get what you pay for. This stuff absolutely delivers what it promises.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Found a lot of products to be high in fat, this isn't. My dog also doesn't get any side effects (gassy) from eating it. Keeps her coat in great shape.
My dog loves it, lasts over a month (15kg bag).
A little pricy but with the health benifits it is worth it!

Most cheaper foods seem to last two seconds with my larger breed dogs, but this one as it is made just for them last alot longer. It helps to maintain over all health, leaving them smelling great, having good stools, healthy teeth, shiny coat and a very happy animal. Great food from a trusted brand.
Great for large breeds of dogs.
