common problem, it will be your inhibitor switch
the service light is different and would not cause the transmission to be in limp mode, which is the sluggish feel your getting

I have a Holden astra vxr/hsv with a cdc40 opera headunit is Blaupunkt I have 3 radio codes for it that I purchased from a company online The problem I have now is when u plug the diagnostic scan tool in it is asking for another code for the Ecu to be able to reprogram the Ecu Where or how do I obtain this required code? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in Advance

The ECU code should be on your car pass card that comes with the instruction book from the dealer!
Unfortunately When I purchased the Vehicle privately I never received the booklet and had no know idea that you needed another code apart from the Radio code How do I obtain the correct code for what I need
You will have to contact Holden and they will give you the code, but it my be at a cost.
There is a software tool called Carprog that will recover codes from the ECU but it is expensive.

I have a Holden Astra 2008 AH, the warning light with the spanner comes on after I have driven for about 10km, it is not on when I next start the car, but will come on only after about 10km. The Car is still running fine...any ideas?

probably there's something wrong an intermittent problem and the ecu logs a pending code... probably it will go away if notr the beginning of a fault with a sensor or something related to it … if the problem continues would be a good idea to have it scanned at your local mechanic or if you wanna proceed on your own buy a diagnostic tool or have a look at supercheap...they do a test for a small charge and they should give you a copy of all stored fault codes in the ecu and continue from there
Thank you for you reply, I had it scanned and apparently it is a throttle position error, so I think it might be the sensor
it might be...I would suggest if you want to replace it by yourself go after used one...there's a self serve yard at blacktown….it shouldn't be too difficult to replace... if not take it to a mechanic ...depending on the age of the car I wouldn,'t spend 300 400 S to buy a brand new part and get replaced by the mechanic...anyway it's just a suggestion...Up to you.... good luck

I have recently purchased a 2006 Astra AH and had the battery go flat so need to reprogram the clock the car manual doesn’t seem to give me the right instructions. When I press the settings button all it comes up with is audio and then the arrow buttons only have radio settings. Please advise?

It could be a number of reasons why it came on.
You need to get a scan tool plugged in to see if the ECM has logged any faults codes.

I have a leaking fluid in my engine bay that creates white smoke. Can anyone tell me what it is or can I get an engine bay diagram so I know what in doing?

The fluid could be a range of things to be honest. If you spill oil in the engine, it will smoke on things like the exhaust manifold. Areas to check are where the crankshaft pulley is, hoses for power steering, sump gasket. You can narrow it down by the fact that if there is white smoke and it is an oil, it has to be getting on something pretty hot to burn like the exhaust possibly. Park the car and put some cardboard underneath and check it in the morning. It will give you an indication if you have a leak and where it is coming from.

Hi looking at a 2007 Astra convertible
It is very low km but the electric roof won't open, makes all the right sounds but won't open.
It was working so I am assuming something dumb, just disconnected the battery to see if it will reset.
Appreciate any thoughts?
