Not a reliable car. Constant issues with car. Cost a fortune to run and maintenance. I would never recommend this car to anyone as I feel it is not safe or a sturdy vehicle. Transmission and engine problems has been the most issues that have arrised over the past 2 years.

This is actually the worst car I have ever had.
Constant stalling, low idle, shuttering. Taken to 3 different mechanic and they haven’t been able to fix. All them like to steer clear to be honest.
I finally got to give t back to the car yard I got it from thank god

Bought second hand with around 80.000 km on the clock. I bought it because it was a cheap car but you do get what you pay for in this case. I have been left stranded 3 times, each time with a different hose blowing and subsequently the car overheating. Problem = blown head gasket.
Airbag light came on and off multiple times on its own and I had 2 total electrical failures that also fixed themselves.
Happy to see the back of it and part ways with the definition of a lemon...

Terrible car, money pit of issues that Holden can't diagnose the fault. Shuts down when driving leaving no lights, no brakes or anything. Have to try and restart car whilst free wheeling. Despite sinking $2k in repairs and diagnosis to Holden and mechanic no-one could fix the issue. As too unsafe to drive due to random engine switch off got rid of it. Contacted Holden and they didn't really care. Don't buy one of these. 2006 low kms.

Looks and features of this car are great - but DON'T BE FOOLED! This car is nothing more than a "re-badged" Korean Daewoo Lacetti piece of crap with enough mechanical problems to sink a battle ship!
I purchased this car in 2011 with only 34,000ks on the clock for $15,500. Less than 12mths later - the engine light came on for no apparent reason sending the car into "limp mode" Nothng wrong was detected with the engine but it's an "O2 sensor" issue, and the only way to get it out of "limp mode" is to "reset" the computer codes. Even Holden di...

This car has given me nothing but trouble!
The engine light came on with in the first few months of owning it, it would lose power or even stall making driving an hour to uni most days extremely dangerous and scary! it has had 2 oil leaks in the last year at one point the oil leaks were in 3 different places. The airbag light comes on and off as it pleases and to top the cake it the transitimation has completely died and is in the process of being fixed this is costing me $2500 not including labour hours and the other problems that are being fixed as well.
Worst car I have ever owned!

I bought this car for my university student run around. It had about 100k on it. For the first few months it was running fine, then the issues started- airbag light on. Suddenly losing power whilst driving or when first go to turn it on. Also a fuel guzzler. This model should absolutely be recalled. No mechanic has been able to find out what the issue is. It is dangerous and a piece of crap.

2007 Holden Viva - worst decision ever. I was looking for a car that was affordable, follow-up on servicing plus my son was learning to drive and easier for him to learn on an auto. Issues with the engine light and climbing hills. I should have stuck to my first decision instead of the Holden Viva.

Bought my Holden Viva 2006 from a car yard about 9months ago.. since then have had nothing but problems. Engine light has been on since ive taken it to car shops to get it checked and they dont even know what the problem is!! It stalls on me when my revs are to low so have to pretty much keep reving it when i come to a stop so it dont cut out on me. Stalls at round a bouts. Because i have to slow down. Pretend much a lemon. Would not recommend this car for anyone to buy! Sad thing is i used all my savings to buy this dam car. Worst thing ever terrible on fuel as well

Bought the car recently, used 2006 MODEL low kms !! after one week of purchased the car had a problem every couple of months my mechanic told me that this model will always have problems and to sell it immediately. The gear box completely shut down. It became completely unroad worthy. Apparently Daewoo made the Viva for Holden .. Disgusting would never buy a Holden car again. Cost more to repair and still there was ongoing problems. STAY AWAY!!!!

Purchased brand new and serviced exactly as recommended. Has done 112,000 km's.
Now have major transmission issues. Is not there all the time is very unpredictable and is always when on open highway (drives OK in neighbourhood 60 zones) Car suddenly rev's very high and looses power.
Previous issues include: Warning lights coming and going. They come on for a day or so and just as your about to book it in to see what the problem is it stops.
Air con switch wouldn't stay on (this was caused by leaking gas) when gas is low it's programmed to not stay on.
I won't ever buy a Holden again

My first car was a 2005 holden viva, bought second hand from a dodgy dealer in townsville qld (north qld car sales?) the day i drove it home the engine light came on! Never actually found out the problem because every time something got fixed the thing would come back on within hours of driving it out of the mechanics.
I moved to brisbane a year later, car managed to survive the trip. The entire year in brisbane the car ran amazing up until october when i was driving the car and it was violently shuddering half way through my trip non stop an...

Ok fighting holden at the moment. My mother bought a viva in 2006. So many problems the car is a complete lemon. I am 34 and have purchased 3 new cars in my life one being a nissan pulsar and never had a problem with it drove that little car into the ground never failed once then traded it for my nissan patrol i have now. That being said the holden viva is the worst car i have ever seen. I have never seen such a cheaply made piece of [Word Removed]. From engine stalling at 100km an hour down the freeway to its cheap interior breaking, to its fa...
Read moreulty components like brakes to fuel pumps to now they think it possible could be an oxygen sensor $1000's later of diagnostics and multiply parts replaced still unfixed and costing money.Never ever by a holden and i have supported holden my entire life. Not anymore. My email is [email protected] (all lower case) Looking to get people together with any issue with there holden viva or similar holden models because its just not the viva alone lets stand up and all get together and tell holden exactly that we will not be ripped off. I believe this car should be recalled and actually refund everyone. If its such a great car holden can have them back and resell them easy lol.- BodyHatch

Purchased Second Hand with only 15000 on the clock, Was a great car for the first year or so then it started falling apart, Coolant leaks due to failing hoses, Oil leaks, Struts gone buy 35000ks, auto position switch failed, Park lock safety switch failed, Used more petrol than our commodore, Paint came of door handles, constant issues with the engine light, park brake died, Cheap plastics in the interior started to discolour, Head light had to be replaced due to the reflector failing, original stereo died, but the best was yet to come at 450...
Read more00 the timing belt tensioner pully failed dropping the timing belt! $2000 later and the car still would not run correctly and needed more work. Sold the car as it was at a massive loss. this was my wifes car and was allways serviced and looked after and garaged but lasted all of 45000Kms, No one stocked replacement parts other than holden so it cost heaps of $$ for parts. We were expecting to get years out of this car and only managed 3.5 these Korean holdens are RUBISH, our ve now has 230000 klms on it and still going strong. We have replaced the viva with a forester so fingers crossed! Dont get fooled by the hatches good looks these cars are terrible. Good Looking car but dont get fooled shocking quality, lasted less than 50,000klms, cheap and nasty!- TransmissionAuto

Bought this car brand new. Headlights keep blowig up every year and have to replace the headlights. Not replaceable by road services have to take to an auto electrician. Since you only notice this at night when you are out you are doomed. Chooses up a lot of fuel not very economical.
it was a small compact car
head lights keep blowing up every year

Wat is the car stereo pin code to unlock stereo or how do I get because I dont have the car manual
I think they are all different and you have to pay through a Holden dealership with proof of ownership to get the code, personally I'd just put that money toward a new stereo as they aren't that good....
