2012 CBR1000rr ABS
Absolutely a great all ground bike. It can be used daily as a commute or weekend fun. The mid range is awesome. I see other manufacturers looking at doing more with their mid range. It is really a 5 star bike, but i am taking one off because of the brake feel.
The abs is the best i have ever used, but comes at a price. The brake feel on this bike is terrible. The brake level's travel various depends on the type of braking you are doing. It feels spongy most times. It is simply not a good feel.

2007 Honda CBR 1000RR - Still a great bike
Love the bike, easier to ride than my R1 which I owned previously, the R1 had more power, but not as easy to ride as the CBR in my opinion, the CBR has enough power and it can do some amazing things on a race track, it has more than enough power to satisfy any road going biker, I like the looks of the 07 CBR 1000RR better than the 08. It has an exceptional gear box and the brakes are great, be sure to put a decent set of tyres on it.
Reliable hassle free motorcycle, Good looks
Sounds a bit weak in comparison to Ducati or R1

Third bike for mid life crisis biker. Everything told me not to buy such a bike but looks so great it was now or never, so chose now and it was there in my garage. Was concerned that I would have difficulty riding but found it so smooth that everything came easy. The gearbox is the best I have riden. Low end torque makes low speed riding good and pulls great from 2000rpm. Brakes fantastic and suspension does everything very well. So far 19km/ltr fuel useage is better than thought. Fingers crossed about the reported oil useage issues. Have put i...Read more
n 200ml to top up and has been 1600km since last changed. Goes faster than it feels and everything comes up quickly so need to concentrate 100% of the time. The exhaust note at 4000rpm (94km/h in 6th) is great as this is when the valve opens up in the exhaust.. Acceleration far exceeds anything I have seen before. Smooth, gearbox, looks great no fuel guage

2011 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade in Black
Visit the Doctor, the Doctor say's I don't think you should be riding bikes any more.
Visit a Honda showroom and swap my 2009 Civic Type R for a 2011 Fireblade, before I get too old I had better just do it.
3 miles away from the showroom I stop and look at what I have done, will I get home? can I cope?
13 months later this bike is one of the best things I have ever done, the bike is a jewel, I could never be up to the standard you need to be to get the best out of the bike but it is fun trying.
The bike is so smooth and easy to ride, ...Read more

Honda's best effort to date
From 2008 to 2012 this bike has only had minor upgrades. Won endless awards for very good reasons.Honda put a huge amount of upgrades when they brought out this model, including an awesome slipper clutch, and most importantly, lowering the centre of gravity. These two items make make this model so easy to ride through the twisty bits that you have to wait for your mates at the other end.
Handling of this bike though the tight twisty roads. The slipper clutch is incredible how late into a corner you can still be knocking down the gears. The cent...Read more

Perfect in everyway
After owning many motorcycles, mainly Suzuki's i ended up buying the 2008 CBR1000RR two weeks after its release in Australia.
Honda motorcycles just have a better feel and finish in my opinion.
The only mods i have done is fitted braided brake lines (from www.motorcycleracegear.com.au) and made a smaller fender eliminator.
Other then that, everything else is stock.
Recommend highly:)
Fast, reliable, looks hot

Excellent
Cracking bike - superbly built. Looks great. dead easy to ride. very fast. The front end if superb, great feel and confidence inspiring.
However, its a bit too perfect. It lacks engine 'personality'. The R1 looks better and feels faster. But its still a great bike.
Great styline - its a handsome bike. Handling is fabulous. Fast without being intimidating - it fact its faster than it feels
Its a bit quiet (needs a pipe) and the engine is a bit too civilised

Best bike I've ever ridden.Have being riding 30 years & also roadrace.
Note this is a sports bike NOT a commuter or tourer.
Just do it you won't be disappointed.
Handles like a dream. Goes goes and goes.
Maybe too powerful for inexperienced riders.
Overall a sensational bike.
Difficult to remove pillion pegs.
Standard pipe looks bad.

At what stage does the power band kick in?? The 2007 Fire blade 1000RR I'm looking has a Power Commander.Ive been told it will wheelie very easily!!!

Hi. The CBR's I have owned are 2010 model (previous bike) and 2013 (current bike). No actual power band although 2008 - date bikes have a exhaust valve that opens at 4200rpm, this reduces engine braking and increases noise. Power delivery very linier through the entire rev range. Very controllable as well as being extremely powerfull.
Agree with Keith3, the Fireblade has a smooth linier delivery through the entire rev range. It makes an ideal all rounder. Sure, you can still do wheelie if you want.
