GPS is extremely disappointing
Bought my Honda HR-V 5 door A VTI-L in July 2017. The car itself is great, good size, roomy and easy to manoeuvre. However, the GPS tracking is a real letdown, especially for a woman. In the first twelve months of ownership it was refurbished. In the second year the car was fitted with a new updated GPS and now into its third year it still does not guide me in the right direction. Response time is slow. Have already driven past a turn before it informs me. Will tell me to turn when I am driving on a freeway where there is no turn. Tells ...Read more
me I still have several kms to go then all of a sudden I am 300 metres away. Very disturbing and totally unsafe when there is traffic. Honda recently suggested I spend an additional $200 for the latest update to hopefully improve tracking. The vehicle still has a little more than two years warranty on it and the GPS was only replaced last year. What a joke.Purchased in July 2021 at Honda Dealers.

Love this car
I use my car daily and drive about 1 and a half to 2 hours per day.
I commute through the city and it is serving me well.
It's comfortable, I love the leather seats and the high driving position. The large sun room is brilliant and I have it uncovered year round which is nice. I get the car serviced once a year which is great.
I have had issue with the navigation system, but Honda have agreed to replace the unit, so I am very happy with the service.
Purchased in November 2021 at John Blair Honda for $35,000.00.

Easy drive that has all the latest features
very easy to handle, very fuel economic and quick.
love the entertainment centre which automatically syncs to my phone and the last song i was listening to.
Bluetooth calling is a bit hit an miss with the volume and i have no idea why i have to shout to be held. Also the parking sensors go off randomly and they have been replaces a couple of times so unsure what is wrong with them. Also the tyres deflation alarm goes off every week and i do have to fill atleast 3 tyres every week but i had a similar problem with my cr-v
But i do love this car so much and its wonderful full length sunroof and leather seats.
Boot space is really spacey and fold up seats allows me to fit alot of stuff.
Purchased in December 2021 at Dave Potter Honda for $43,000.00.

Great car. Poor tech
The car is great. Nice high ride position. Good fuel economy and performance. It has the best load capacity and flexiblity of all cars in its class.
The tech offering in the car is very poor. I had a ten year old car with better phone connectiviity and GPS. The unit only allows connection of one phone and often needs to be re-paired using Bluetooth. The GPS is slow to obtain a signal and often loses signal. Route planning does not select the quickest route and almost always selects for freeway and toll road travel. The red light camera warning...Read more

Good car but abysmal navigation system
Bought a HR-V 2017 build, and was pleasantly surprised on how spacious it is. It can definitely be used for a family car. Boot space is big enough for a large pram. It is pleasant to drive, but the steering wheel is a bit stiff (coming from Nissan).
The car however, is quite low and you would have to duck a fair bit to get inside. One thing that I dislike is the position of the navigation system: it is barely legible under the sunlight, and the in-built navigation system is definitely feels like an afterthought. Unfortunately there wasn't an...Read more
y Apple Carplay/Android Auto with my build year, otherwise I'd be getting that instead. Another downside is that even with the top badge, VTi-L, you still don't get all safety features like lane change detection. That's another $2000 to add. In my opinion, it's much better to get the VTi-S or even the VTi model, and add additional features. The car is quite new, so I can't really comment on reliability, however Honda provides 7-year warranty for HR-V, so that's always nice. On average I refuel every 500-600km.Similar opinion? Beautiful looking car, overall good
Bought my Honda hrv vti-l a year ago and really enjoy driving it, it’s smooth and the handling is great as it should be for a 38k+ luxury car.
The look is the main reason I picked it as I like the look of this suv over some others, the interior is good especially the leather, only negative is the built in gps is useless and I don’t even tend to use it at all. The extras with luxury is handy like the emergency break and the sensors making driving super easy and safe.
It’s so far been reliable but only around a year in so we will see how it...Read more
goes.. runs well and a tank of petrol seems to last around a week or so for me. Would recommend it as a medium suv for most people just if you choose the my17 model - I’d suggest not getting the built in gps as I regret choosing that. Rate it 4/5 overall.Similar opinion? 2017 Honda HRV
I like my Honda as I sit up a bit higher than in my old Mazda 3. It's not too big, easy to park and seems quite economical. I like the safety features such as camera when changing into left lane - very handy. It does not have a lot of oomph - but for me, just driving around, it is fine. I have driven it on the Hume and it travels very nicely.

Shocking A/C = not cold at all
The A/C in my Honda HRV is shocking if the weather in Melbourne gets over 30 its like a hot box.
Ive had it back to Honda 5 times and they cant fault it. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS CAR if you want to be kept cool in the summer months

Great car
Very happy with this SUV. Good visibility with rear cameras and sensors except the lane watch camera is a bit unsafe as it requires you to analyse the screen and take your eyes off the road. It has large boot capacity compared to other SUVs I researched and Hondas magic seats are really useful.

This car's ADAS and 5 star ANCAP safety rating makes it a perfect mid-size SUV
Not too sure about getting this car at first but can't fault this model and all the technology Honda has put into it. Bought the 2016 top of the line HRV, complete with the panoramic sunroof, magic leather seats and metallic paint. Quite impressed with the ADAS or Advance Driver Assist System which includes a lane departure warning camera on the left side mirror which allows you to view the lane you will be moving into before you signal, a forward collision warning based on travel at 15km/hr and high beam support system. It also has other usefu...Read more
l technology such as the CBAS or city brake active system, a VSA or vehicle stability assist which helps detect the driving course and prevents oversteering and reducing engine power to manage braking pressure when required, a tire deflation warning and HSA or hill start assist which prevents rollback when you put the handbrake off in an incline. The fuel efficiency is great around 12-13km/L consumption of unleaded 91 petrol. This car can do uphill driving without losing power even when there's 4 people on-board. I really like the versatility of the magic seats, the bigger boot space compared to other cars of similar size and the easy way to drive it and park it. Few things for improvement is the insulation on the doors, they're quite thin compared to the holden trax door insulation, it makes it look not-so-top-of-the-line. And the leather seats is just in black, no other option.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Noisy drive
Faulty dash and seats. Made a buzzing a craky sound. Proven to exist but never fixed. Was treated like garbage
Very poor service from Westside Honda and Honda Australia.
Car was a dream purchase that turned into a nightmare.
Was fairly economical and looked great
Shame...
Buyer Beware

Love this car
We looked at several different models before settling on the HR-V. Definitely the nicest drive of all similar sized cars but doesn't feel ridiculously large to drive. When driving you feel like you're driving a normal car, not a massive truck which some other cars feel like. Really roomy for a family of 4. Only issue is you can only put 2 car seats in the back and there isnt enough room to sit a 3rd person between the seats as the car is too narrow. The cameras were a new feature from our old car but really something you cant live without, its so handy.

New car
We bought the Honda HRV to replace a new Honda City. The car is so easy to get in and out off. Very good 3 way reversing camera with parking sensors. Very comfortable heated leather seats. Plenty of cup holders. The car has a very good turning circle so is good for around town or on a long drive with a very good drivers position.

Great Car, but no GPS in this day and age is just silly
I bought this car as i love Hondas and i have had 2 Other Honda Civics.
I took the car to a dealer in Rosebury for my first service, they informed me of an oil leak that will take 2 days to fix.
This actually took 2 weeks, i complained so much to Honda but all they could offer was extended warranty, still it's better than nothing.
Not having a native GPS in this car is just ludicrous, I spent nearly $200 on the cable kit to use my phone and the Hondalink Application but it was so bad i stopped after 2 attempts.
Now at least Honda learnt it was rubbish and have changed to Sygic, unfortunately even Sygic doesn't work for me as the car doesn't recognise my phone anymore (I haven't changed my phone since i bought the car)

A nice solid small SUV
A nice, solid little SUV that is great for a small family. Not the best drive in the world, but it ticks the boxes across the board for a good SUV that is a nice value. Solid features, a decent price, almost a 5 star car but it's missing just a couple of little things that make it a 4 star.

Love the HR-V
I have had this car 6 months now and love it. It is roomy inside, takes a double pram (Uppa Baby Vista) and weekly shopping load plus baby bags etc no issues. I have two carseats installed (safe and sound compaq) and could not fit another one across however can take another small adult passenger/ child in the middle.
Negatives: Aircon is very noisy when fan on full.
Positives: spacious, comfortable, easy to handle/ park, great safety features.

Compact SUV - Small outside but roomy inside
We purchased the VTi-L with the modulo sports kit because we liked the sporty look and wanted the sunroof. This car is surprisingly smooth for a 1.8L engine. It lacks high end power but for day to day driving its adequate with average fuel efficiency of 9L/100km (city driving). Engine noise is noticeable during acceleration but not loud. The car is very roomy inside compared to other competitors (Mazda CX3 and Nissan Qashqai). The wife finds the Honda HRV drive very pleasant and loves the additional sensors, cameras, features & integrated techn...Read more

My little toy!
The ratings for this model are inaccurate as the 1999 model is completely different to the latest model. I purchased mine 4 months ago. I was deciding between a Mazda CX3 or this one. The Mazda's cabin was a let down so it was down to this beauty. It's is the VTi-L model (I wanted the sunroof and the sports' wheels) in carnelian red. I absolutely love everything (except for the fact that it doesn't have built in GPS but that's ok when you've got Metroview on your iPhone). It's a complete package and the magic seats give it so much room at the b...Read more
ack. The seat warmers are a good bonus and I find the auto CVT to help make up for the lack of oomph in the 1.8 L engine. I find the brake hold very handy when waiting at the lights and the Eco assist lighting gives a nice glow at night when driving. It's a great car for a young couple or single lady who is after something bigger than a hatchback and smaller than a 4WD and stays within the city. (Although the other day I drove 200km out of Perth and it was a smooth drive all the way.)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
