My granny flat went from no storage to having loads of storage in a matter of hours!
I recently moved into a granny flat that had absolutely no storage besides a couple of cupboards in the kitchen. No laundry/linen cupboard, no pantry and nowhere to put my clothes. After spending hours on the internet, going from furniture shop to shop and spending several hours at IKEA, I settled on the Musken wardrobe because of the amount of storage it had, it looked easy to assemble and because it had this "old" look that would suit my old granny flat.
I bought 2 wardrobes, they fit in the Hyndaui Iload van easily and took 4 hours to assem...
Read moreble in total. Instructions were easy to follow. I recommend reading them from start to finish, before starting to assemble so you have a rough idea of how it all goes together. Don't get ahead of yourself. I am really happy with the quality. The doors and drawers are working really well and they haven't gotten stuck or bowed. The wardrobe comes with optional shelves, I left them out so I could hang long dresses. I think for the amount of storage you get, it's an absolutely bargain. The only downside is that they look like they would be difficult to pull apart and move to the next rental, so I will probably leave them and sell them to the future tenant. If you move a lot and don't have the man power or a trailer, then look for something else. If you're staying somewhere long term, then this is your wardrobe.

Re-purposed wardrobe
One product that nobody makes particularly well is the laundry cupboard. The room allowed in specially purposed ones for storage of assorted brooms, mops, laundry baskets, steam machines, laundry products, etc., is pitifully small and ridiculously narrow. What are the designers thinking?
After a good research, I decided to buy two IKEA Musken wardrobes instead. They are much better to use. They cost $369 each, plus $85 delivery. They measure 124 cms wide and 60 cms deep. They are 200 cm high. There are adjustable shelves and 3 drawers, one lo...
Questions & Answers
please advise thickness of walls, doors and back.
I have two of these, and they are very useful. The frame seems to be made of mdf board and covered with melamine, and is 1.9 cms thick. The shelves are 1.9 cms thick. Where there are inset panels, such as the doors, they are 1.6 cms on the edges. It is inset on both sides of these 1.6 cm ones. The total weight of the unit is 103 kilograms, which comes in three packages. I could not lift any of them. It took two professional builders a day to assemble and mount each cupboard.
