Disappointing
Having same problem it appears as others. Vacuum works well for first couple of years then starts to fall apart. Every time I use it or empty the bag something else breaks, plastic pieces falling off all the time. Don't even touch something and it breaks. Wheel broke off, hinges broken, switches and now held together with duck tape. Never buy this brand again, expense with no quality.
Purchased in August 2021 at Godfreys for $1,200.00.

Very disappointed
Purchased Sauber Intelligence in 2012 through Godfreys, told very reliable and durable machine would last a lifetime. Was good for the first few years then started falling apart, plastic pieces cracking, dust bag lid cracked and fell apart at both hinges, hand control for power head cracked into pieces in my hand, wheels fell off. Vacuum ended up being held together by sticky tape and glue. Expected so much more for the expensive price tag. Have never had a vacuum fall apart like this one. Will not buy this brand again.
Purchased in March 2021 at Godfreys Physical Stores for $1,500.00.

Don’t buy this, not worth the money
Works well on both tiles and carpet so happy with that. The problem is it has lots of plastic parts and they break easily, lost a wheel and various other bits have broken. Machine still runs well but if you just lightly hit a door jamb the plastic breaks. It is an expensive machine and should not stint by using plastic instead of metal.
Purchased in October 2021 for $1,200.00.

Consider something else
Purchased 7 years ago, works ok on all floors.
Reported an issue when vacuum was 6months old and under warranty, and again at my first service, Informed that vacuum was fine and no faults, now vacuum is out of warranty (vacuum has 5yr warranty 10yr free service) my original reported fault is recognised but is to be repaired at my cost!! And we understand you reported it sir when under warranty but bad luck it will cost you $$
If you try to contact the seller or manufacturer they are owned by the same and your completely out of luck!! then th...Read more
ey accuse you that you have mistreated the vacuum!! The manual shows you how to store vacuum and this is what actually causes my reported fault, and many other people also I would imagine. After many phone calls, visits to store, msg them, email them, they will admit 1/2 the fault and give you half the cost but its all one related issue that was reported at the correct time so should be not my cost, as nothing was done when reported under warranty!!Purchased at Godfreys.

out all costs and parts where covered when I collected vacuum. Which I greatly accepted and contacted Godfreys directly to say that. I am disappointed I had to continually complain to get the right action as I reported the issue correctly when unit was in warranty! The new hose looks to be a better design but the base appears the same, so I will not store vacuum how manual instructs. I feel sorry for the franchise that sells the vacuum as they are obviously let down after they sell the product with warranty and repairs. This damages a product brand as I will purchase differently in the future.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Most expensive and most troublesome until imaginable.
I bought my Sauber in 2013 from a Godfrey's store and initially was super impressed. It had and still has great suction, however it is now all held together by electrical tape and a grunt strap to keep the filter door closed as the machine has literally fallen apart. The suction hose handle with the control switches fell apart also... More tape. Again though I would have to give the suction a top rating, although it does turn itself off quite regularly in use. As for the intelligence..... Hmmm.... I didn't really observe how it got to wear this...Read more
badge???? So the jury is out on who would be the biggest sucker.... The purchaser or the Sauber. I personally regret purchasing the unit, and would advise anyone considering buying one to see if they have built them a bit tougher.Purchased at Godfreys for $1,600.00.

Expensive and Poor Quality
I wish I had read these reviews before spending $1,500 on a vacuum cleaner that will not last a life time as the Godfreys salesman suggested.
We bought the Vacuum Cleaner in January 2015 from Godfreys with a big sales pitch. We have a carpeted house and two small dogs and wanted a vacuum that would suck up dog hair well. The beating head does a fantastic job at getting all the dog hair off the carpet and furniture. However, the beating head only lasted 2 years before it broke and the replacement we had to pay for has only lasted 2 years to...Read more

poor quality vaccum cleaner
This is the worst and most expensive vaccum cleaner ever!. It certainly is very cheaply made but it has a very EXPENSIVE price tag!, It is very heavy and difficult to manouver. This vaccum has been repaired at least once a year ever since I bought it and I only use it to vaccum 4 rugs in my house. I would never buy this vaccum cleaner ever again. poor quality and there is nothing intelligent about this item. Also the Replacement bags are very expensive.
Purchased at Godfreys for $2,000.00.

Heavy and Pathetic
It’s the damn heaviest, bulkiest piece of rubbish vacuum cleaner there is. Hardly manoeuvres and sucks up absolutely nothing, just pushes it all around. Also a weird smell? It’s gross.

Garbage, but expensive garbage, real expensive garbage. Nearly every party crack or broken. Disgusting
Cracked quickly bags fill in no time and cost a large fortune. Now giving electric shock. Please don't buy this graphic just encourages them. Buy a cheap benelli from target. 100 dollars with warranty.

Such a waste of money!!!
My Mum and I each bought this vacuum from the local Godfery's store with what sounds like the same old sales pitch "this is the best vacuum you ever buy and will last you a lifetime, it's just like the old hoover". I'm not sure what they call a lifetime, but I certainly don't call 5-6 years a lifetime. My Mum has always struggled to pull the vacuum around with her arthritis and has hardly used her machine because of this. She now uses a Dyson stick vac and wasted her money buying the Sauber. Mum's Sauber has a broken swivel wheel. There ar...Read more
e quite a few broken parts on my Sauber - the resting place on the side of the machine, the cord doesn't retract without help, and the handle on the hose that powers the power head. I have also noticed the funky smell other reviewers have mentioned. Mum and I have taken advantage of the lifetime capped servicing but last year the sales guy tried to sell me a new vacuum due to me being so unhappy with with Sauber. Uh no, for a $1580 machine, I would like it to last more than 5 years thank you. The power head has now stopped working altogether after 6 months of working on and off. My husband took it to another Godfrey's store today and we have had to purchase a new hose/handle for $150 and the sales guy there advised we would need to replace the power head in the next 2 years for another $300, but it would be better to do it now given parts are becoming harder to buy.... yet another sales pitch! The sales guy also tried to sell my husband another new vacuum cleaner for another $1300. I'm just a tad over paying big bucks for rubbish products! Not to mention this Sauber has been painful to drag around the house and has ruined my skirting boards and door frame corners as it doesn't maneuver very well. At first I liked how well the Sauber suctioned and cleaned my carpets, but it certainly doesn't now. I didn't enjoy having to switch the vacuum head for the carpet and tiled areas so ended up using the power head all the time. I have also had problems with the Sauber rolling over during use. Overall I'm am not satisfied with my Sauber vacuum cleaner and feel it has been money wasted!Purchased in July 2021 at Godfreys Physical Stores for $1,580.00.

GREAT SUCTION, BUT HOUSING LITERALLY FALLS APART. EXPENSIVE TO FIX.
Like everyone else, I was in LOVE with the suction power when I first brought my sauber home. The suction was SO impressive, that I was able to excuse how “awkward” the machine was to physically maneuver, and the strong ‘musty’ smell it created. Unit itself is very heavy and swivel wheel broke off after only 3 weeks. Took back to Godfreys, they happily replaced it, no questions asked. This scenario repeated 4 times. It was almost a “joke” with the staff and I. About 2years after purchasing, we bought a house that was completely tiled, so the go...Read more
od suction element became redundant. We packed the Sauber away, thinking we may need it in the future. 2 yrs later we were doing a big clean out and decided to sell the sauber, to recoup some of the $1700 we’d spent on it. We originally asked for $900, but only got the occasional interest, with one buyer pulling out after reading a bad review. We packed it back up and decided to trade it in to Godfreys, when we were ready to buy a new vacuum. No good.. Godfreys offered us $300 trade in, or $500 if we upgraded to the latest Sauber. Not interested, we decided to sell it privately, and declined. Cut to today, I’ve posted it on a local site for $200, taking into consideration it is an older model, with a broken swivel wheel and housing on buttons fell apart when I pulled it out of storage. I’ve taped it back on, and it doesn’t affect the use in any way. Buyer messaged me an hour ago, wanting to pick it up, so went and got it out of the storage box. It fell apart!!!! Almost every bit of plastic on it has cracked/crumbled?!?!?!? Have attached photos. Will never buy/recommend this product ever again. Considering even going to the media, as $1700 for such poor quality is a master scam!!! All other parts on sauber are virtually brand new! You would think that I had thrown this unit from a moving vehicle, by the photos... Not sat in in a storage box!!Purchased at Godfreys for $1,700.00.

Extremely dissatisfied with this ridiculously expensive vacuum
Purchased this just over 5 years ago from Godfrey's. I thought with it costing so much and being serviced every year it would last for many years but it only took 5 years for it to stop working. Just passed the 5 year warranty! And that's with regular annual service and extra $ spent on changing filters, etc. Not only that but it's so heavy and bulky to use. Massive regrets for having purchased it. Now we've bought a Dyson and are much happier.
Purchased in November 2021 at Godfreys Physical Stores for $1,699.00.

Ideal for a business, not so good for home use
The Sauber Intelligence Vacuum cleaner is a well engineered powerful cleaner unit. Perfect for an open plan office or business premises. But for use in the average home it becomes heavy and difficult to control around furniture and moving from room to room. The connecting hose tends to disengage unless extreme care is taken to ensure connectivity before using. The showroom demonstration was very thorough but conducted on a flat open carpeted floor with no obstacles which was very misleading. Again, no fault of or with the cleaner, it just did n...Read more

Great Vacuum
Great vacuum, quiet in its operation, good suction. Love the different heads and its capacity. It also has a good cord length. It doesn't maneuver quite as well as my old vacuum, but I am sure I will get used to that.

FALLING APART
Polished floors and carpet, plastic has nearly all broken off. Price to repair at last service was ridiculous.
Does vacuum well but disappointed in body longevity.
Cumbersome in small rooms and hose can be inflexible.

Do not purchase. Bought my Sauber in 2012, absolutely loved it, the suction is second to none. Then it started literally falling apart. The cord wouldn't pull out, the housing started falling off, wheels not turning, then.finally wouldn't even turn on! Took it back, basically told I'm to rough lol,( I'm not at all) bit more demanding, and got a replacement.
