Good reusable cup
I purchased this cup to reduce the amount of waste I was generating with disposable coffee cups. I have found it to be really easy to use and have successfully avoided disposable cups most of the time since.
The cup isn't insulated, but it is easy to hold a hot drink without burning your hands. It's not designed to be spill-proof, but I think it is probably more spill-proof than a disposable cup, in that the lid would be less likely to come off completely if it fell over in the car or similar.
I have not struck any issue with the taste ...Read more
of my drinks from the cup, which is polypropylene. Being plastic, it's also shatter proof and it is dishwasher proof. I am very impressed with how easy the cup is to clean. Even if it has sat unwashed for several hours, I find it will clean up perfectly with no effort in warm soapy water. The lid fits snugly enough to be secure but isn't so tight it is a pain to open and all the components can be dismantled to clean really thoroughly. I have had no issues with the cup leaking when I am drinking from it. All parts are replaceable and you can even design your own cup choosing the colour of each component on their website. I didn't do this because it was a bit cheaper to just buy one locally and there are so many colours to choose from, I couldn't decide. P.S. after nine months use, just as happy. The cups have never leaked, don't smell and are still easy to clean. I have bought one for guests! Very happy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
How to fix leaking keep cup
I have a glass jeep cup that I've had for a year, but a few weeks ago developed a small leak from the lid. No obvious damage to it, just an imperfect seal. I managed to fix it by putting both the glass and lid into a bowl of boiling water, fishing them out with tongs, and then pressing the lid onto the cup while it was still hot, and then letting it cool with the lid on.
Worked for me, so thought I'd share.
Otherwise, I love the keep cup, use it every day, and much prefer the glass over the plastic one I had. Coffee tastes better in it than out of take away cups - I think the bigger hole lets more flavour through.

Assauge Your Disaposable Coffee Cup Guilt
Having read a recent 'Choice' magazine article on how bad so-called disaposable coffee cups are for the environment I went out and purchased a Keep Cup - Longplay. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and it is great. The longplay is a glass cup with an outer silicone(?) sheath that fits over the glass, coming around 3/4 of the way up the side, giving a double wall which provides great insulation. The cup, cover, band and lid are all recyclable when you finally decide to bin it. The glass is great to drink out of, the insulation keeps my coffee hot while protecting my hand and it is easy to clean. they are fairly pricey (medium longplay is $35) but it will last and I am now MUCH less guilty about my daily coffee.

KeepCup great product and great customer service!
I ordered two small glass KeepCups and had them delivered via Australia Post. When they arrived one of them was totally shattered. I sent a message via the online inquiry form and within 24 hours had a response from a staff member apologising for the incident and offering a solution that I was more than impressed with. I really appreciate efficient customer service and understanding from businesses, especially those that have a large online presence.
I love my keepcup and use it every day. They are a great product and I encourage everyone to be more mindful and take measures to care for our planet!

Keep Cups are great if you get the right one for you.
Best to get 2 Keep Cups - one for your out and about and one for at home or in the car.
The only issue is that the top has a hole in it to stop it from boiling I guess - but this means if you move much it will leak - spilling on your fingers. Also the plug can easily come off. This would be solved by better design.
The most likely thing to happen is you wash it at work and someone pinches it or you forget it next time you go to the coffeeshop. Expensive mistake. Best to write your name on it.

Leaks
Just like everyone says - I've had the plastic, and the "improved" glass one and they both leak around the lid. Complained to keepcup and their suggestion was to buy a new one. Yeah, not gonna happen.

It leaks - and it's brand new
It leaks. I'm sorry, but it does. It has leaked since the day it arrived. You tip it up to drink, and you end up covered with liquid. The seal is nowhere near tight enough. I have the new, improved glass one, and it leaks.

Responsive to their customers
Love my glass keep cup. My first lid was a little loose and leaked. Took it in to their Fitzroy office and they replaced it. No leak. Great cup. Good customer service.

Perfect Cup in Theory
However, practically, it leaks from the lid after a while. The cup doesn't hold the heat of warm drinks. Lastly, it's expensive. Unfortunately, what saves this cup from being a 0 is that it looks great. If they would address the issues, this would be 5 stars. Oh well.

Leakity leak leak
Sorry KeepCup but you have one job!
Hold the liquid until I poor it down my gob.
I can use it, but I have to wear a bib.
At least now I have a nice collection of shirts with funky hipster coffee stains down the front...

Sorry I Bought Them
- Site stated orders $70+ free shipping, I ordered $100+ and charged $14 shipping. Told it was just for Australian customers. (Doesn't say on the site).
- Charged another $25 COD because shipped from the US. (Doesn't say on the site).
- Woman said she'd have to check order date against the free shipping banner date before refunding $14.

It leaks from the lid
It is a great idea, but mine has been leaking (from the lid) after a couple of months of using it. I bought one to save on waste, and now, I have to use paper towels to clean the mess, and will have to dispose of more plastic.

nice shape but it leaks
Would be a perfect cup if it didn't have one major flaw. The lid leaks! It wasn't due to wear and tear, it leaked from new.

Nice cup - too bad it leaks
I've gone through a few of these. It's a lovely cup with a nice feel to drink from.
Unfortunately, over time the lid loosens up and starts to leak. I've replaced the lid, and this solved the problem....for a year or so. I'm back to a leaking cup again and searching for an alternative.

Ok I guess. But have a plastic taste about them
I have been using one of these at work for the past 3 years, drinking 3 cups a day from it.
They are a good size, and the lid stops it from spilling on the way to meetings.
But because they are made from plastic, they impart a funny taste to the coffee, that can only be described as 'a plastic taste'
and they also tend to keep a residual coffee smell to them even after they are washed a number of times with soap and a scrubbing brush.
Given the option of a paper cup or a Keepcup - I prefer the taste from a paper cup.
What would be a better product idea, is a keepCup lid that fits onto a ceramic mug. ...Read more
Do keepCup make a ceramic mug? Good size, doesn't spill funny plastic taste, outside ring slips down,Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I wish it didn't leak...
I really want to use this all the time but the lid leaks a few drips, and has leaked a little ever since it was bought. I've read a few other people have had this same issue so I'm not about to buy another one but this flaw needs to be fixed.
great idea, good choice of colours
leaks from lid

Melbourne owned and innovative
These cups are great, and it dare not admit to the number in our house! The kids even use them and have a little mini one for milk.
I believe a new glass and cork one is soon to be released, great innovation.
I've tipped a full one over with no spills, which really surprised me.
My only reason not for 5 stars is the expense of buying replacement lids or closure tabs.
Australian product, good design and sizes
Replacement parts a little pricey

alright but i prefer ceramic
the keepcup is a great idea for minimising waste and love the ability to custom colours too. used to claim you could carry it in your bag which isn't true because it will drip if upside down/tilted enough so now they just say 'splash proof'. doesn't particularly keep drinks warm longer whereas a double-barreled ceramic travel mug will which i also prefer as my keep cup now smells funny (like a weird plastic container) after 3 years so i guess they don't last as long as the ceramic travel mugs. although they are lighter
colourful, enviro friendly, light
doesn't last forever, doesn't keep drinks warmer

Lovely little cup
I have had a few KeepCups now - the only reason being that people keep nicking them at work!
I recommend getting a larger size, as there are markings inside for a small coffee if you don't want quite so much. I like that you can also fill in on the band how you like your coffee.
The reason it's not 5 stars is a very finicky thing - my small one doesn't quite fit right in my car cup holder, and also they don't stack together very well if you're carrying two coffees.
Baristas like them, very sturdy, dishwasher safe, great range to change and personalise.
Doesn't quite fit in a car cup holder, 2 cups don't stack together well (cup on top of lid)

Wouldn't be without one
These are everywhere now but in case anyone is looking for reviews the Keep Cup is a great product from a great Australian company. You can buy them in three sizes. The espresso size is cute for kids too. You can customize the colours if you buy online. And they feel nice to drink out of, the lid goes on and off easily, and mine has lasted for ages with hardly any signs of wear.
protect the environment but still enjoy your coffee

Questions & Answers
Fozichasked
Put the lid in the dishwasher to clean it now everytime I take a sip I get a bit of a funky smell that affects the smell of the coffee. Any tips on how to get rid of the smell?
1 answer
I wouldn't recommend putting the lid in the dishwasher because the glue will come off over time that keeps the inside of the lid attached.
Wash it by hand ongoing, but I haven't had a strange smell from the lid from the times I had put it in the dishwasher. Unfortunately, the issue above occurred, so I hand-wash the lid now.
