Terrible taste

published

I can't even drink this to know whether or not it works because the taste is so bad! It's so awfully sweet that it's hard to stomach. I have a pretty major sweet tooth and even I find this way too sweet to the point of it being undrinkable. Will try diluting it but I'm guessing the effect would be much less if diluted. Might be best to try something else instead of this.

Purchased in October 2021 at Woolworths.

It’s great

published

I’m into my second box in less than a week and it’s helped me go to work, get to sleep and be more comfortable whilst travelling for work these past few days! It soothes my throat, head and seems to calm the swollen runny nose throat thing. I have not needed to use it every four hours usually only but do use it as required and it definitely helps decrease the pain and reduce symptoms. It also seems to work quickly for me and takes away my dull cold headache. It tastes fine!

No effect!

published

I persisted for 3 uses. Tastes okay if it's really hot but on cooling just a little bit it tastes like a paracetamol tablet in hot water. Didn't have any effect. I've now moved on to effective medications.

Taste is vile

The fourth time I drank a sachet I unintentionally made this weird throat sound and my gag reflex was activated. I could no longer drink this.

Lemsip Max side effects

published

Both hubby and myself took this when we had a bad cold and the flu. It gave both of us diarrhea, not something you want on top of the other symptoms. Lemsip original didn't have these side effects

This is my go to whenever I have a cold/flu

published

I love this stuff the taste is strong but I've had worse, it works within 30 minutes and is effective in getting rid of cold/flu symptoms. Love it will recommend

Super effective, but tastes absolutely AWFUL!

published

I have been feeling virus-y for the past 2 weeks - get better, then get worse. Repeat... Heard about lemsip, so thought id give it a go. It was really effective at treating a very sore throat, headache and runny, raw nose. Will continue using, but i have to dilute one sachet (im using the blackcurrant) into two mugs as the taste is atrocious!! Sickly sweet. I might actually try adding lemon juice to it to tone down what tastes like fake sweetner. The phenyephrine (? Sp) does not cause sleeplessness in me.

pretty good

I have used all the cold and flu mixtures and found this one to be the best as it works fast and lasts for 3 to 4 hours / it is excellent product though I found that the new lemsip blackcurrant flavour with decongestant to taste and work better

If you don't like swallowing tablets maybe this one is for you, but make sure you can stand the taste and enjoy preparing it. Otherwise it will be just like a cup of flavored tea with a taste of medicine in it.
I don't like it too much, really
I think it was meant to be a nice hot drink that you would expect to have when catching cold. But I found the taste to be unpleasant, it tastes too much like medicine. Preparing it is a hassle, and it is not very effective as well. I found normal cold tablets are actually more effective.

OK

published

I tried this a few times and it is effective but I find I prefer to gargle soluble panadol or asprin and then make my own fresh honey and lemon tea to soothe my throat as the taste of the Lemsip is not very pleasant. If you like the taste if synthetic lemon flavours then this could be great for you though.
It is effective and it is good to be able to drink it warm, especially when you have a sore throat.
I don't like the taste at all, it is an over powering chemical and fake lemon flavor.

I can't stand teh super strong chemical lemon taste of lemsip. My husband loves the taste of it and it does work but I can't handle it. It tastes so chemically to me, that I would prefer a glass of lemon in hot water with honey for my cold than lemsip any day. Bonus is lemon and honey is cheaper and better for you as it doe not contain all the chemicals, preservatives and other bad things lemsip does.
It really does work and is probably my husbands favourite cold and flu product
The taste to me is hideous
