Good product at a reasonable price
This LG 32 inch TV was purchased as a bedroom unit. For this purpose, it has so far served me well. LG (Lucky Chemicals and Goldstar Electronics) is not the cheapest brand out there but quality control from the Indonesian factory seems to be very good with, so I'm told by salesmen, a low return rate, so I guess you pay for this quality. Over $500 in 2018 does seem a little steep for a 32 inch tv, however. Still, it was nicely designed and had 3 HDMI ports which is something not a lot of the 32 inch tvs have. Since I have a DMR recorder, a cheap...no name blu ray player to play imported DVDs and a normal blu ray player from a good brand, 3 HDMI ports was a must. The picture quality on the 32LK61 is good with rich colours and good detail. The contrast from the IPS panel is pretty good too with blacks looking good during the day but at night it helps to leave a light on, otherwise the picture looks a bit washed out. This is apparently true of a lot of IPS panels. Sound quality is very good due to the DTS Virtual X surround on this TV; I thought this was a marketing gimmick but it does actually work. Overall the operating system is a Web OS design, exclusive to LG, and it's very good indeed. This is also a Direct Lit LED rather than an edge lit model and this affects the picture in a positive way, although the screen is chunkier than normal. In my opinion, LG has done a good job with this TV, although it is at the pricier end of the small screen market.
