I have installed a pair of Lightforce HTX to a Prado 150 December 2018. They have the Lightforce wiring loom and professionally installed by Opposite Lock. Do I like them? Yes. Do I love them? Not so sure. What I do like is the combination of the hybrid lights. The Led and HID in a single housing is an efficient use of space on the bullbar and with the sensor in the grill of the Prado compromised, they fit the bill. The ability to select either or both LED or HID is also a great reason to have these light as the HID tends to work better when le...Read more
ft on for longer periods so when the need to dip the lights regularly they are best isolated. The quality of light is also excellent and the road ahead is easily seen, kangaroos etc are easily spotted at distance. What disappoints me is the difficulty id adjusting them for best alignment. Maybe it's because of the side mounts of the bullbar that restricts access to the nuts that means to adjust the height, I first have to loosen the bottom nut to spin the light to access height adjustment. It's a small problem but one I find annoying. I did manage to snap one of the mounting brackets on rough corrugations and these were replace no questions asked under warranty. However I got the impression that this was not an uncommon problem. Would I buy them again? Possibly. The cost is quite high but they do an above expectation job. They fit in a small space that would otherwise limit me to either HID or LED, not both. Lightforce have released a Gen 2 of the HTX so maybe they are even better that the ones I have.Purchased in December 2021 at Opposite Lock Ferntree Guly.

200 Series
These lights are simply fantastic.
I run three of these on my 200 series, and do plenty of long-distance night driving. We don't fly, I've racked up 40,000klm witg these lights so far, zero issues.
The best light I've ever used, and I've used a few. Easily adjusted, setup on dual switches so I can run either LED, HID, or both should I choose.
Purchased in August 2021 for $700.00.

The best i have had.
Cannot count the number of driving lights i have had in my life, from ell cheapo's to a number of expensive ones. Have had these 230 HTX on my Landcruiser ute for over 2 years now, they are sensational. We are rural people with lots of hazards on our roads and these lights honestly have saved us numerous times from some form of accident/dent. Can understand they may not be everybody's light but you have options with the two switches. Get a little vibration at times but that is a combination of our roads and the bullbar. You do get incredible gl...Read more
are off some of the modern road signs, not sure why they can't put them on a slight angle or change the finish a little. We have other vehicles with reputable lights but not in the same league. They are pricey, they are tuff and they are good.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

They’re HID and LED. So don’t expect perfection.
Read all of the reviews on here and I think some people are missing the point of these lights. If you are looking for a pair of lights that can do everything to perfection, provide distance and spread then you’re dreaming.
Remember these run two switches... so depending upon your requirement you have one of three options available to you.
High wattage HIDs will ALWAYS have a delayed start up. It’s the nature of the beast. But it’s only going to be a problem when you are driving on windy roads with traffic where you are continuously turn...Read more
ing them on and off. If that’s how you use driving lights... HIDs are not for you. You need halogen or LED and in a spread pattern... which is why the HTX have the LED ring. As for the glare from street signs with the LEDs, again, it’s the nature of the beast with LEDs that bright. I run a pair of these and a KORR Extreme lightbar across my Roof. Basically the HTXs only come on when I’m doing long hauls across unpopulated areas. I drive Mildura to Broken Hill on a regular basis and my first trip with these bad boys on I think switched them off for a convoy once in three hours. Between Melbourne and Mildura... I used the lightbar probably 20x times. I feel sorry for anyone who catch a glimpse of these coming towards you from a km away...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Just drove Darwin to Perth with new HTX. Not happy.
Had our 200 series fitted with the HTXs and have come to conclusion I made a bad choice. Why? My cousin bought some lights for a lot less that side by side were just better in every way. One thing that really annoys me is the HID delayed startup. Its only a few seconds but is still noticable and the light particularly on darker bitumen often appears bluish. The leds are good for slow going and yes the HIDs pick up reflectors a long way but overall I would not heap the praise on them some do. My wife calls them disco lights and when she found out what they cost I was in the dog house.

Disappointed by HTX
I have more years of night driving than I care to remember behind the wheel and have to say I was not impressed. The HID was too focused and for 70W just was not impressive despite the advertised claims. The leds were impressive but after a while I just could not see why these lights cost so much for how they really perform to be honest.

Not perfect but dam close!
I have been using a pair of HTX's on my Navara for over a year now with very frequent night traveling and I am overall very happy. Firstly the light output is just incredible the HID's give about 750m-1km of usable light for me and the road reflectors normally shine as far as the eye can see. The led's are focused very short which give great flood particularly when offroading in addition to roof lights, however they can be very glaring passing large road signs. Being able to change spread and distance separately is a great feature as well and w...Read more
hy I chose these over the genesis set. The color of the HID's is slightly warmer than the leds which is irritating but not big issue. The build quality if fantastic, with a very strong case and seemingly good sealing with no condensation present even after being submerged. These are a very expensive set of light's but if you want performance its had to look away.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

These lights may actually be too good.
I have now had a pair of the HTX lights on my Ute for about 3 weeks, I have found the HID to be great on the distance about 1.6km of very usable light. The LED gives me a total of about 70m of usable spread either side of the ute as well. I do strongly advise the use of the HTX wiring harness, it’s a plug and play and was very easy to install with very minimal experience. When doing the initial install I would suggest on focusing the lights slightly pigeon toed rather than straight due to the super concentration of HID at the 350-400m mark, thi...Read more
s will also give you spread at distance. I have found some minor vibrations through the bull bar on my Amarok and although Lightforce do not suggest anything between the bar and the lights I feel that a bead of silicon or thin rubber would be advantageous to remove the vibrations.Similar opinion? Best soo far
I really do like my new HTX's. Had them on for a few weeks now and they're easily the best lights iv owned after upgrading from the ARB intensitys (which where good) and before that Supacentres (which where utter shxt!).
They are expensive but as most things in life... you get what you pay for.

Lightforce HTX. Buyer beware!
I was sold these after reading all the hype and local dealer saying they were the ducks guts. Well after a trip to Uluru, up to Darwin, Mt Isa and back to Sydney I would say I am far from impressed. The hid was an awful pattern and too tight. My old 240XGTs were better which perplexed me. The led at first was a WOW but then became a pain due to immediate glare off so many surfaces. In some moist air was so bad it took away all mid to long distance. The colour IS different between the led and hid despite me being assured they were matched. Insti...Read more
nct had me turning them off constantly. At times had both sources on but after a while just felt so underwhelmed considering they were over $1500! I really feel I have been duped and sold a lemon. I asked my fatherinlaw to take my 200 for a spin for his opinion as he was an ex truckie not short of opinion! His verdict was simple and perhaps not language I would use here. In a nutshell he hated the glare and delayed start up of the hids. When I told him how much I paid he just laughed and said if it were him he would be demanding his money back. So now I am in a situation of feeling I was misled and the HTX is really not living up to the hype which sold me. I think I will be returning to my place of purchase and talking to them re their advice. So, the Lightforce HTX gets a very dim 1* from me.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
