I have read online that both onion but especially garlic are toxic to dogs thus was horrified to read the ingredients listed in natures gift that included garlic. Why is this toxic ingredient included?

Yes Onion is extremely toxic to dogs however garlic is fine in small amounts and can be beneficial. It's hard when there are so many conflicting answers to this question. Rosemary is included in many products now however I won't give my dog anything with rosemary in it as it can cause seizures in some dogs. With all that said.. ..it really depends on your dog. I give my dog small amounts of chocolate and almonds, I wouldn't advocate this by way and don't suggest it but some breeds are more tolerable. Hope this helps.

Hi Faith,
We can confirm none of our products contain onion, however some of our products do contain a small amount of garlic. Garlic has been used for many years for medicinal purposes to help boost the liver and cardiovascular system. It also has immune boosting properties and can aid in inhibiting bacteria and fungi growth.
As you have seen, many websites do list garlic as a toxin to dogs as it shares an association with the onion, and similarly to lots of other foods, garlic will be toxic to dogs if fed in large enough amounts.

You are welcome to reach out to us direct via phone or website for more information if you are still concerned.

Thank you for your prompt response. I only investigated probable reasons why my dog seemed to be sleeping a lot more than usual and discovered that like koalas dogs may sleep while they attempt to combat toxins so I may reassess my purchase of your products.

Hi Olive, Our Natures Gift Nourish Semi Moist products are formulated for adult dogs, so are not suitable for growing pups.
Wed recommend feeding our Natures Gift Sustain Puppy dry food instead, as this has been developed for puppies specific dietary needs for growth.
You can learn more on this product and feeding guide on our Natures Gift website here: https://www.naturesgiftpetfood.com/en-au/our-dog-food-range/dry-dog-food/chicken-1
We hope this helps

My dog loves the kangaroo roles. They seem ok so far. I have only fed him a couple. Also would like some more feedback.

Not in the Woolworths where we live.Taree NSW. Got 2 small packets at Coles, but they have run out of it. Bought 2 large packets on line waiting to be delivered. This is the only dogfood my small Maltese dog will eat. He's nearly 12 and as fit as a fiddle..
