Nice soft small kibble, Aussie product

published

My lab stopped eating another major brand of hard dog food, and that was a red flag for me, as Labs will eat anything! I tried feeding her a completely fresh food diet but she was losing weight.

Since I've been supplementing with Nature's Gift Semi-Moist Kangaroo my dog has put on healthy weight and is looking in much better condition. She loves the taste and we use it as a reward. I like that it is a combination of real natural ingredients too.

Purchased in January 2021 at IGA for $9.00.

Brilliant but imperfect

published

My small dog has been fed this food for 6 years. Only now have I studied the ingredients to find to my horror that with all the other wonderful ingredients, you add sucrose, so bad for an animals teeth Please why??? Dogs don't need sugar. They wouldn't notice if it wasn't there. Why spoil a great product? He has teeth problems. I have to find something else and am so disapointed.

Poor product

published

I have had my dog on this food for six months now and never had a problem until now.
I opened the tin to find large chunks of bone throughout, I had to pick the bone out by hand as I do not give my dog bones and these are cooked bones which are even worse. I had the same issue with another company and never brought their tins again. I know bones are in the food but it should be finely ground.
I'm very dissapointed and will never buy again. What sloppy manufacturing processes!!!

Purchased in January 2021 at Woollworths for $2.00.

Found a hard piece of plastic inside!

published

I was about to feed my dog and I noticed an odd piece of plastic that had fallen out with the rest of the food as I poured it all into the dog bowl. I'm very disappointed about this and will not buy another product of Nature's Gift again.

Purchased in November 2021 at Woolworths Physical store.

Perfect treat for my 2 elderly dogs

published

My dogs are quite old - 12 and 14 years old. They love this dog food and I give it to them as a treat each day. The pieces are very small which make it easier for them to chew

Natures Gift Sausage Meat

published

In August 2018, I found a hard small plastic piece inside the sausage meat as I sliced it. I reported it to Woolworths and Mars but it was never recalled off the shelves. My dog has since passed away.

Stay away!!

published

I purchased a bag and when I opened it there was a overpowering off 'meat' smell, there's no way I would feed this to my dog. I contacted the company and they couldn't have cared less!

Made my Doggo Super Thirsty

published

I found that this dry food made Missy super thirsty for a very long time after eating it. She eats raw mince from butcher and veggies for her main meal, and has a few bickies as a snack. I also found she became quite "backed-up", which wasn't nice. She seemed to like the taste, but I will not buy again.

Really awesome product

published

My dog tends to just swallow hard kibbles but since these are semi dried, she's having a much better time chewing them and not choking on her food.

I have read online that both onion but especially garlic are toxic to dogs thus was horrified to read the ingredients listed in natures gift that included garlic. Why is this toxic ingredient included?

Yes Onion is extremely toxic to dogs however garlic is fine in small amounts and can be beneficial. It's hard when there are so many conflicting answers to this question. Rosemary is included in many products now however I won't give my dog anything with rosemary in it as it can cause seizures in some dogs. With all that said.. ..it really depends on your dog. I give my dog small amounts of chocolate and almonds, I wouldn't advocate this by way and don't suggest it but some breeds are more tolerable. Hope this helps.

Hi Faith,
We can confirm none of our products contain onion, however some of our products do contain a small amount of garlic. Garlic has been used for many years for medicinal purposes to help boost the liver and cardiovascular system. It also has immune boosting properties and can aid in inhibiting bacteria and fungi growth.
As you have seen, many websites do list garlic as a toxin to dogs as it shares an association with the onion, and similarly to lots of other foods, garlic will be toxic to dogs if fed in large enough amounts.

You are welcome to reach out to us direct via phone or website for more information if you are still concerned.

Thank you for your prompt response. I only investigated probable reasons why my dog seemed to be sleeping a lot more than usual and discovered that like koalas dogs may sleep while they attempt to combat toxins so I may reassess my purchase of your products.

Real Pet Food Co.Nature's Gift

Hi Olive, Our Natures Gift Nourish Semi Moist products are formulated for adult dogs, so are not suitable for growing pups.
Wed recommend feeding our Natures Gift Sustain Puppy dry food instead, as this has been developed for puppies specific dietary needs for growth.
You can learn more on this product and feeding guide on our Natures Gift website here: https://www.naturesgiftpetfood.com/en-au/our-dog-food-range/dry-dog-food/chicken-1
We hope this helps
