Went to the emergency room for nothing

published

Used it yesterday to check bubs's temperature (she's 7d old). Reading 38.1 consistently. So we went to the emergency room, and got told that this thermometer is useless. Her temperature was actually 37.4, and has been like that consistently all night. but we had to spend the night in hospital anyway just to be sure (a fever on a baby that young is a serious thing). Don't buy!

Inconsistent so useless!

published

I've used this for my nine week old who is showing signs of illness. After getting a high temp last night i gave her panadol. Then was up the rest of the night stressed as each time i take her temp it shows a vastly different result (same position, a few minutes apart). There's a big difference in treatment whether your baby's temp is 36.4 or 37.6 degrees! Was a long night!

I had to take her to the doctor today because of this and have been told to buy an ear thermometer as this one is inconsistent and pointless. Can't believe i paid $100!

Showed all well when temp was almost 39

published

My bub was feeling a bit warm so we took her temperature and it showed 37.4 so we thought all was well. Took her to daycare and when they took her temperature it was 38.7! Went and picked her up and checked again and our thermometer still said 37 so we tried with an in ear thermometer and it read 39.2!
Turns out she has an ear infection, hence the temperature, but sadly we are going to have to return our thermometer and get an in ear one as this is just not showing us the correct temperature when it's most important!

Average thermometer with huge price tag

published

I bought this thermometer because I have the Oricom Babysense monitor and think it's fantastic and therefore trusted the brand.

The thermometer works great and gives a super quick reading, however only works when the room temperature is above 15 degrees. Something I did not know when I purchased it.

It has been a very cold winter and my thermometer keeps reading as an error. I have had to buy another thermometer to use.

I am extremely disappointed in this product and wouldn't recommend it.
