Disgusted with Panasonic
Since invented I have always purchased Panasonic DVD player/recorders. Worked well until this model purchased Sep 2022.
Panasonic has lost the plot & is plain lieing.
Lie 1 - Box says Twin Tuner - it is not - post purchase found out only twin tune records if 2 channels are same frequency unacceptable.
Lie 2 - Box says "Optional" HDMI not provided get home & find HDMI is not optional it is a must or you can't connect the unit to TV. Unacceptable. More out money required - unacceptable.
No RCA outlets to connect audio to amplifier unacceptable.

PG does not move back/forward 24 hours anymore it goes to the start of the next day Dos not have option anymore of 24 hour clock try to phone 13 and other landline numbers - "Not in service" get your act together Panasonic. I am fed up with manufacturers changing equipment/parts so drastically just to force consumers to having to spend more. I am done with you all. Not everyone can or wants to "stream", interesting to hear recent talk in north hemisphere people are getting fed up with streaming services.
Purchased in September 2021.

Very happy with this unit.
I bought this unit to replace a Samsung pvr, which was the pits, and a complete waste of money. Samsung weren't interested in helping with the multiple problems I encountered, so I decided to cut my losses and bought this Panasonic instead. Sooooooo much better in terms of ease of operation and reliability. It has a larger memory, and records with precision. This only issue for me is placement of the buttons on the remote, and the fact that they are a little small for my chunky fingers. Apart from that, highly recommended!!

Convenience and don't have to watch Adds on TV
I had the DMR-EX77 which has just stopped working but was great, I still have a DMR-XW390 which is also great this new one, bought last week have had a few VERY handy things removed such as the --Chapter and Timeslip which I used all the time.
It also now has VERY small print when setting programs and looking up the guide, plus they have changed the colour from bright contrasting colours to dull grey and white which makes it much harder to read from the viewing distance.
There is still NO mute button.
They have also changed the posi...Read more

Hi Bruce, the unit is going into Power saving mode. If you want to switch that off it is covered in the user manual. If you need assistance please contact our customer service team on 132600.
Please direct me to the correct page in the user manual. I have turned "Rewind Live TV" off and also turned "Automatic Standby" off but the unit still shuts down. I searched the manual for "power saving mode" and was unsuccessful. The only reference to "saving" was in relation to daylight saving.
Two weeks have passed & no answer. I guess it can't be done.

It is also taking almost 3 hours to copy a 1.5 hour recorded program to a DVD recorded in DR
