It Works!!
I have a large outdoor water feature which holds a colony of motorbike frogs and a couple of dozen goldfish. Over the last year or so I had lost several fish to Egrets and Kookaburras which seemed to regard the pond as an all you can eat buffet. I tried a few different passive and active devices including electronic water sprinklers and dummy snakes and an owl but none worked for long. I even stretched a net over the pond while we went away on a recent holiday.

a window ledge overlooking the pond. The device came with a very power long cord, around 40 metres, and will also work from batteries but I used a convenient outside power point. It can also be mounted on a post or wall if necessary.The repeller detects movement and reacts by sounding an ultrasonic alarm which humans cannot hear and flashing two bright strobe lights and I was initially concerned because the cat did not react to it after an initial curious look. I know when a bird has been around because the fish react by hiding under the various plants and covering slabs, virtually disappearing for a couple of days. However, after over 6 months I have seen no predators and have had no losses with the fish swimming around quite confidently in the open. This would have to be the best $99 I have spent and the first successful deterrent I have used.1 comment
