Quantum Quartz Lazio
I'm a custom home builder/architectural designer who finally got around to building my own home. I wanted American made countertops however I found all faux marble options by Quantum's competitors to look fake with little to no small veining (this product is made in India). We ordered the Lazio in a matte finish. Clearly the finish is somewhat of "dull" finish as some of the reviews have stated but isn't that the case with all matte finish products? We had one scare from fallen pollen off of lilies placed on the countertops. I used a Mr. Clean eraser sponge and with a little work, good as new. Simple soap and water on a daily basis and this product looks great. We are extremely pleased and I will be installing in future projects.

DO NOT BUY QUANTUM QUARTZ - IT IS NOT SUITABLE AS A KITCHEN BENCHTOP
Quantum Quartz Matt White is not suitable as a kitchen benchtop. This product was defective from the day it was installed. It is highly porous and marks as soon as you use it. It is not easy to clean and requires regular polishing with a special product. The customer service is the worst I have ever encountered, and they will not take responsibility for supplying a poor quality product. DO NOT BUY QUANTUM QUARTZ.

8 years and 6 teenagers later it is still good
I have Quantum Quartz Mocha in my kitchen now for 8 years. I have 6 teenagers in my house. The benchtop still looks amazing. I have ensured my kids clean up after themselves, and use proper due care like I would any product and it has performed exactly how I expected.

Absolute Waste of Money
My Quantum Quartz bench top has been in for one month now and it already has a chip in it. It was tapped by the bottom of a small pot and a chip flew off (I laughed when my husband said he had chipped it as I watched him do it, not believing such a small tap could break such a strong product....well I was wrong). This is not the quality or reliability that I was led to believe the product was. The prior bench top was Carrara marble (over 30 years old) and it was totally abused for the last 3 year and never ever chipped. The after service is rude, did not care that it chipped so easily and the cost of repair was hideous. Total thumbs down from me. Spend the few extra dollars and get another brand.

The shine has gone off the bench top (in places) within a couple of months.
We had a new kitchen installed two and a half months ago. We have been away for a month since then so I have only used the kitchen for about eight weeks. It looks stunning but the shiny surface of the Quantum Quartz bench top has dulled in uneven patches. Until I read the other reviews here I thought it must have been something I had done even though I have only ever cleaned the bench top by using a soft damp micro fibre cloth. I am ultra careful with hot plates, pots and anything which might spill. I even use a separate micro fibre cloth from...Read more
the one I wash up with so that I don't transfer cooking oils from the washing up cloth. Another issue is the way ring marks occur everywhere a cup, glass or bottle is put down. It isn't a catastrophe - the bench top still looks lovely - provided the light doesn't hit the ring marks and dull patches but it is disappointing. I wouldn't recommend Quantum Quartz to anyone.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Shows marks and damages very easily. Aftercare service is terrible
Like everyone else this product shows marks like you wouldn’t believe. Everything will stain it, mark it, dull it’s surface etc. It is incredibly easily to scratch even with a piece of foil when simply wrapping a sandwich. Jean zips will scratch and chip the edges and it even gets marked from water and oil splatter. It is not fit for the purpose it is sold. I am a keen cook and I don’t even cook anymore because the benchtop makes me so nervous. The company could be less interested. They just refer you to their cleaning product (which by the way also damages it). I wish I’d got caesarstone. Their product and aftercare are phenomenal.

Wipe their hands of any responsibility
As part of our new build we had 2 types of quantum quartz installed. The first weekend we moved in we noticed dull circular marks on the island and assumed our water bottles left these. We also had problems with colour matching glue on a join and several small blue marks that looked like ink stains on the white counter top and called the stonemason to mention these issues. The stone mason has since tried to colour match and called QQ WK for advise. They no longer provide glue to colour match joins in their own stone according to the stone mason...Read more
which seems odd but was his feedback. QQWK Rep came at request of Stone mason. The rep stated he has never seen the blue marks before but that it is definitely in the stone and not a stain. Regarding the Matt looking circular stains he could not say how they were caused and used a QQ spray cleaner he brought in with him to clean them. It did nothing so he said he would post their own abrasive cleaner and to use a damp microfibre cloth to clean. I did this and it made the circular mark worse. The Marble came to assess and while here said a nano clean would not work as the Matt marks that took the shine off were made during transport and not to do with the stone. The blue marks were in the stone and could be removed/repaired but may leave a trace of repair and did not know what the other strange marks were. He also stated he had not seen them before. His report however to QQ stated all Matt marks were caused by incorrect cleaning and blue marks were inclusions. I called QQ who have basically stated blue is used to make white whiter and it is a natural mark that is too minor to be considered a defect that it is a normal part of this stone (looks like several ink pen stains in a few areas but nowhere else - if it were a bit consistent it would not look like a defect and this stone is in 4 bathrooms and laundry and the kitchen but only kitchen has it) the Matt marks were not caused by their cleaning agent but by incorrect use of their cleaning agent. How on earth can anyone prove they used the product correctly! I would not recommend this product purely because they do not stand by their own product. Do not have matches for gluing joins anymore and do not seem to care about anything other than selling it. Also, to add an update before this post has even been approved, The Marble man said as soon as he walked in that the marks on the counter were made when the stone was transported/handled by grips/caps or something holding it. I just spoke to the stone mason who said he only has an A Frame for transport so couldn't be as he does not own equipment that would leave these marks. So now it seems I can't even accept this version of events on marks being made during transport! Our cabinet maker is already telling the architects not to specify this product and refuses to use it in his work anymore. Says he is sticking to Ceasarstone as they manufacture their own stone and stand by it, apparently quantum quartz import it from Vietnam.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Looks lovely shows marks and hard to remove
We have a dark bench top, looks lovely but shows marks terribly, we have had to put wooden boards otherwise every cup or anything leaves a mark. We tried using the cream cleanser from this company and made it worst. In the pantry we have a light coloured Caesar stone which is so much better, doesn’t show any marks compared to the quartz. I don’t know if it’s just a dark colour but couldn’t recommend.

Shows marks easily and some can't be remembered ved
Had quantum quartz benchop (white) for about 2 months now. Overwhelming majority of marks, including water glass rings and even food scraps such as broccoli cannot be removed with water and some not even with the special quantum quartz surface spray intended for the purpose. I now have marks that even the quantum quartz cream cleaner won't move. Soooo disappointed. My understanding was this benchtop would look great and be easy to keep clean. I am a single woman who is conscious of cleaning spillages when they happen and thought this product would give many years of satisfaction. While it looks great it's functionality is disappointing and would love to hear from Quantum Quartz representative for suggestions.

Benches from Quantum Quartz
We had a built a new home with benches in the kitchen and the bathrooms provided by Quantum Quartz.
We were extremely pleased with the end product and the installation but there appeared to be an irregularity in colour on the main kitchen bench.
We were of course most concerned and asked for help from Quantum Quartz.
To our relief their service department immediately reassured us and their State Sales Manager, Maria, investigated immediately.
Maria then brought in their technical team to assess the issue.
It was determined the colour di...Read more

Chipped and dull
I had Quantum Quartz Ultra White benchtops installed in my kitchen 6 months ago and I already have two small chips on the island bench. One was caused by a metal utensil being accidentally dropped from a height of about 10cm and the other appeared after no notable incident. I had noted the installer polishing with Gumption so I tried to polish the chips out myself, but I now have two dull patches surrounding the chips and it looks terrible. I have emailed WK to ask for a solution and received absolutely no response.
I have had Ceasarstone benchtops in other houses for years and never had any problem, despite much tougher treatment.
I would not use or recommend Quantum Quartz ever again.

Not Fit For The Purpose That It Was Sold !
In 2012, we chose Quantum Quartz Pearly Shores kitchen bench tops as we were very impressed with the beautiful KITCHEN photos showing this particular stone on their website. As this product is quite expensive being in their “Designer range”, we checked out the warranty which states that “Pearly Shores are susceptible to staining and react to vinegar and other mild acids and can be abraded or scratched. ” On reading this I contacted their head office and spoke to the manager to clarify what this meant. He told me that if an acidic product (or si...Read more
milar) remained on the bench over a period of several hours (ie overnight), it may eventually cause damage to the shells, but otherwise, Pearly Shores is a beautiful and enduring product which would give me “many years of trouble free service”. He also sent me a letter, which I still have repeating these very same comments. To ensure these “years of trouble free service” I purchased Quantum Quartz branded Stone Cleaner directly from the company, suitable cleaners and cloths to ensure all would be well to protect my lovely bench tops. I am sure you can imagine my horror when I realised that a shell has simply disappeared and that instead of the smooth surface, I can now feel a number of the shells on the surface, which obviously means that I will loose them too over a period of time regardless of the care that I have taken. I contacted QQ in May and spoke to a different manager as my previous contact has since left the company, who told me that with such a delicate product, if just a splash of an acidic substance like lemon juice or vinegar should come into contact with the benchtop, the damage was done regardless if the liquid was immediately removed. If I had been told this before purchasing, I would of course not have bought this product, what good is it in an kitchen environment, in fact where would it be suitable as even in your bathroom many face creams contain a form of acid and what about typical bath cleaning products that may splash onto the bench tops ? It is totally impractical and hence “is not fit for the purpose that it was sold”. The shells are not abraded or scratched, I have no staining, they are simply dislodging and coming away from the bench top. I have since received a response from the company who say that I have no claim under their warranty. The very least that I expected was that a rep would be sent to investigate this issue but to no avail. Having felt that I was being very firmly “brushed off”, I contacted several kitchen companies who told me that they now would not recommend Pearly Shores to any clients because of the very same problems that I have experienced. I decided to write directly to the owner of this company to let him know how distressed and disappointed I feel but have received no response at all from him, not even an acknowledgement. How is that for great customer service ??Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I have a carbon matte bench top and am experiencing the same issues reported above, it never looks clean. Rings from glasses, streaky after cleaning, dull spots. I have tried different cleaning products and different kinds of cloths and haven't found a solution. Has anyone else got any ideas?
Best solution I have found so far it wd40 but it smells. Is there a similar product on the market with a lemon or lavender scent?
I have also found a polishing cloth works better than microfiber but still looks a bit streaky in the corners.

Hi Melly, are you trying to get a matte surface to look shiny (wd40) or streak free? I have found 1 part methylated spirits with 9 parts water works, wipe in circular motions with very damp microfibre then dry with polishing cloth. (I have white matte though not black) and the ring marks on mine always show as a dulled area as they are suction cup ones. another great product for streak free cleaning is windex ammonia free, I use this on matte graphite cupboard surfaces and it is the only thing that works really well. maybe give it a try on the your matte black counter. your ring marks if these have always been there, may be suction cup marks made during transport, even if they aren't and you want to get rid of them the only way seems to be a resurface, which is a light grind back and buff and polish. The marble man can do this apparently.
Have used everything ourselves and the only thing that make the surface great, no streaks etc is Stone Power Cleaner. Removes every mark and leaves the surface that does not finger print. Smells great as well. I would not use WD40 as it is a petroleum product and not food safe at all. Same with window cleaner or windex its not food safe and is highly caustic. Just check the MSDS on a google search.
This is the product and works fantastically well, the supplied cloth makes it much much easier to keep the surface clean and can be washed.

Can you put hot pans and dishes on quantum quartz?
1 answer
No you can't. It isn't like granite which could very likely cope with heat but you really shouldn't do it with any stone counter top. There are very specific methods for cleaning QQ also. I keep cork boards and silicon mats near my stove for this reason.
