Hi my 10 week old baby has been on S26 Gold newborn for a couple of weeks and I have noticed that every time she poos it is a dark green, smells and sticky. Is this normal? Will she go back to normal colour poo soon?

1 answer

Melly

Hey Bellajoy, it is completely normal for babies that are formula fed to have dark green poos. It’s to do with the high iron content in formulas. As long as she isn’t constipated and doesn’t have trouble pooing it’s nothing to worry about :)

My baby is 7 weeks old and has been on S26 Gold Newborn since birth. He spits up a fair bit and I’m considering changing him to the S26 AR formula instead. Does the AR formula still have all the ingredients that’s targeted at newborns as per the Newborn formulation?
Also, do S26 Gold formulas have probiotics and prebiotics or should I be adding supplements?

Yes, I have noticed the change in packaging. But they are definitely the same product and there is not problems in mixing. If you are unsure, then you should contact S26 pro - send them a photo. But if you are in Australia, then I am sure it is fine.

Baby formula that has been prepared should be consumed or stored in the refrigerator within 1 hour. If it has been at room temperature for more than 1 hour, throw it away. And if your baby doesn't drink all the formula in the bottle, throw away the unused portion. Do not save it for later.

This can be due to a number of things usually changing formula can cause this and you need to allow a month of use to get used to the formula. If your baby is also taking medications this can cause it too. Your best to however speak to a pharmasist or doctor

Id advise not to as it will be too strong for your baby unfortunatley. With them habing the age guidelines it has different nutirents required for each age frame. Ultimatley gibing your baby the formula too early may result in stomach upset, vommitting or constipation.
