Abrasive - Damages Shower Screens
The ‘power mesh’ side of this 2 sided sponge is too harsh & abrasive to use on the surfaces Sabco recommend.
After using it, my shower screen is now covered in very deep scratches which I cannot remove.
The sponge was used in accordance with the wording on the packaging. It is promoted as ideal for showers, baths, basins, tap fittings, tiles, sinks & bathroom surfaces.
The front of pack photo depicts a hand holding the sponge with the 'power mesh' side facing the shower screen.

through built up soap scum with ease’. Soap scum build up on showers is predominately (if not exclusively) found on the glass & tiles inside the shower recess. To remove the soap scum, the power mesh side needs to be used (as per the depiction in the image on the packaging). The packaging DOES NOT provide any warnings or caution to indicate the 'power mesh' is abrasive & not suitable for use on shower screens or tiles.1 comment

Hi H of Troy -
Sorry to hear about your problem.
The Power Mesh on the Sabco Duex Bathroom Sponge is made of 100% polyester thread, which will not scratch glass, tiles or other bathroom surfaces.... Read more
Is it possible that the mesh has picked up some foreign particles, such as gritty dirt particles, that could have caused the scratching? The mesh scourer itself is very soft and its ability to cut through built-up soap scum and the like is a function of its strength & durability. Polyester thread does not rely on abrasion for its efficacy. We sell many products using this mesh and have not encountered this problem before. Thanks - Sabco
