QLED is a great alternative for price and lifespan compared to OLED Panels
Doing my own research i concluded that getting a QLED was a great alternative for price and longevity compared to OLED Technology. I understand that OLED's construct superior blacks, clearer crisp images and faster refresh rates over QLED's. But be aware the Self Emmiting Diode technology has not been fully tested over a TV lifespan of a 8 -15 year grace period. Companies claim there TV's last as long as LCD backlit panels but this is not the case. OLEDS are prone to screen burn-in which will leave a visible burn like mark on TV's after years...Read more
of use, and yes they do have callobration countermeasure for that but i still dont believe it has been fully implemented. I dont want another case of plasma panel burn in happening as that proved otherwise. Positives: Samsung have perfected their range of LCD backlit panels with their new QLED's and I trust it. QLEDS have brighter, more glare resistant screens with higher colour contrast on outside day scenes in movies and games. Viewing OLED TV's during the day was like looking into a mirror i can see everything reflect from OLED's during dark scenes, which i found to be annoying, QLED's dont do that as they are backlit. The Apps developed for the Q8 are excellent. Netflix, Amazon and Youtube work great, they display an incredible 4K HDR image and is very easy to nagivate using the remote. I do wish the Internet Browser provided was better developed because it does freeze the TV for minutes forcing me to close the app as it uses most of the TV's memory when opening specific sites or another Tab. No Google Chrome or Firefox app. Negavites : I am not happy that the TV does not include a built in 2.5mm headphone jack as bluetooth is becoming the standard. Also why doesnt Samsung include a microfibre cloth in the box, im paying premium prices for your TV Samsung at least include a 2.5mm converter and a cloth. Be aware the latest firmware upgrade has dimmed screen brightness in which i had to factory reset and reconfigure the screen setting to my liking again in which has rectified the quality of the screen. One last thing it is not worth getting the 9FN over the 8FN as both of them display the same quality image (dont get the 7fn just save up $500 more), im just as happy with cable tying the cables over hiding them thanks. I dont understand why retailers charge an extra $1200 for the 65" Q8 model. Seems like a cash grab to me as it only cost half that price to manufacture an extra 10 inches. Conclusion: I would prefer getting a OLED TV from Samsung when the technology is further improved and tested, i am very happy with the QLED Q8 55" for many years to come and will upgrade to a 65" 12K OLED in the year 2028.1 comment

Deep blacks and amazing picture quality!
This TV is amazing for a non-OLED TV. Great features and the anti reflective coating is one of the best on the Market. The blacks are deep and the colours stand out. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because when I'm playing PS4, the game mode turns itself on and off sometimes during a game. Apart from that, no complaints!

Great value and OLED alternative
Great TV, good alternative to OLED for bright room viewing, gets very bright. Great display tech for gaming. Great OS, quick and easy to use. The only downside to this TV is fluctuating brightness levels with subtitles and panel lottery with DSE. Samsung is still putting out updates to try and rectify the brightness levels. Overall very satisfied.
Purchased in January 2021 at JB Hi-Fi for $2,919.20.

A total dissapointment on every level
After considerable research and dozens of conversations with salesman, I took the plunge and purchased a Samsung QLED TV. This TV is touted as cutting edge LCD tech. After learning that OLED is prone to burn in (every test to date shows it’s a real issue), I went for the QLED.
Set up took a little more than an hour. The physical set up is fairly straight forward, but there are a lot of bits and pieces to sort out and it’s a two people job. The stand is in two pieces and must be assembled and then attached to the TV.
Once we stood the unit up...Read more

Great tv but not perfect
Use this tv day in day out, great tv with voice recondition and wifi, the internet and apps runs smoothly, controller is a nice design there's a gear on it which makes it 10x easier when browsing through channels, however it does have it's flaws suck as not showing the entire guide in one go (example : on channel 10 you cannot go to channel 99 and see whats on unless your on that channel but i never experienced a full guide on any tv) also it can get a bit dark from over use but a quick restart fixes that, very thin and light compared to others,

Could have bought Q9, but did not have 55in. Chose Q8/55 in. very similar screen and processers to Q9/65 but 1/2 the price. Picture quality upscales SHD+FULL HD very close to UHD 4K extremely well. 4K Netflix great. Connecting to other devices very easy. Had problem TV Bluetooth to Samsung Soundbar, Samsung 24/7 support took control of TV via internet and resolved the problem in 15 minutes, excellent service. So far although early very impressed.
