Where is water tray in portable Stirling portable air con please?
There is none .
Hi, I if you look at page 17 on the owner's manual attachment you will get more info on your question. Looks like the unit automatically "empties" the tray when full but more info is in the instructi...

Cheers, George .file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/George/My%20Documents/Downloads/Portable+Air+Conditioner+-+Instruction+Manual%20(2).pdfHi my name is Karen from Air supply air conditioning I am looking for the duct that releases the air from the air con out the window. Can you tell me where I can get some I measured it and it is 13 and half cm wide?
Hi Karen, my only suggestion would be to contact Stirling via their website to check if they stock this part/s. Failing that, if you can buy a similar sized duct from another brand you may be able to adapt/modify it to suit the Aldi one. Good luck.
Hi I have brought a second hand portable a.c stirling am12c53ra and it keeps switching off and display says EO I have changed batteries, unplugged, left it for days, still won't work properly. Any help?
The EO code is for the room temperature sensor if it's coming on there is a failure in the sensor somewhere.
Is the ground underneath the air con level, the air filter cleaned and temperature set lo...

is it more affordable than split system in terms of electricity efficiency, i am asking regard 4.1 kw aldi portable air conditioner?
Hi Fred, I'm only an average consumer but did some research. Look for the power consumption of the device in watts or kilowatts and take into account the size of your room and the system you are compa...
Read morering. Split systems are definitely quieter because most of the "machinery" is outside but you''l have to factor in an electrician/installer to fit and connect it all together along with the running costs based on the size of the aircon. We already have an evaporative system but wanted the portable room aircon for those occasional horrible, humid days/nights so you could move it from the lounge to the bedroom etc. Hope this helps, Cheers, George .thanks George
Hi I have just purchased a Stirling A008A-14c are they expensive to run ?
Hi Dibley, I can't assist with an answer I'm sorry as I only had mine for less than 2 weeks. However, as a guide, if you check the specifications of the aircon ( or any other similar appliance ) look ...
Read moreto see the capacity of the item in, say, watts or kilowatts, so you can roughly work out how much drain is on your power bill. Another option is to buy one of those "power usage meters" from Aldi or elsewhere, plug it to a wall socket then plug your device into it...it then shows the energy use over a set period, eg. weekly, monthly etc. Regards, GeorgeThankyou George
Water light comes on but there is no water in it it is only new but it keeps coming on what could it be?
Hi Elizabeth, can you describe what you mean by the "water" light please ? If you see an icon of a "water drop" on the main screen then that means the aircon is in the dehumidify setting (pressing the...
Read more mode button will cycle the settings from Auto - Cooling - Dehumidifying ) but if you mean a small lit dot under the "mode" button (not on the lit display screen ) then that is the " full" of water function. If it's the latter and you are sure the container is empty and dry then I suggest give Sterling Service centre a ring and they can advise. If the aircon is less than 60 days old you can return it to Aldi for a full refund. Cheers, George .Is there a way to keep it on the lowest settings so that it doesn't switch between the highest and lowest fan, very difficult to sleep to when it keeps changing?
Hi, all I can think of is that if you set it to " Auto" then it cycles to keep the set temperature as your room temperature changes. If you just set it to "Cool" and set the temperature then it may st...
Read moreill cycle to maintain the temperature you set. All aircons do that because of the inbuilt thermostat. My problem was that whatever fan speed I set it at it would only work on low even if I set it to medium or high speed. The noise problem will always be there because its the design of it, ie very noisy. Other brands are much quieter so that even when they cycle to adjust the temp the sound is not so bad. Option could be to pre-cool the bedroom etc before going to sleep and maybe set the timer for say, a couple of hours so the room doesn't warm up too quickly. I listened to the Rinnai 4.1 kw recently and it was so much quieter than the Stirling so I think I might give myself a Xmas present for around $720- $750 with 2 years warranty. Hope some of this helps, Cheers, George.Hi my unit didn't come with a remote is there a way of working it manually at all it seems to have the temp set already at
35 or is that the temp in the room? Thanks
Hi, if you bought it new then it is covered by a 3 year warranty PLUS you can return it for a full refund from the Aldi store. Or, you could ring the Stirling customer service line and explain the mis...
Read moresing remote and they will probably send you one. It can be operated manually via the buttons on top. Power on, select cooling mode, ie Auto, Cooling or Dehumidifying then use the up and down arrows to select a temperature. The owner's manual shows the approx room temperatures the air-con will recommend. If you set it real low then the machine may never actually reach it because of its design. Good luck, George .Hi, thanks for the answer George, yep I bought the unit from a friend and they couldn't locate the remote - but the unit despite me setting the temp to 23 keeps reverting back to 35 degrees, when I pu...
Read moresh the button it flashes on 23 for a few secs then goes straight back to between 30 or 35, would that be the temp in the room its registering? Thanks for your help Suze BSuzie after you set the temp you want it switches back to show you the current ambient temp of the room. As the room cools the temp showing on the display will drop.
There is a fixed fly screen on window. How would the window kit work?
You open the window, place the exhaust/window kit on the far right hand side and then close the window as far as the window kit will allow. The fly screen doesn't affect anything as the unit and exhau...

Do I have to put water into my aldi Stirling portable air conditioner?
No, you are probably thinking of an evaporative cooler that requires the water to cool the air it blows.
It seems that after reading many reviews of this air conditioner that people either love or hate them - ie they work great for some and are hopeless for others (as for me unfortunately). Could it be that many of the units produced are simply faulty in some way? It appears to work and produce some cold air, but this is negated by the amount of heat generated by the unit - ie to touch it is very hot and the air being dispelled externally is extremely hot.
I am one who loves it. I'm not sure if some are faulty or not to be honest. We have two portable air conditioners from ALDI, one bought in 2007 and one in 2013. Both still work fine and they keep a sm...
Read moreall (5m x 5m) room far cooler than a fan. The principal of air conditioning and refrigeration is heat transference, but it's meant to be expelled outside through the tube away from the unit, not into the room. There is some radiant heat from the tube but the cold air coming out of the unit seems to compensate for it, in our case at least. I'm probably not a lot of help to you and your situation as I have been very happy with mine..but if yours isn't working properly then maybe contact Stirling and see if they can help. Cheers, Amy.I purchased 2 identical units last summer. One is great one is merely a noisy fan (without having any major faults). I have the local warranty rep currently looking at it to see where to from here. He...
Read more said they usually just replace them. So I guess it's luck of the draw as to getting a good one or not.Just want to know what's the coolest temp you can get these to, I've only managed 24. I'm thinking something wrong with mine
Ours usually hovers around the 26 mark on hot days but can get down around 22. It depends on what the outside temperature is on the day and how many hot days have preceded it. We find that living in a...
Read more brick home is a bit of a pain because once the bricks heat up they radiate heat back into the house for as much as two days after the temperature has dropped outside. Cheers, Amy.24 degrees is better than no aircon at alll - its also better for your wallet when the power bill arrives! It is in fact recommended as the optimal energy and cooling efficient temp to set for any ty...
Read morepe of air conditioner. You can help improve its efficiency by closing unnecessary windows (evaporative coolers can be used with open windows but not air conditioners) and close all doors (incl wardrobe doors) and curtains. Do this as well as using a fan to help move the cold air around the room more - the extra movement also helps keep the air cool esp if the unit BTU/wattage is a little too small for tge actual room size. Also make sure the exhaust is as short as possible and the unit therefore as close to the window the exhaust vents through.Hi! Just wanted to know as instructions are too confusing with the temperature settings, followed instructions and when I set the temperature to say 16 deg it flashes then goes to 32deg and I've had it on for 3 hours on high and the temperature doesn't go below? Live in 2 bed flat so only way to get cool is to basically sit right in front of it.
Hi Chrissy,
Not sure why that happens, it never happened to me while I had the aircon (I sold it as I didn't need it anymore). It seems that's not working properly. ...
Read more Also, I think that this aircon it's definitely not enough for a 2 bedroom flat. I would use it just in my bedroom and didn't think it would work in a much bigger space. CheersThanks paris 19 . Looks like will have to take it back.
Where does the hot air goes from the portable Aircon?
Can you buy spare parts e.g. the piece that fits the hose to the window part?
You'd probably have to ring Stirling. We have one that we bought from ALDI in 2007 and the flat bit that goes in the window went missing in the garage over winter. I have improvised with a flap of sti...

Does the top vents open more than a few centimeters and is it ment to have any condensation on it? Thanks
The top vents open automatically to its full capacity..condensation does happen when there's too much humidity in the air it's normal
Bought the Stirling 12000BTU. The temperature changes between 28-29• but nothing lower. When I lower the temp to say 25• it flashes a few times and goes back to 28/29. Any clues?
The temperature u set will be saved in the memory..the temperature that shows u after blinking is the room temperature..gradually it lowers!! :-)
Red light comes on indicating water is full. How do I empty this?
If I remember correctly there is a drain hose at the back and I had to wheel the air conditioner into our bathroom and drain the tank or pan that is built in to the machine into the drain in the shower area.
I don't have sliding windows to fit the discharge hose in.
Can I discharge through the ceiling into the roof space?
This would not be advisable as you would be putting hot moist air into your roof space. The idea of using a window next to the machine is to get the heat and moist out of the room as quickly as possible.
