Works a Treat

published

We bought this product because we can't afford to run our split system all night. So far, since purchasing it, we've noticed our electricity bill has been significantly lower. We feel good about using it because we're conscious of carbon and also because we don't like sleeping with our split system on as the air gets too dry. With a Coolzy we leave the window open and this seems to keep a nice air flow going all night while we sleep in the cool breeze from the machine. I'm happy to give this product 5 stars.

Purchased at coolzy.com for $749.

Does what is says on the box!

published

I bought one of these case my houses insulation us terrible and we've got an open plan house. This means that any air con is fighting the radiant heat and incoming hot air. That means it's burning needless energy. The product is sold as a personal air con and only works when really focused on you. That's fine for me cause I use it for WFH and sleep. Sleep it's fine but I've heard its better with the tent so when Coolzy has those back in stock I'll be buying one of them. In terms of cost of running, it's hasn't changed my electricity bill much which is more than I can say for my split system which munches about 10 bucks a night. All up, super pleased with the Coolzy and would recommend.

Works nicely in our small office

published

We have a small office in a warehouse that isn't insulated. I use this pointed at my while sitting at my desk because there's no chance of air conditioning the entire space (it wouldn't be practical or energy efficient). So instead I bought a coolzy. I point it at me and it has kept me cool on days that would otherwise have been pretty warm.
You do have to sit in front of the machine to get a benefit but I'm a web dev so I sit and stare at a screen all day. This means I'm stationary and the machine sits around 3 feet from my desk. So far I'm pretty happy with it. I was also surprised at how quiet it was. Didn't affect Zoom calls at all. Would recommend.

One of the best purchases I have ever made!!!! Real Refrigerated Air conditioner what works perfectly even on humid days

published

Brilliant portable air-conditioner. First of all I found that not only the air-conditioner itself but also the extras ... tent and carry bag are of very high quality and very reasonably priced. The unit I purchased has the remote control and allows the temperature and fan speed to be adjusted, I like to sleep with a bit of a cool chill and I adjusted the settings accordingly. Now finally getting a really really good night sleep even on the hot humid nights. Very pleasantly surprised how cheap it is to run the unit the whole night. One of the best purchases I have ever made !!!!!

Not sure what its supposed to do

published

If you sit in one spot, position it pefectly so that it maybe hits your face it will cool your face down for a few minutes until it overheats the rest of the room and then you just sit sweating while the room gets hotter and hotter.
Dont buy if you expect to get cooler, so disappointed and then when i emailed them about it they just ignored my email.

Now i am left with something taking space in a room. Maybe it might work if you move your whole room to the window and have the exhaust pointing out of a window, but i didnt want to have to set my whole room up around this thing.

The igloo tent is like being in a cool fort.

published

This is how I have the coolzy set up all over my (rented) house and home office. It may not be for everyone but it works for me in this set up and I love it. Using the igloo tent reminds me of building a fort for when I was a kid and this just makes it so much more fun. In one of the photos, I have the unit set up in a big camping tent in our balcony where my two small kids hang out and play. I cut out a small window for the coolzy unit, works really well all day.

At last a portable aircon that works!

published

Thank you so much to the inventor of this product. He has thought of everything. We live on the Gold Coast/Australia where the humidity can get really high with exhausting heat for a very long time. We were getting very nervous about entering into another long humid summer but I don't think we will have a problem at all. We tested it on a hot day and was amazed at the cold air that came out of this very small & stylish Unit. Easy to move around as the castors run smoothly and a nice long cord is provided too. Its a nice compact design, so it doesn't take up much space, super quiet too. We are very impressed with this unit and will be recommending it to everyone.

Good while renting

published

I'm renting a small weatherboard in Sydney. In summer it gets hot! infact, even in spring is starts to get warm. Some nights it's hard to sleep. Anyway, bought the unit cause it's portable and doesn't need install. Means I can take it with me when the rental lease finishes.

So turned it on the other night and boom! kept me cool and got a good nights sleep. Feelin pretty great about it. Would highly recommend.

My experience with Close Comfort air conditioning.

published

2018 - Was melting in a house with no air conditioning. Did some research before buying the close comfort set up ..... Being off grid I admit I was sceptical even though the research regarding this set up was positive. . I live in South East Queensland with a summer season that would try the patience of the best . The close comfort cools like a little beauty. I have the igloo set up over my bed and I run it on 17degrees and sleep under a doona ....... I absolutely love it and that fact that it’s so economical on power usage means I can ru. It off grid .... Highly recommend it . Fabulous set up - Cheers Jen .

Details

This product was previously sold under the Close Comfort brand, and may now be available as Coolzy by Close Comfort.

This product was previously sold as the Coolzy Cool Focus until Jan 2022.

The Coolzy Personal Air Conditioner is different from other portable ACs because of its innovative technology. Unlike other portable air conditioners, it is completely self-contained, and doesn’t need an exhaust hose, window kit or water to operate.

Features

  • Coolzy.com states that this portable AC can be used in a variety of rooms, including bedrooms, offices, sheds, tents and caravans.
  • Three speeds allow you to choose the level of cooling you would prefer. It also includes the option to switch between a regular refrigerated AC or a fan.
  • A low power draw of 300 watts of electricity makes this Coolzy AC energy efficient compared to other similarly sized portable air conditioners.
  • This portable AC runs off the residential standard of 240V of power. However, it can also be used off grid (e.g. while camping), using batteries, solar panels, or a generator. The power supply needs to have a minimum voltage of 215 volts AC and a maximum supply of 250 Volts AC.
  • A removable tray makes it easier to collect and remove condensation that collects while the air conditioner is running.

Points of Praise

  • The Coolzy Personal Air Conditioner garnered praise from reviewers as a strong and highly effective portable AC that works, while still being economical with the power bills.
  • Residents of home in hot and humid locations found that the weather was no match for the cooling power of their new Coolzy unit. Air coming out of the AC remaining cool and crisp, no matter the weather.
  • This truly portable AC was used in a variety of settings by reviewers. The Coolzy portable AC was used with good results for renters, for reviewers trying to get to sleep on a hot summer’s night, for trips in the campervan, and for home offices.

ieatwords_2022 Awards_logo
