Yes I love it too...although?
Cafe Series TA9400Bought in the early 2000s (2003) from David Jones.
It's finally stopped working on one side, won't stay down and I would like to replace the element in the hope that it fixes the issue as I don't want to let it go.
I may just buy a new one and hope that the quality is still the same as the 2000's model. Anyone have any clues on good toasters?
Best toaster so far
Cafe Series TA9400So far have owned a Breville BTA845 and a Dualit architect and we have found this toaster toasts more evenly and consistently. The only negatives is the lack of a lift and look feature and it is marginally slower than the others, this may be due to its ability to accommodate thick slices (therefore a normal toast slice sits further from the elements)
Show detailstoasts well but not repairable
Cafe Series TA9405Wwe had 4 slot purchased in 2011 and was working fine till 12 months ago when two slots ceased to work. got round to seeing if possible to fix but when i rang repairer he said elements are not replaceable; in fact only toaster he said that did have parts replaceable was Dualit, but it costs over $500
as we have family of five we have bought another one, hope it lasts
This toaster is not "toast"
Cafe Series TA9200I bought my TA9200 (type 621) way back in early 2006. I chose this (2 slot) model after purchasing innumerable toasters over many years, from bargain store 'cheapies' to premium department store products, only to find they all would work fine for a couple of months before either toasting performance (ie usually the lightness/darkness control) deteriorated or they failed completely. The 'Cafe', although expensive, big and bulky, is still going strong after all those years - pretty impressive for an appliance that is not generally known for lo

So, you'd think I'd give it 5 stars! Well, no actually. Although it is robust and reliable, it is not without its issues. The (painted on) numbers on the darkness control knob have worn off over the years, leading to guesswork, and the lever now needs a strong push to lock it down. For several years, for regular toast, the control has to be set to the darker end or the toast under cooks. Large slices of 'rustic' homestyle loaves (usually round) are either too long for or catch in, the slots. However, given its age and considerable use, I would certainly recommend this toaster. Given my experience, I'm surprised at the number of people who have had such poor experiences with the Sunbeam "Cafe Series" toasters. I can honestly say that this toaster is the best one I've ever owned.

Looks good & worked great for approx 5years
Cafe Series TA9200We were happy with this toaster that lasted approximately 5-6years.. Receipt is in storage so can't exactly remember how old it is.. The left hand side of our 4toaster will no longer stay down. Now it's the annoying task of finding a replacement.. Stay with sunbeam or not, I'm concerned the newer models aren't the same quality.
Reliable toaster, perfect toast but a bit slow.
Cafe Series TA9400It does the job well as I prefer very dark toast very nearly crisp-bread but my wife prefers lightly toasted. The element is a fair distance to the bread which means that it takes more than the normal time to toast. So it could be described as a gentle toaster. However it does produce an even balance on both sides of the bread. Having owned it for 14 months now, it is still as good as new. The only problem I noted is it has lost some of the writing above the crumpet/cancel from wiping it clean and I think soon it will all be gone, so we will s

I also like the idea of being able to purchase a replacement element if needed. Great individual toast settings. Writing lifts from cleaning.Very good toaster, though not cheap.
Cafe Series TA9405WLooks great, works well and produces nice crunchy fairly even toast. The crumpet setting works well, so far so good. Can make 4 pieces of toast with different settings for left and right sides. Crumb tray very easy to remove. It seems fairly well built, maybe not quite commercial quality but definately better than most other toasters out there.
Looks, relatively even toasting, crumpet setting, separate controls for left and right, easy to remove crumb tray.
Pricey
Good all round family toaster
Cafe SeriesI purchased this toaster approximately 4-5 years ago. It is a little slow at toasting like the other reviews listed here have mentioned, but overall I am very happy with the product. We are a family of six and this toaster has serviced us very well.
As we now need a new toaster I have decide to replace the elements in our sunbeam toaster. I came to this decision because I could not find a toaster (after researching on productview) that could convince me it would be better than what I already have, for the money I wanted to spend.
An im

Very important when you are toasting raisin toast and normal bread at the same time as the settings are different for toasting these two types of bread. Overall very happy with this toaster and would recommend it. Two separate settings for each pair of slots other 4 slice toasters don't have this feature. Yes it is a little slow, also takes up a bit of bench space.Wish the slots were bigger, otherwise no problem.
Cafe SeriesMy parents bought this toaster for me, as they have the same one. It's good quality and works well. You can adjust the toasting time to get toast how you like it. It toasts evenly, so there are no problems there. This retails for around $200, which I think is a lot to pay for a toaster. My main issue with this is that it's got four small sized slots instead of two long ones. I would rather have two long one to either do two small pieces of bread in each slot, or one big one, if it's something other than a standard loaf. I wouldn't personally choose this toaster again, for this reason.
Reliable, cooks evenly, hasn't caused any problems
Small slots

Solid but with faults
Cafe SeriesSolid and well built but only had it a week and crumb tray plastic came adrift and had to take apart to secure cheap plastic clips back in. It is slow to toast. Other than that it is good.
Good overall toasting.
Cheap plastic clips for crumb tray
Good
Cafe SeriesGreat browning coverage for multigrain & white bread. Not good at all for Burgan breads especialy the Rye, and impossible to taost the first time around if the bread is straight from the freezer (for the rye). A nice solid toaster with a lovely design. Leave it on the bench.
Very even toasting. Very solid unit, wont tip when you press the plunger down no matter how hard you push. Designed to stay on the bench as a good looking piece of kitchenwear. cooks multigrain and white bread perfectly, even if coming straight from the freezer.
Will not
Good

Good
Cafe SeriesWas a bit concerned about the "Sunbeam" brand until it was explained the 'Cafe series' is of a different quality. Quite expensive but I needed one that was nice looking to remain on the bench and that would not rust really quickly in my harsh elements (on the ocean front).
I have not noticed any rusting yet which is usually quite apparent by now. So taht is a huge plus for me!
A bit slow to toast and the settings are inconsistent - so hopefully it comes through with the rust resistant grade stainless steel to overlook the price and other cons
