Childrens blanket therapy
Great calming therapy blanket for any toddler who needs some down time. I recommend for any child not just ASD children. I also have the adults one and love it.

Poorly designed and not worth the price tag.
The weighted beads inside the blanket always pool together making the blanket extremely lumpy. While the beads are stitched into small pockets, appears to be poorly stitched and beads move from pocket to pocket.
As for the sleeping better factor, have not noticed any improvement in my sleep.
Site either has issues or its intentionally blocks lower star reviews, left a 4 or 5 star for the blanket cover and and 2 star for the blanket itself, only the higher star review is posted. Which makes me wonder if that is the reason why the site is near...Read more
ly only 4 or 5 star reviews. Also from the last few months of viewing the site, seems the blankets are always 50% off, guessing it's a dodgy marketing tactic to make people hurry up with buying. Would say from my experience this is not worth the money and I would have been much better off buying one from ebay or another site like it for 25% of the "normal" price.

A game changer for our family
We have been using our therapy blanket for about 6 weeks now and it has been incredible for our family. All our five children and my husband and myself have had turns using it. It has a calming effect that is hard to explain. Our children suffer from anxiety and we have used it to calm and relieve their anxiety with incredible results.

As promised
Bought the kids blanket for my 8 year old who has sleeping issues. She loved it! She said it was snuggly and it seems to have helped her sleep faster and more soundly. I had a few observations on the workmanship which I emailed their Support about. They replied promptly, so I have some reassurance they take care of customers after purchase.

2nd blanket purchased.
I found my first blanket so beneficial that I purchased a 2nd one to bring home to my parents house for Christmas. Even if I wake up for a while in the middle of the night, it really relaxes me!

What an amazing blanket
This blanket, heavy as it is (9kg), is the best thing I've bought in years. I was talking to a co worker who lives a healthy life and had just bought one and as I'm trying to make a few changes with the life style that I live.
i was taking in everything she was saying to me . I'd never heard of a thearapy blanket, A weighted blanket. So after my friend explained things to me it really started making sense, so as soon as I got home from work, i ordered my blanket and it took one week to arrive at my home in Auckland.
Gee some people come up wit...Read more

I ordered a double sized blanket for my son who loved it, but swapped for the Queen and Sam was extremely accommodating. The Therapy blanket is as great as the reviews attest!

One huge pro, several niggles
I have had chronic insomnia for 33 years and have tried everything to help and so I was amazingly surprised and pleased that the first night I slept with my new Therapy Blanket, I went from having on average 3 - 4 hours of broken sleep a night, to sleeping for 5 1/2 hour without waking!! Since using this blanket, I am sleeping for longer than when using a duvet and when I do wake in the night, it feels like Im being hugged, so I have noticed I am not clenching my jaw and teeth and fall back to sleep quicker than I used to!
There is no sounds o...Read more
f beads when I move, its much quieter than most duvets! The weight distribution is perfectly even because the square compartments are small. The amazing plus point of better sleep, outweighs the slight negatives, which I hope to get used to. Below are my niggles! I ordered the 7 kg blanket, even though for my weight, I should have gone for the 9 kg one, but I'm so glad I did, because there are several downsides about even having this much weight! At first, it felt uncomfortable and almost smothering to lay on my back, as the weight of the blanket pushed down on my chest and lungs, but every night I get more used to that! The weight of the blanket on my toes, makes them curl under or back towards the top of my feet, so not as comfortable for your feet as a duvet. Three things about it make me more achy - the effort to turn over, makes me lay in one position for longer. Because I am more relaxed and hence less fidgety, I am moving less at night than with a duvet, so hence I get more stiff. Because it pushes me down slightly into the mattress, the mattress is feeling more firm and again, makes me more achy in the mornings! It is slightly more narrow than a duvet so at first, I got a few drafts, but quickly got used to that as it seems to snuggle around me pretty effortlessly. It's pretty heavy to lift and re arrange in the mornings, but I've got used to it. It's winter, so I'm sleeping with the warmer side towards me, but the colder top side is colder than a duvet when I rest my arms on it; but its still a good idea to have a cold and warm side! The grey colour is pretty drab, a lighter fresher colour would be nicer! I miss sleeping in my cotton or cotton/polyester duvet covers! But all of these slight cons are outweighed by the real purpose if it - to sleep well and feel relaxed!! So, in conclusion, with getting more sleep, life is much better in so many ways and I am not over eating so much by day, which already has made me lose some weight and so with that, I'm hoping I will therefore get less achy in the mornings, which so far seems to be the main downside of this blanket for me as a women in my 50s!!Similar opinion? Therapeutic that's for sure!
I initially bought 2 as gifts, but I was able to try one for myself (7kg), and literally felt some niggling pains in my legs melt away. I slept like a log. Needless to say, after waking up I immediately ordered a 9kg for myself which is more suited to my body type according to the website. Highly recommended for a better night's sleep!

Amazing best sleep ever
I purchased the 7kg grey bamboo blanket and it is seriously amazing, the first night my partner used it we both had the best sleep ever as he wasnt flipping around like a fish anymore lol. Its really been great and even though its been so hot the blanket feels cool and is breathable, the beads dont bunch or poke into you but mould nicely to your body. It has helped alot during panic attacks and stressful time and its great to just snuggle on the couch. My cat loves the comfort and security of the therapy blanket too! Its been one of the best investments we have made lately so worth it. Thanks so much therapy blanket team for the wonderful product and service.

Well designed comfort
I received my 7kg bamboo therapy blanket (custom order-with both grey and pink covers, no pillow cases)
Firstly I was really impressed with the amazing customer service. I sent the company so many questions and each was answered with detail within the stated 24-48 hr time frame. I am also grateful for the way in which they happily tailored my order to fit my needs.
I was so impressed with the zip and tie securing system to ensure that the inner blanket does not slide around inside the cover. The 10 x 10 stitched squares ensure that the bea...Read more
ds remain evenly distributed. The 7kg blanket gives a comfortable firm feel without the heaviness that you might expect from that weight. The bamboo cover can be machine washed however the inner blanket can only be washed by hand or spot cleaned. I really felt the benefit over my legs that often suffer from restless leg symptoms. The soft bamboo feel adds to the comfort making it a slice of luxury after a hard day. I bought my blanket on sale and I would be happy to recommend it.Similar opinion? Questions & Answers
Facettorasked
We have just received (13/03/20) our Therapy Blanket.
I have a question relating to the two zippers fitted to the blanket. Is the new cover now supposed to have Two (2) zips for attachment of the blanket. Our cover only has the one blanket zipper, middle of the cover, if so, I would greatly appreciate being able to return the cover we have received for the latest version.
Because we wash our sheets on a weekly basis, we can see the 8 or so ties being difficult to handle and hard on an elderly persons back

I have an adult daughter who suffers from trying to deal with life, if you know what I mean. Have these blankets been tested with people who have severe anxiety and depression.
What its the theory behind these blankets please?

Hi Julie,
Thanks for writing in and I definitely understand where you're coming from.
We've had many customers tell us that our products have really helped them feel more relaxed and ease their anxiety and depression.
There have been a number of studies done where weighted blankets have been tested on with people to measure their reduction in distress and clinician rated anxiety. However, I'l be honest here - the studies did not specifically state whether the participants in the study had severe anxiety or moderate anxiety. I just wanted to mention that as our weighted blankets won't always work for 100% of people.
To put it in layman terms, the theory behind these blankets is that the pressure that they deliver helps people to feel more at ease by increasing their relaxation, improving mood and helping to reduce stress levels. Here's some further reading for one of the studies done that found that participants of the study reported a reduction in distress and anxiety https://www.researchgate.net/publication/231213675_Pilot_study_of_a_sensory_room_in_an_acute_inpatient_psychiatric_unit
I have only had mine since March, I find it very comforting & relaxing, easy to snuggle into & I think it does help with sleeping issues. I like weight in my blankets & I think it is so evenly distributed, I just feel it suits my needs.

I don't, but I would like to know.
