Great Bike for an experienced cyclist
This is a well-built bike, with quality brakes and Bontrager XR1 tyres. Although nominally a 20 inch bike, the 20 x 2.25 tyres are a high-profile type with possibly an extra 25 mm in diameter. That's good for a better ride over rough ground, but meant that the training wheels supplied with the bike were ineffective - could not be adjusted to within 25mm of the ground. For a 5.5 year olds first bike, this was troublesome. Other brands of training wheels were similarly ineffective, and we had to resort to custom making a bracket to extend the length of the training wheel brackets (as per the photo included). With that done, there will be years of cycling fun ahead of us.
