This is my first bike, I was looking to get a Honda CRF230F but didn't feel comfortable with the height. The TTR has plenty of power, safe enough to learn on & I'm sure that as my riding improves the bike will continue to satisfy! The price was another huge benefit, straight off the shop floor for the same price as a 98 crf230f which had been rebuilt a couple of times. A definite winner :)
Perfect bike for a beginner, but I reckon I'll get a lot more fun out of it as I improve
None! It's a great solid bike, reliable, been around for a while...Read more

overall great bike, no maintenence, bulletproof and enough power to keep up with the bigger enduro bikes. people see this bike and scoff at it but they dont know the true potential of it.
wow. this thing can really fly. has great power and i can whip the back wheel out pretty much wherever i want. corners and handles great in single track, and will handle small jumps pretty well.
slightly heavy.

I share the opinion of others when I say that those who say the bike is underpowered are the types who are probably used to seeing how fast they can go on a dead flat open piece of gravel on a CR500 or YZF450. This bike is made to go as quick as you want in tight stuff - where real riding is all about. It handles, is simple and cheap to maintain and has enough low end grunt to climb the nastiest of hills with ease. And, it'll still be running reliably long after the YZF's and CRF's have been re-built 3 or 4 times at a cost of thousands!!

Find out how Yamaha TT-R230 compares to other Trail Bikes
Know better, choose better.
OK
Iv resently bought a TTR230 and when it comes to power i dont see it having, the top speed it reaches is 80km.. thats on a flat road if theres a bit of a hill it'll slow even futher down. The first bike i ever own was a klr 250 and it went faster, it was an 1988. So if anyone can help me, if there is any posible way to speed it up. all ears.
Sturdy bike good for out bush.
Not very fast.

I have a ttr 230 which has a headlight factory fitted which year is this bike I can not find the year of manufacture on it

Ours was purchased 2017, and it was an option, i.e. you could buy it with or without the headlight. Is yours the road registerable model (blinkers, brake lights etc) or the newer models? The new headlight is LED and to be honest isn't much chop. I had to make two brackets so i could adjust the angle so it didn't point in the sky .

Why do some TT-R230 have headlights and some don’t. Is there a different name for one
