Plenty of gym equipment, clean and they were decent at following covid rules when they were in place. But the 30 day cancellation policy basically means they have an $80 cancellation fee, though of course they don't describe it as that, which is extremely dishonest.
Was paying $52 a month than went up to $73 now has gone up again this time to $77 Really not happy can anytime please leave a number so I can discuss this with someone as I do like anytime but im on the verge of leaving and going to another gym as this is not right how many increases does there need to be

First day a lady working at reception told us bring 50 $ cash then she will provide my brother another tag and then my family member can use this pass for 14 days. Next day we went with money a guy show up with glasses and badly discriminate us talk what ever he likes abuse us. Moreover he charges me fine of 60$ . Even if the policy is written and the email was sent, It still doesn't make it right. It's fraudulent and abusive. This goes way beyond the money that I have been charged this has broken my trust and I have been treated so poorly that I never want to walk into an Anytime Fitness again ever, even to sign your little papers. Anytime fitness needs to work on their communication skills my contact ran out and they never told me, instead they just continue to bill me with out any communication about my contract finishing.
The staff are so self absorbed that they wanted to know why I want to cancel and I had to justify to them.
They hadn't even looked to see the last time I attended the gym which was a long time ago due to covid restrictions.
Then they tell me that I have to keep paying their over price rate for another month.
If they had contacted me when my contract ran out I would have left then and there.

BEWARE THE 'FREE' TRIAL AT BALMAIN ANYTIME FITNESS
I paid a refundable amount of $79 for a swipe for 7 days, no contract, no terms/conditions or any obligations. I advised i was not interested to proceed with any contract via email and suddenly my card details have been shared with a finance agency which had set up payments without any contract, consent or awareness which is completely illegal. I called Agency and put a stop to any payments and am still waiting for my swipe refund. This is the sneakiest, slimiest, most dishonest management i have ever come across.
I have sought legal advice.

I wish there was a negative 10 for a rating. when I signed up for 18 months the girl made it look like after that my contract will end meaning end of membership only for them to continue to debit from my account. Customer service is terrible, which you get for low-cost gyms, but Alexandria, NSW is diabolical. They couldn't take less responsibility for their work if they tried.
In my opinion, the worst gym in Sydney based on smell, design, parking and most importantly billing.
- The place has a permanent stench as there seems to be some kind of leaking pipe on the 1st floor.
- There are 2 fans in the entire gym.

Anytime fitness can increase their prices when ever they want, They will just send one email, and that’s it, this month you are paying $60 and next month you end up paying $80.
There are plenty of other gym options around Sydney which are quite cheaper compared to Anytime fitness

As per other reviews here. AF undertake price hikes. Their 'notifications' are via email but comprise a seemingly unrelated 2-page notice regarding a gym equipment update or the like with a very small note at the end regarding a price increase. The email does not even state what amount the increase will be.
Plenty of better options out there. Keep looking.

I wouldn’t even give 1 star to this gym. I have been trying to cancel my membership from past 4-5 months, no response. I moved from miranda to hurstville and wanted to cancel the membership as the AF is too far from where I live. Paying money for no reason. Shameless business. I haven’t been to that gym for more than a year but still paying money cause they won’t repond to any emails. I will be taking a legal actions now.

Later in the day he fixed it but left me insulted in front of his buddy and other people around. I responded to the automatic feedback email the next day rating the customer service as poor. Unbelievably he himself read the feedback, apparently didn't like and wrote a long email to me basically saying if you go to bank you won't be served before staff hours. So that's why I dismissed you. and in the end rejecting what he said on that morning and said my statements are lie. He mentioned he never said I'm not the manager!! everyone in the suburb knows I am the manager and I have witnesses for that too!! I pursued the matter by emailing the customer service but seems even customer service doesn't really care either as after about a month I only have a ticket number no direct call from customer service and not even a phone number for customer service complaints. I had been a member of Anytime Fitness and even helped them out during Covid Times BUT renewed my Membership at Belmont NSW Anytime Fitness and was charged an extra $100 dollars because I was claiming it thru and Insurance provider. Closed the centre I was going to in Ryde without notifying. Turned up and doors closed. Not answering phones including mobile left on site. Eventually stopped taking payments. Then suddenly starts taking payments again without notifying me. No pre warning at all.
Did not ask if I was vaccinated. So now there are unvaccinated forced to attend the gym as all accounts are active and being charged.

Back up other comments on almost impossible to leave... I notified cancellation after several YEARS of membership in person, on phone and in writing by email... After that, they bombarded me with promo material despite several 'unsubscribe' actions to the point I had auto delete anything from them. 6 months later, they STARTED BILLING ME AGAIN. Supposedly, amongst their unsolicited bombardment of emails was advice that my membership was 'paused' not 'cancelled' and I had to 'opt out' in writing to prevent reuming membership !!! Read more been clearer when I cancelled the membership. 3 months before I noticed unauthorised resumption - obviously with zero attendance at facility. Not even a phone call - just start raiding the bank account. Only switched off after I threatened small claims court and they DID NOT REFUND the resumed amount. Ethics fail. And that is after being a 4 year (~$2400) customer. Reprehensible fiscal behavior with zero respect for consumer laws or ethics. Coupled with their total taking the hiss 'joining fee' and 'key fob purchase' it is clear they are money first, customer last. Why are we still paying fees when we can’t use the gym because of lockdown
You would only have been charged for 2 weeks as the lockdown was only supposed to last for 14 days. Most franchises will credit your membership when they reopen

It simply isn't acceptable to conduct businesses this way. Its under handed, misleading and ultimately designed to be unfair for the consumer. Im sure if it got in front of a magistrate it'd be a matter of minutes before they sided against anytime. Just look at all these stats - of 505 reviews average score is 1.8? That doesn't just mean you're upsetting some of your clients... that means you're upsetting damn near all of them and i, for one, expect better from something approved by the ACCC to legally charge money.
And imagine how many hundreds of thousands of extra dollars they get every year because of their dodgy loopholes. Money that could have been kept by citizens who would use it to stimulate the economy. Instead its sitting in some small business owners bank account doing SFA for anyone but the business owner. And its not like he deserves the money. The guy at Epping is barely ever there and when he is hes completely unapproachable, locking himself in his office. Disgusting.
Just today, I was studying ACCC website to understand how to at least put a complaint against this dodgy business...You can not steal from people and run the business as usual!
