An amazing piece of technology from Apple.
A great piece of technology. Amazingly fast. Superb screen. Touch strip saves time. Large touchpad with haptic feedback. Top quality OSX software. Super brilliant screen. Quality. Had a previous 2015 Macbook Pro. Differences are the new one no longer has the ‘lit’ apple logo. The new one had only USB C ports whereas the old one had USB 3.0 / SD Card / HDMI Ports. Overall the 2015 Macbook Pro was a great model but for me the speed difference is the plus and what made me upgrade.

Owned for 48 hours and that was too long
I had one Apple computer back in 1990, and since the PC's only. So really I don't know my way around the Apple operating systems. After years of loathing Microsoft tech support (I'm no technician yet I am usually teaching them about Windows troubleshooting) I wanted to make the leap to the other side (and spend a lot more money for the same horsepower of a Windows laptop). I bought this in November as Apple extended their no questions ask return policy until January so I had ample time to try it out and use it. While I had 48 days to use it I d...Read more
idn't make it 48 hours. While I'm sure the MacBook Pro is a great product (I really believe it probably is) the Apple store staff failed miserably. This is not rocket science. For the most part they have only 3 types of customers. Those that are Mac freaks and know their way around the operating system, people who are new to computers (albeit the small minority) and us long time Windows users. The staff should tag us accordingly but they don't. They act like they have all the solutions but there were lost in the fog (or maybe the iCloud) about setting up my multiple email accounts which use POP and Exchange Servers. What they thought would happen did not happen (as I predicted). They lack in knowledge outside a VERY narrow band and us heavy PC users (who for the most part are producing something of monetary value and not playing or viewing). I wasted a good 30 hours researching the product, going to the Apple store (all in an effort to get away from Microsoft's horrible limited English speaking tech support calls which seem to bounce around several galaxies before landing back in India or China). But Apple failed miserably. They need to understand how to deal with potential PC to Apple converts. They have the stores, they have the good (very expensive) product, but also have a team that is high on ego and low on requisite knowledge. I think they've made it to the 5 yard line but they need to get their staff properly trained in order to win a victory with the zillions of PC users who are sick if Microsoft chat box support and worthless phone support.Similar opinion? MacBook Pro 2017 - 15 inch with touchbar
Amazing machine.
I use it for heavy video/music production and some high-end gaming, it has not skipped a beat so far. It just works. Very light, portable, and oozes great design, the Touchbar is a good addition, very useful. USB-C ports have not been an issue with addition of a comprehensive hub. And best of all retains it's value, will be able to resell when I upgrade in a few years for a significant amount, try that with any other brand, won't happen. It's a no-brainer.

Never ever again
Talked into buying an Apple Mac Pro computer with the sales pitch you get what you pay for. Sadly this was not the case with my Apple Mac Book Pro. Told to just buy another one. No thanks at least if a PC breaks down they are not such an investment and are cheaper to have repaired. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

I love this macbook, perfect, and without a touchbar
I am using this laptop for work, with osx, and it is great. I also have a windows on it with bootcamp, which is really really bad - only using it if it is needed, but with the base setup it is the best
If I have to highlight something bad, than it would be only the battery time, which is going down over time, I guess to quickly

Great Computer
LOVE this new Macbook 2017. Speeds are incredible and the internal software make my editing job a breeze, the quality of the screen and audio is amazing. I don't know how I handled using the old Macbook pro. I think this machine is far more advanced that any other laptop.

Great customer service to resolve issue with keyboard
I love my Macbook Pro, but had serious issues with the keyboard. I bought it early 2017, and some keys were not working as they should ("sticky").
After experiencing consistent issues with my Macbook Pro keyboard, I took it to registered Apple Support provider in October. In consultation with Apple they issued me with a brand new Macbook Pro, and gave me a free upgrade (not major, but a little sweetener for the hassle with the keyboard).
Five stars for customer service and the replacement product is perfect xxx

Best in class 15 inch laptop
I was immediately impressed with my new MacBook Pro (with 512 GB hard drive, 16 GB RAM and Core i7 processor) as it was quite a bit lighter than I was expecting for a 15 inch laptop. The screen was also a lot larger than I was expecting with minimal bezel around the edges. The battery light is slightly disappointing if you're doing anything that engages the dedicated video card, however it will last a long time if you're watching videos or working on Office files (as it will switch to the Intel on board video card which uses less power). The...Read more
touchbar was initially confusing, but it quite quickly grew on me. I've been running Parallels software to also run Windows 10 software at the same time, and this laptop handles it without issue. The biggest surprise was it being able to charge my USB-C Google Pixel phone whilst the laptop was in standby mode with the screen closed. The other surprise is how fast the laptop can charge using the USB-C charger - almost from zero to full battery in an hour which is extremely good. All in all, a great product.Similar opinion? Perfect laptop for a developer
This is the second macbook i have ever owned and I love it.
I purchased the high end 512 GB edition with the dedicated GPU because I knew i was going to use more than 256 GB of space.
Overall, I am loving the build quality as well as the speed of the laptop and OS.

Very Expensive!
We've been pushing our 13" MacBook Pro (2016) to its limits lately, so we bit the $6,000 bullet to find out how much faster the new 15" MacBook Pro (2017) and the results were shocking.

Nothing new
I had the old MBP from 2013 and found it to be a great computer, however all of a sudden I started having battery problems. It would get to about 45% and then just turn off. Called Apple and went through process and hours of calls and then just decided it was costing me too much time to be doing this so bought the new one. I upgraded to the 16GB of ram and compared to my old one, it's very very quick. I had a look at the touch bar and couldn't really justify the upgrade. The battery life on the new one is much better, screen relatively the same. Overall, I wouldn't really say it's worth the upgrade.

Not a Novelty
Must start by saying that the Touch Bar conveniently located just above the keyboard easily within reach is very smart, and saves precious time from doing anything from web browsing to image editing. Also worth mentioning is the screen. Brilliant contrast, colour, brightness. Battery life is not brilliant however, 7 hours for normal use

NEVER AGAIN APPLE
Broken after 3 months- my brand new Mac Book Pro 15inch touch bar model, customer service sucks for someone 3 hours from the closest Apple store. Not good enough for someone who spent over 3 grand on the thing. Already a week without it and now being told its at least another week to have it replaced even!!!! Uni assignments overdue and falling further behind each day. HOW HARD IS IT TO SEND OUT A FULL CHARGER TO SEE IF THAT WAS THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. They got me to spend another $130 on a charger to see if that was the problem and did...Read more

It just feels so much better than anything else
The touch is so responsive, and the display colours are unmatched by anything a PC can offer. The weight of it and the material are absolutely superior, which you can feel right away. The processor is powerful, and the graphics performance is above acceptable. But I would not play games on it. I opted for this model because it was 600 dollars cheaper than the new pro, and the keyboard feel is nicer.

Superb
I was a Compaq man for years, then switched to HP and was happy with them too. A Macbook was a bit of a leap of faith, but luckily I was not disappointed.
I just love this computer. Mac purists will waggle their finger at me, but I put off buying one of these until USB3 and Windows were supported. I think it's a way to get the best of both worlds. I believe it was the right decision as the thunderbolt ports have never been used. I'd love to have thunderbolt gear, especially external hard drives, but they are so rare and so expensive it's ju...Read more
st not viable. I have had no problem at all running Windows 7 on this machine. In fact I believe I've had fewer problems than the average non-Apple laptop user. It seems Apple makes great Windows drivers. Only two USB ports, but they are both USB 3.0 and are ideally positioned out of the way of your mouse, whether you're left or right handed. You can always use a hub if you need more than two. HDMI is another "compromise" that Apple made that has been extremely handy to me.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Still running strong after 4 years!
I have had no trouble at all with my macbook pro since the four years I have owned it, no viruses no crashes. Best decision I ever made switching to a mac. However on saying that their software leaves a lot to be desired & I still find myself using a Microsoft laptop from time to time. Apples search function is amazing yet something as simple as right click cut and past, well just saying good luck with that. haha

Incredibly fast!
I jus bought MacBook Pro Mid 2015 inch 2.8 GHz 512 GB storage. It works incredibly fast and with 16 GB RAM, I can play a game that require big RAM whilst browsing or watching from VLC media player. Absolutely love it. The battery is long last. Thanks Apple! :)

Can't Live without it yet still have issues Apple needs to fix!
I bought this product mid-year of 2015 from Apple and I found this to be such a great piece of hardware to own. Seamless connectivity between one device to another, easy to use and fantastic timeless look and feel of the functions within the OS.
I have a few issues which is troubling and has become annoying over time. I've bought the wireless keyboard, track pad and mouse to keep my table wire free but when I link all 3 of them on to my mac and have my wireless internet connection on at the same time the connection to the internet is none-exi...Read more

Fantastic all round great laptop.
The MacBook Pro is my favourite laptop now it is so fast and easy to use. The screen is beautiful and the picture is fantastic. The computer is great at running all day to day tasks and some really challenging programs but the computer runs most programs with ease, it might be more expensive than other laptops but it is certainly worth it if you want a great quality laptop which is robust and works well for school or work than would definitely recommend!!

Excellent build quality
I had many VHS and mini DV tapes that I wanted to convert to a portable digital media.
The Mac has a reputation for excellent video editing features and my brother, who is a video hobbyist, recommended I buy a Mac.
I've always owned a PC with little use of a Mac, so I thought that there might be some learning to do.
It was underestimation. The Mac has quite a different design philosophy compared to a Windows based computer. The build quality is excellent. It feels like it's been machined from a single block of aluminum. It feels solid and ...Read more
